Things a (insert job here) should never say.

I reading some threads on Allakhazam, and one of them was a "things a white mage should never say" and some of it was amusing. x) So post some stuff you think a (insert job here) should never say in a party (or wherever).


Some of my favorite quotes for a White Mage were:


"I wonder what would happen if I healed that Elemental..."

"Where are you guys?"

"[In the middle of a fight.] Just left for a moment but I'm back now. What's going on?"

"It's my turn to tank!"

"Settle down man, you don't need Paralyna, it will wear off."

"I just got Banishga, check this out!"

"I'll heal you after the fight, when it isn't so hectic."

"I NEED to raise my club skill..."

"Oh, after this fight can you guys show me where to get cure and other healing magic scrolls?" <-- Haha, I gotta try that when I get to the dunes with my WHM on Asura. x)

I was leveling up my Black Mage in the dunes when the WHM in the party asked what a Macro was. I giggled.

WAR/PLD/NIN- I dont want to Provoke because i am afraid to die!!! O.O

That kind of thing actually happens, though.

I once had an entire party disband on me as a joke. They planned it out amongst themselves...I pulled a gob, and then they all said "gtg" and disbanded one by one.

The whm healed me so that I wouldn't die while I zoned the gob, but it still sucked

White Mage- [Party is about to be wiped out, most members are in critical status.] "I'm not going to use benediction! You won't be able to get it off of me!"

Black Mage- "Look at my equips! I've got +9 on MND!" (That actually happened, my party's black mage had +9 MND and +3 INT.)

Paladin- "I figured I'd use a white mage sub to increase my healing capabilities."

Dark Knight- "Paladin is the best sub for me!"

Beast Master- "What's CHR good for again?"

Bard- "I couldn't afford any instruments, so I'll just sing."

Ninja- "Utsusemi: Ichi, what's that?"

Samurai- "I'm going to use my polearm now."

Summoner- "I'll call out an elemental to fight."

Ranger- "What? You want me to pull? I've never done that before."

I don't even play FFXI and I still find these amusing. That Bard one amused me to no end.

Sadly enough, most of those actually happen.

well.... polearm is a great weapon for samurai.... iv seen lvl 75 samurais use it, and iv seen a lvl 75 dark knight with relic AF sub PLD, i asked him why and he said it allows him to cast both dark, and white magic, aswell as boosts his DEF really high which makes it a great solo combo.

Keyword: Solo ;) Plus i still think when soloing /WHM is a superior sub in most cases.

As for lvl 75 SAMs it WAS used to do penta thrust farming, but now theres no reason to lvl a polearm for a SAM other than you JUST want to.

When i invite SAM i want a GKatana and/or Arrow shots, if i want polearm i am inviting the handy DRG :)

Pugs are good exp. As long as you're ready.

I've tanked them no problem before. Just make sure the whm isn't rank 1 and has a sub.

White mage: Hey guys! *looks around at dead party members* You dead guys! You're dead.......hey! *pokes* you're dead! *gets hit* well, it's too late for you, but not for me! *flees from battle*

*party is dying*

*Warrior is running around chasing a giant trapper next to a butterfly!*

heh sorry just came to my mind...lol

Actually whats worst is that theres an add and he provokes an entirely DIFFERENT mob creating 3 mobs to atk the pt >_>;

Oh, I know. But 99% of the time, the party's doing perfectly fine and getting a great rate by chaining not-pugs, and some asshat decides that since we're not getting 200 per mob, that PUGS ARE THE ANSWER. And then someone dies. Or a lot of people die. Either way.

A Classic:

WAR(at lower levels) or PLD: "I dont tank"

Guy doiing synthesis has HP in the yellow.

Acutally you cant really cure someone crafting unless you casted it before he sat down >_>
