They play five songs. Some of you might dig this. The announcer is hilariously bad, though.

I went to high school like 30 minutes from there. I graduated before then though. That was pretty good. Does anyone know what they second song they preform is?
Must. . . show. . . my director.
*wants to do a ff show for her senior year so badly* or just videogame music, then they could put in mario and such. it'd be so awesome though.
now, to wait for this to load -_- *sighs and pats her modem* or just do it tomorrow when it isn't time to sleep.
That would be The Man With The Machine Gun from Final Fantasy 8. Anyways, they're pretty good but I thought certain parts didn't really do the originals justice. Other parts sounded really good though.Quote:

[the first one]It seemed like they played a lot stuff that I didn't recognize as ff music, especially at the beginning.@.@ I mean, I heard parts of liberi fatali, one or two of the renditions of eyes on me, chocobo song, aeris' theme, but what were those others? @.@; or were they just really long arrangements that make no sense-_- I liked the way they ended back up with liberi fatali though:D
the mediocre playing got to me more than the marching. especially that one trumpet solo. although the flagline seemed off more than they needed to at times. I wasn't really watching them that closely:)
I swear, if I ever see a band doing a ff show, I am so standing up and clapping, no matter how crappy they were. And I'll force others to, as well. I'll forget this by next october, but still:)

and i only know this because i have the sheet music for the whole thing
You have the music to the show? Are you saying your school performed it? Would it be horribly out-of-line to ask you who arranged it, wrote the drill, can I have it?
As a Texan, I can say that Westfield is an absolutely incredible band. I attended the regional competition of this show this past year.
I can now die happy.
liberi fatali kinda sucked....really really bad...
they sounded like they didnt even know what they were singing. they were just saying something that almost sounded like the real thing...my computers slow so i dont know what the other songs sound like
Well, I can see no one's going to answer my question. I thought the arrangements of the music were awesome. I think it was lack of musicianship that made things sound band. I.E. they can't play.
Arnold Morrison is a US high school music teacher who arranges a lot of FF music. His arranged scores can be downoaded free from www.nobuouematsu.com.Quote:

Thanks for the website, DrkFenix! I am definitely going to show my band director.
Yeah, thanks for the site, Drkwhats-ur-face. Of course, now that so many people are doing.....do I still wanna do it? DUH! Actually my band director wants to do some lame theatrical peice called Africa. I'll never give up!!!!
Um, who is Shuyin? And why does he look like Cloud?
anyone know what an indoor drumline show is? its way better than some marching band. you have to have a show theme and everything and a storyline. someone should have a final fantasy indoor drumline show. it'll never be my drumline...my drum instructor would never do something like that at CHS. too bad
for pics of what indoor drumline shows are, go here: http://vicfirth.com/news/WGI2004B.html
yea, Westfield has a good band. Mine was/is better, though we never played any FF music. :DQuote:

I like indoor drumline ok, but I'm a brass player so I'm partial to that stuff more. A FF indoor drumline show would be interesting, I suppose. Might work well in winterguard too.
Yes, I've seen those before - those are from the Nobuo Uematsu website Big D mentioned. I love that site, and get a lot of my violin sheet music there. I would love to convince my orchestra to play. . .Quote:

Goddess, I miss being in Marching Band.
I showed my band director the music for the marching show. We ran through it in band and she really liked it. We are going to do parts of it for our final concert this year and she is going to let yours truly conduct it. WOOT!
ff music.. band.. im almost afraid to watch it. not that i think it will be be bad or anything.. maybe its more jealousy then anything else. My band would have never done anything like that..
boo.
In my opinion, yes westfield is a good band, but they could have played better. Hm, maybe just the fact that they were on the field made it bad.
I wish my school was doing something from final fantasy.
