That is completely effing sick. :(
EDIT: And WHY was it sexually abused?
This is NOT okay. It's sickening, deplorable, repulsive... I don't know what else to say.
I thought it was implied that there was always moral outrage at you.
"EDIT: And WHY was it sexually abused?"
...What kind of question is that? What POSSIBLE answer could there be other than "they are sicks"?
In Africa, there's a belief that having sex with a virgin will cure one of AIDS/HIV. So in recent years there have been countless stories of young girls, and even INFANTS being raped by men with AIDS. These people are sick and deranged, that's obvious, but asking "why?" isn't silly thing to do. Sick and deranged people still have their own twisted reasonings behind their actions.Quote:

I've heard the AIDS rumour before. It's quite disturbing to say the least.
*sigh*
It's more disturbing than that because it's not really a rumor. :(
Wait, so what you are saying is that there is some type of deranged voodoo cure for AIDS?! I have hope!
(j/k...)
About it being sick, of course it is, but some ppl don't know when to quit...But there is always some distorted reason within their minds WHY to do something...like this. :(
Bastards. That was just wrong
Welcome to the Human Race, where some individual are the bottom rungs of the ladder.

She could still be blind and paralysed. I dont know what to say. For once Im glad Texas has the death sentence.
They ain't worth going to jail for..I'll settle for someone letting their whole prison's population know what they did. :smash: :shoot:
I don't think they should put things like this on the news. I don't want to hear about it. It does no one any good to hear about it.
I dont know about that, awareness? This kind've stuff is happening in the world, do your bit to fight against it. Something like that. I dont like the idea of ignoring it because its depressing though I can certainly see why you wouldnt want to hear about it.
How can you fight against something like this? I don't really see a way to fight it. What are you going to do? Deny people their kid and by what criteria would you decide this? You can't fight it. This is something we do not need to hear about in the daily news. Why not a happy story about some random mother who had a kid instead? Its a lot better than this.
I said pretty clearly that I wasnt sure but I guess I'll take a stab at it. Well there are probably plenty of organisations and charities for abused kids and fighting it could be something as easy as reporting far more subtle but still serious forms of abuse. knowing that something like this could happen in this day and age is depressing but at least Im aware of it.
I think we were thinking a bit on different levels. You can stop child abuse to an extent with organizations like that but I was refering to the 6 month old kid. There really would not be too many visible signs as the kid probably stays at home most of the time and is not around others to see the abuse.
Try this then, The reason to put it on the news is because there arent many signs, be aware. Im just throwing that into the air for the sake of it but child abuse makes the news pretty often and that kid is certainly an abused child. You dont need to look at the kid for all the signs ,its probably the best place to start. Dilapidated home, Dangerous parents with a bad history etc. All signs to investigate
There's nothing you can do to stop it, no. There will always be sick people in the world. The people in this person's neighborhood should be aware of it, because it affects them to have this person living near them. They need to be made aware of it so they can make sure that those people get what they deserve. The police should be aware of it, because they can and should stop it from happening. But why does the entire nation need to be aware of it?
It's put on the news to shock people and to make people emotional. And if something makes you feel very angry or very sad, it makes that bit of news seem "important". This bit of news is not important, in the sense I don't need to know about it. I know there are sick people in the world, I know people hurt each other, etc. etc. I don't need to know about this particular case; I don't need to know the graphic details. No one needs to know that.
That brings me back to what I considered the more important issue of why can't the news be happy? Instead of all this horrible stuff why not lift people's spirits with some heart warming things like a random couple having a new baby or a person who started a buisness and gives back to the community. People wonder why the world is so violent? Look at the news we grow up on.
Like I said before, You may not need to know the graphic details but putting it nationwide helps make nationwide aware in my opinion.
Ive seen plenty of happy reports on the news but the main reason the news shows problems is so they can gain support and be improved upon.
you know it's wrong when it's not something you ever consider possible.
Find the parents.
I said prevent. They are not even parents yet. I bet they didn't even go to a hospital because they the u-cord was still attached. How can one prevent this type of thing.Quote:

Thats so disgusting! It's like, If that baby survives, it isn't even going to lead as full a life as it could of done before that happened.
I just say I hope the baby gets better and gets placed in a loving caring home where it will be loved and cherished forever.
People like this should not be allowed to live. Who's kid was this? Was it theirs?
The 1st babies parents should die. The 2nds, I certainly dont agree with what they did but I wouldnt have them killed.
You know what I would have rather seen than this? A snow penis. But I suppose because this was in the news it makes it much more pleasant for that youth that supposedly comes here?
The news is presently the single worst influence on the human mind.

This reminds me of the mediatisation of a 16-year-old boy torturing a kitten (very recent too). The public really don't need to hear about it, I don't think it really concerns them.
Yes it's cruel, and by putting it on nation (or even international news seeing as we've heard about it in Australia) news will make people 'aware'... Aware of what? That parents can be cruel to infants? How are we going to prevent this? Take away the right for them to have kids?
I, just as Unne, don't really think we needed to know much about this.
You do know that the story about the baby tossed from the car was a hoax, right? The lady who 'found' the baby turned out to be it's mother, who is now undergoing psychiatric evaluation...as for the rest, I just can't comprehend how anyone would want to harm a child that young.
Yeah I read it on google news this morning. She had the baby in secret and made up the story probably in the hopes that she'd be still able to keep him without her family finding out about her pregnancy. Luckily several people have requested to offer the baby a home.
I, for one, am glad for this to be on the news. I'm no more happy reading about it than anyone else. I wish it never occured in the first place. But the TRUTH is that it happens. And it can happen ANYWHERE. And as long as we know that, we know we should be aware of it. Leave these things out of the news for a year, and most would have all but forgotten about it.
Knowlege is the cure for ignorance. And would you believe that the act of rape/molestation rarely buys the attacker any more than 20 years in prison. (USA). It used to be around 10. Public awareness forced the law to change, and close to doubled the numbers. By the current trend, it should be doubled again soon. Personally, I won't be happy until the executioner shoves a small handgun up the bastard's rectum and pulls the trigger. I'd like a bigger gun, just for effect, but a small one won't kill immediately. And I like the idea of them dying slowly in a pool of their own filth.
And the cases of 'away for life' and 'death penalty' only apply if the attacker tries to kill the victem (regardless of success).
Ahh more proof supporting Thomas Hobbes. He was an Enlightenment thinker who thought that humans are naturally depraved brutes.
