G4 game channel going to pot

I've watched The G4 channel quite a bit and the whole thing is going downhill. :mad: It started well, but has been really gone downhill since the merger with tech TV. Originally the shows were good except Blister which was thankfully cut. Bill Sindelar and Tommy Tallirico are some of the most annoying hosts ever. The new techTV shows are alright (I'm partial to X-play). I'm sorry to see that portal ended, I enjoyed it a lot. What really gets annoying is the constant amount of corporate ads. An example would be on G4TV.com every episode they have the Juicy fruit TWISTED AND SWEET award :rolleyes3 Cheat tries to shoe horn pringles into everything! Does anyone else have similar feelings?

I have the EXACT same feelings. Bill Sindelar and Tommy Tallirico aren't gamers. They're (poor) actors, failing pathetically at trying to be gamers. X-Play really is the ONLY thing I watch on that network.

I was a big fan of TechTV (Even in the ZDTV days) before the merger. I had never even heard of G4. Still shaky on the details, but all the shows I watched on TechTV suck now and/or are never on. Yep, the only remaining thing they have on that channel is Last Exile and a few other animes. A shame, really.

I HATE G4 THEY CANCELLED UNSCREWED!! THOSE BASTARDS!!!

And they changed Screensavers, i use to want to get the Screensavers tattooed on me.

G4 was NEVER good. It was always :skull::skull::skull::skull:ty!

Its starting to go down bad.

I only like X-play, judgement day, and icons.

G4TV has always sucked, and it just happened to suck even more after the merger. ZeZipster is right, and X-Play is the only worthwhile show on the network.

The problems I have with G4-TechTV:

Morgan Webb: You're not a true gamer. You're not fooling anyone.
Tommy Tallirico: I think the Penny-Arcade link I posted was inspired after you.
Commercials: They have like four to six commercials that try to trick you into thinking it is easy and affordable to get into a respectable college for game design that run every commercial break. "Can you beLIEve we get paid to play games?!" No.

In fact, the only good thing to come out of G4 is "Icons", and I am starting to get tired of the constant reruns.

What happened to the days when G4 featured old stuff, like when they had those old game shows where you got to play arcade games? That was cool.

G4: Channel of Cheese. Diane Mizota's fine, but that's the only reason for watching Filter. And I can get photos of her off the net so that defeats the purpose. I watch episodes of Judgement Day and Electric Playground every so often to get reviews on games, however I find Game Informer to be a much better source for game reviews. I like Cinematech to see how games look, and that's the one show on G4 that I can say that I truly enjoy watching.

I thought it was the best thing since the Matrix when It first appeared on my cable service back when it was fresh, but now, oh god it blows.

I can't bring myself to laugh at the numorous, pathetic attempts at humor. I can't laugh at all when I view some stupid commercial with some Webb fanboy or some host thinking that acting like someone who should be put in some straight jacket is actually funny. However, my eyes. Oh, how they roll. HOW THEY ROLL.

I only watch it for X-Play and Magical Shopping Arcade Abenoboshi

G4 ... funny station. Some of the shows aired are really insulting to one's intellegence. For example - shows like "arena" and "players" where we get to watch other people play videogames! Sounds great on paper right?! Who could have possibley thought so much would be lost in the translation?!

I agree somewhat. I Love x-play. Unscrewed was really good to that kinda mad me mad. I didnt have g4 before the merge so I guess I cant really complain. having it how it is now is better than not having it at all, right.

well i agree with dking but i am not really mad because i dont blame them. "they make all that money from having a programe on satilite so they can bye all the pot they want and over in LA they praly get the good stuff.

Yeah... Tommy Tallirico isn't a gamer...
... He only has his own game music company and hosts not one, but TWO shows where he has to play games in order to review them...

G4's still the only channel I watch on TV (Well, I watch Lost, but that's only an hour a week), mainly because all the other time, I'm playing video games, and I thought G4 was a lot better before the merge. X-Play was the only good thing that came out of the merge, but I'd rather have good ol' G4 with it's 1-word show titles (seriously. Blister, Portal, Filter, Cinematech, Cheat!... all one worders) than have X-Play and all the crap that came with it.

Spy School should've came with it, though. That show was awesome.

Portal was also one of my favorite shows. It was the only "Show" on G4 (with a story and all that jazz).

And what the devil is with "The G-Spot?" I can't stand whenever that commercial comes on, simply because they say "G-Spot" about 7 times in 45 seconds, and trying to pass it off like it has no sexual connotation. And there's no point to it! There's not even a theme for the three shows in the "G-Spot." Maybe G4 is getting too G4ngsta for me.

yeah that pissed me off also.I hate that show X-Play mainly because morgan isnt hot and they give games bad reviews if they suck at them.Like how they gave FF7 a 2 out of 5.I also hate that G-

That show with the hot asian chick was Filter, and the hot asian chick was Diane Mizota.

Meh, I like G4-TechTV. ^.^; Filter, Icons, Judgement Day, Cinematech, X-Play (*hearts*), and a few other shows keep me watching. Then again, I'm not exactly hard to entertain, so maybe that's got something to do with it. Plus I never saw the channels before the merger either, so...meh. Still like it. XD;

I personally liked it when they merged. I used to watch it mainly for Extended/X-Play, but now they have some good shows like Filter, Icons, and stuff. Too bad they took off Unscrewed(probably because they were adverting porn) and I was kind of akin to Pulse as well. Screen Savers sucks royally now. Also, I like G4tv.com, yeah. BTW, has anyone noticed that we're seeing more of G4 and less of Tech TV? Like, when they're rolling the credits, they rearely show the old credits thing anymore and put some crappy one up with stupid-looking cosplayers.

Well not anymore it's just G4TV now. They completly dropped the TechTV logo and name.
