this is to compliment that FF6 character actor thread. i think that if they made a movie, they should pick Eminem for cloud, Mr.T for barrett, paris hilton as aeris, pamela anderson as Tifa, and it should be directed by Uwe Boll (house of the dead, alone in the dark, bloodrayne)
Hmm...I always thought that Cassie Steele would make a good Tifa for some reason. I also thought that Aeris should be played by Alexis Bledel. I don't know about anyone else though...Yuffie should probably be played by someone who's Japanese because I think that she's Japanese in the game. I think Wutai is a Japanese town, but I'm not positive. I don't know of any Japanese actresses though.
I could go with Paris as Aeris only because I'd get a chance to see Paris Hilton getting stabbed by a very sharp pointy object. But even then, PLEASE NO! NOT THAT ALIEN.
Anyway, Keanu Reeves as Cloud? Tom Cruise as Vincent?
barret - michael clarke duncan (armageddon) or wesley snipes
cloud - hmmm...keanu reeves would probably the best bet but he'd look weird with blonde hair
tifa - dunno really
aeris - liv tyler plays these sorta roles well just look at her in LOTR
vincent - tom cruise is way too short for this role and dont think he would suit it, if brandon lee was still alive he'd be perfect or maybe johnny depp but....
sephiroth - johnny depp would be better suited to play sephiroth imo
cid - ive always imagined cid as a sorta bruce willis looking guy
cait sith and yuffie - lets just quietly kill these two characthers at the beggining in fact lets kill em before the film is set so we dont have to see em
I think Keanu Reeves would be a better vince. Sephiroth is a tough one to pick out.
the actors for ff7 are a hell of a lot harder than ff8 but i agree Barret= Weasley snipes

but Tom cruise, all tho may sound stupid, if they had to pick any english actor for vincent, it should be him.(height has nothing to do with it, hell they make vin diesel seem 2 ft taller than he really is, hes only like 5'8)

I'm more partial to the idea of Ralph Fiennes as Vincent. He's great at playing tortured, internalized characters.
As for Anthony Hopkins, I think it'd be interesting to see what he could do as President ShinRa.

My roles:
Cloud: Steve Burton (he did Cloud's voice in KH so Square will prob use him again)
Barret: Samuel L. Jackson (lol I know, i just think hes bad ass. I don't see how everyone wants Mr. T hes not perfect for it...)
Tifa: Liv Tyler (she would do good but Square will prob get someone else)
Aeris: Mandy Moore (did Aeris in KH, she did a good job)
RedXIII: Hmmm I don't know
Cid: Wow this one is tough i couldn't think of anything
Vincent: Johnny Depp (I think he would do awesome in this role)

Sephiroth: Lance Bass (yes I know, horrible person, hopefully they will change it, but I somehow think they will use him again)
All in all though, the Japanese voices make these roles petty... Vincents japanese voice is just awesome. And Tifa's sounds perfect as well as Cloud's voice....Barrets, Yuffies, Cids..etc!!

they will most likely use anime voice-actors for this, not A-List celebs

How coudl anyone have missed the most badass of badass actors for Barret? VING FREAKING RHAMES. Ving Rhames. come on, he's huge, he'd do wonders for the role. But i must admit, via AC, he doesn't look ANYTHING like him (actually look's more like X-zibit... god no..... not X-hibit...) (btw, for some of the above, i think we're looking for actors to play a LIVE version, not an animated)

Yuffie: Allison Mack
Cid: DEnis Leary is tight, but he doesn't look right. meh. Leary rocks.
Rufus: Michael Rosenbaum (alright, I know. the third person from smallville. THEY FIT DAMMIT! lol)
Sephiroth: MARYLIN MANSON! come on people. look at the advent children screens. Manson has SO got this wrapped up. and the voice is magnificent. Intelligent, Insane, and Evil all at once. (I wonder if he can act though....)
