It's illegal. Most of it, anyway. :twak:
Yer I guess it is.
I feel all dirty now
Eh, don't worry about it, as long as it's not being targeted. If there's increase worry about LimeWire getting targeted, you may want to stop. Or something like that.
I dont really care if there goin after it
I mean Im never goin to have to buy a CD ever and ever and ever again. Its too good to be true *drools*
I have limewire!!
Then you know how good it isQuote:

LimeWire is probably the worst P2P program I have ever used, but I haven't used it in over 2 years, it might be better now I guess...
Yay! Me too! [img]http://home.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/heart.gif[/img]Quote:

Limewire sucks Ares is much better. :p
The only problem is there is a large number on Hentai.
If you dont know what that is. I advise not a research
I like LimeWire and I believe it's legal in Canada because it is legal to download music here. I don't think that it's legal in the US though.
I guess you get some advantages when you're forced to live with polar bears.

I don't like Ares...it doesn't have as much as Limewire does.
*shrivels up in fear*
I have friends that use Limewire, but I personally prefer Shareaza. It uses the Gnutella2 network (what Limewire uses) but can also use Gnutella1, eDonkey, and can be used for torrents and standard HTTP/FTP downloads. Did I mention it's OSS?
Yeah. It rocks it.
yeah, its illegal. but unless you download a -load of tracks you should be ok.
I download stuff, but i still buy cd's- especially of underground bands cos they need the money :D
Help me out here...what system leaves the LEAST amount of spyware? Iunno much about Limewire, so I'd like to hear what it has in that sense.
bit torrent.
Warez P2P (aka Ares), Morpheus, and Limewire have zero spyware. I know last time I checked you were using that "Blubster" program, that gave me more spyware in 30 seconds than I've gotten from using IE to surf newgrounds for 2 years. It gave me so much spyware it basically killed my computer until I reformatted (I had 566MHZ at that point).Quote:

Limewire wasn't that impressive.
I know lot's of people who've had lots of problems with corrupted files on limewire. That's why I don't liek it. Althought since I don't have the internet right now it really doesn't make a difference to me :p
Hmm...I've never had that problem. I used to have it CONSTANTLY with Kazaalite though.Quote:

Apparantly, I speak in some ancient, archaic tongue that is unintelligible by today's standards of language.
Yes you do. Oh what were you saying? :D
whats the site address for lymewire?
Did you know, that you could get limewire pro from limewire? :P and then you're classed as a paid user. I didn't until my ex showed me lol.
I love free music downloading as much as the next person, and used Limewire for years.
HOWEVER, if you live in the U.S., it's just getting too dangerous. I wouldn't use it, or any other P2P if I were you. The RIAA has tracking programs, which it can legally use to trace where songs go over these programs to your ISP. It can then court order the ISP to give them your personal info, so they can come after you. As a college student, I used to think I was invulnerable, but in the last year, they've cracked down, and I've seen many people I know get sued. The college tried to protect them, but if they didn't erase the files when the college warned the RIAA was knocking, they got served.
And if you think that they only come after the big downloaders, that's not true. My housemate, using Limewire, downloaded only 25 songs, and she was traced and the RIAA tried to get her name from the school. Luckily, she took the school's warning and cleared her hardrive before her user info was called up. However, if you're not in school, or if you're school doesn't care, you're unlikely to get this warning. I think the going price right now is like, thousands of dollars PER SONG.
I hate the fact that I can't download songs for free anymore, but 99 cents an mp3 on iTunes is better than a lawsuit. Also if you drink Pepsi or Coke, they give away free iTunes downloads as a promotion.
Limewire isn't shut down because the RIAA has found it more effective to attack individuals than programs. If they shut down Limewire (a la Napster), another program will just pop up. But suing kids makes people scared. Well, I held out, but its worked for me. Make your own choices, but beware.
Hahaha, I want them to track me and come to my house...and sue my dad (who's name the internet account is under). xD
I'm really not worried.
I use Limewire PRO
Why in the world would you pay for a P2P program like Limewire?Quote:

i dislike limewire but i still use it cuz im lame :P *lazy*
and in certain countries *cough* canada *cough* it IS legal.
but i suggest itunes if your wanting to be careful, they give away alot of free songs and have just about anything. <-- guaranteed to be a full non eeeee song...
Bit Torrent has a P2P-like program out with the sharing of torrents called exeem, though I didn't like it much. I'll use bit torrent most of the time, sometimes dc++, and the rest suck. LimeWire I've never tried.
If you're on a College campus that has Internet2, chances are you can connect to the I2hub network. It lets me download episodes of Lost and Alias in under 10 minutes, it's so awesome.
But yeah, a few days ago a couple kids got served notices from the school saying that the RIAA demanded student info on students who were downloading music illegally.
I haven't downloaded music in ages, other than the stuff I get on itunes so that doesn't really concern me. :)
I didn't think too much of it, to be honest.
I download rare themes and remixes that you can't buy in the shops, and Limewire never seemed to be able to find anything for me.
I still use it all the time. Just because you can't download the program from the old official website doesn't mean you can't get it. I set someone up with it just the other day.Quote:
