There are way too many threads based on the video game characters that we hate. It's time we started focusing our attention on positive things. So what characters do you love?
As for me, The characters that would be on the top of my list are Elly from Xenogears, Terra and Celes from FFVI, and Squall/Rinoa/Selphie from FFVIII. I also love Aeris and Vincent from FF7, and to a lesser degree, Cloud.
hm.. I really love Ryo from Shenmue 1 + 2, not to mention his counterpart in the game but i dont know her name.
Kuja is kick ass, so is Eve and Aya from parasite eve ^_^
Ive also had a crush on Sora ever since i saw some yaoi with him in it >.< hes soo cute!
and last but not least I like Yuna Gunner style and Paine all styles
Elhaym van Houten - Xenogears. Gosh I love Elly. Terra and Rydia kick mucho asses. Aeris... Rikku... Rika from Phantasy Star 4. Jade from Beyond Good and Evil. Just love pretty friendly girls I guess. Rinoa and Selphie were cool. But really, nobody compares to Elly. Even though she didn't start out friendly. Her character was complex and realistic, and the game was flooded with character development. Just puts her at the top of the pile no matter how I stack the deck.

I've had a thing for Luigi as long as I can remember.
I forgot to mention Rydia. She MADE FFIV. Seriously, the game would be nothing without Rydia.
And I agree with everything you said, Vyk, about Elly.

I'd have to say Aeris from FF7.

Her death was very significant to the story... Her cause was also very mysterious, and you only really find out what she was trying to accomplish late in the game. I felt so sorry for her when her parents were killed, growing up in the slums. Also, she is the person who pulled Cloud out of the lifestream at the end of the game.
FF7 simply would not have the emotional depth it had without poor aeris' death, and her connection throughout the story. I can't remember exactly what happened in the City of the Ancients late in the game when you were looking for the key (underwater cave somewhere), but it was also very important to the plot.
Aeris' death gave everyone motivation and determination in the party. She was crucial to FF7.

OOo. I like this thread; there has been a lot of "hate" threads, so it's always good to have some happy stuff mixed in with it.
That said...
--Vincent from Silent Hill 3. I LOVE him. Not because of his looks, but he's just such an interesting and mysterious character. He (actually, everyone in that game) also moves so realistically, it's just amazing to watch him.
---James from Silent Hill 2. He's an excellent character, and I found his journey to be one of the more emotional, powerful ones, in any game or book, or movie I've ever experienced. Well, when you take the games seriously, like I do, at least. =D

---Inuart from Drakengard. He's extremely unique, and whenever he's onscreen, it's great.

I like Squall, Vincent, Irvine, Rinoa, Seifer, and Cloud. Don't understand the love triangle though...(SPOILER)The love triangle of Squall loving Rinoa, Rinoa loving Seifer, Seifer hating everyone. It breaks up the love and makes the story better. What is with Rinoa loving Seifer or whatever relationship she has with him. I guess she doesn't reallt like him because whats with the scene with Squall and Rinoa at the end? Whatever... I still like Cloud and will never forget what happened.(SPOILER)What's with the Mako poisoning? Either way he was so poor and I really wanted to help him. They shouldn't have made that scene!!!!!! It's too sad. Irvine is so cute so I think he explains myself. I think I should stop now...
