I watch Raw sometimes. It has a lot more of my favorite people, like HBK, Jericho, Edge, Christian, Benoit. I wish HHH would stop getting the belt. Do something else for a change!
I haven't missed any WWF/WWE shows since '98, so I guess you could say I'm a rather big fan of the sport.
Oh, and Kurt Angle does not suck.
Actually, it did. Batista is now the new World Heavyweight Champion :DQuote:

I didn't get that one. Just one thing... HHH s*cks.
Many people are frustrated with HHH's monster-push. However, he does bring in satisfactory ratings, and I wouldn't say his constant presence has a detrimental effect on the overall quality of the show. I like HHH. He's a good character, and his wrestling ability is second-to-none. But, you're right, it can be a little too much sometimes, and it's always good to give someone else "the ball" to run with from time to time.
The bottom line is, I enjoy watching wrestling. I enjoy watching good matches involving superstars who can actually work the crowd and ... believe it or not - wrestle! The WWE might not always stage world-class matches and scenarios, but the action side of the product has definitely improved over the last few years.
To add a little more to this thread, why not list your top 10 favourite matches (if you have that many). Here's mine (in no particular order):
1) Kurt Angle Vs Chris Benoit, WWE Championship - Royal Rumble 2003.
2) Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs The Rock, WWE Championship - Wrestlemania XVII.
3) Kurt Angle Vs Chris Benoit - Unforgiven 2002.
4) Shawn Michaels Vs The Undertaker, Hell In The Cell - Badd Blood 1997.
5) Kurt Angle Vs Edge - Backlash 2002.
6) Kurt Angle Vs Edge - Judgment Day 2002.
7) Shawn Michaels Vs Chris Jericho - Wrestlemania XIX.
8) Shawn Michaels Vs Chris Benoit Vs HHH - Wrestlemania XX.
9) Randy Orton Vs Chris Benoit - Summerslam 2004.
10) Randy Orton Vs Edge - Vengeance 2004.
There you go. :)
My God, that was dire! Seriously. That match made 12 minutes seem like 30! xDQuote:
Undertaker vs. Undertaker
Undertaker Vs. Undertaker?
I can't remember my top10 matches but i really loved the way Undertaker reversed Randy Orton's tombstone at Wrestlemania 21 to win. NOTE: Undertaker RULES!!!
The match in question took place at Summerslam 1994. The original Undertaker disappeared, and Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase claimed he had found him. This fake 'Taker (or "The Underfaker", as I affectionately called him) began to work for Dibiase's evil corporation, and accepted bribes from Uncle Teddy.Quote:

Any other questions? ;)
You really KNOW a lot o.O
Just a doubt. I have two Wrestling games:
WWF Road to Wrestlemania
WWE Survivor Series
If JBL already existed in WWF Road to Wrestlemania why doesn't it appear in Survivor Series?
Because he's a useless jobber who needs to try salad once in a while?Quote:

My favorite match is Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect for the Intercontinental title. Also, Bret vs. British Bulldog for that same title, about a year later.
Does anyone have The Rock's theme song?
Possibly.Quote:

I like Orton too. Probably my favorite of the up and coming guys. Not a big fan of Cena. On Smackdown! I like Angle, Mysterio, Booker T, RVD, and Eddie Guerrero. Rey Mysterio is probably the most entertaining wrester I've ever seen. He does such amazing things in the ring. I miss Angle's dorky days.
The Hitman is my favorite ever, though.
I'm not the avid wrestling fan I use to be, but I remember when Bob Backlund lost some title to Bret Hart and then went beserk and put the chicken wing on Hart. Hart tried to shake his hand after a great match with Backlund, but to no avail. Maybe during the 1992 year, the year Backlund started "running" for President.
I remember it well. Backlund was simply terrible. xDQuote:

(sure he couldn't pull off certain things, but hey the guy can ALWAYS pull crowd support) i really loved how he showed up the first time from the crowd and slowly got worked in as a wrestler. Great story and I wish they had kept it going.
Yeah, mysterio does not have so much brute strenght to throw your enemies around but still he uses his endurance and agility and is really entertaining.
For some reason, I just remembered a punishing match:
Undertaker vs Mankind in hell in a cell
WOW
Mysterio can work with anyone on the roster, and that's what makes him stand out from all the other Cruiserweights. If you put Rey in a match with useless tubs of lard like the Big Show and Viscera, you'd still get an entertaining contest. The only other person on the roster who is capable of making their opponents look ten times better than they actually are is - of course - Kurt Angle.Quote:

I still like Benoit, though.
My favourite one was when Hulk Hogan came in when two other wrestlers were blithering on about something. He beat them both. Then, one of them hit him on the back with a chair, but he just turned around and beat them both again.
He's a real man. They just don't make real men like they used to.

I also have to agree with most of the people who have already posted their displeasure about the HHH show and his never ending quest to beat Ric Flair's record. While HHH is a talented wrestler, he needs to let other people have a shot at the belt. He's married to the boss's daughter so it's not like he has to worry about losing his spot to anyone. But what do you expect from a guy who had to job to the Ultimate Warrior in 90 seconds at his first Wrestlemania apperance. You can't blame him for being cautious now can you. My friends and I always compare him and the belt to Gollum and the Ring"
As for my top 10 matches of all time? Some of them have already been mentioned but I'll list them anyway.
10. Wrestlemaina XVIII: - The Rock vs Hollywood Hulk Hogan This match is on this list because I was actually there for it. I was in the Skydome along with 68,000 other people going insane for this match. I'm not a big fan of either man. From a purely technical standpoint, this match sucks. You can't have a good match for 30 minutes with two guys who only know 9 moves collectively. But the heat going into this match was incredible, the atmosphere in the Skydome was nuts and watching these two gaints of the industry was truly a sight to behold.
9. Wrestlemania 3: I.C. Title Match - Randy "Macho Man" Savage(c) vs Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat I can't remember how many 2 1/2 counts they had in this match, but this match definatly stole the show that night.
8. Summerslam '92: I.C.Title Match - Bret "The Hitman" Hart(c) vs "The British Bulldog" Davy Boy Smith. The crowd at Wembly Stadium went absolutle nuts when the hometown boy won this match. And like the last match, no flashy finishes either. Just a small package was all it took after this battle.
7. Summerslam '91: I.C. Title Match - Mr. Perfect(c) vs Bret "The Hitman" Hart This was the match that elevated Bret Hart as a singles wrestler. He goes out there and puts on a killer match. Kudos to Mr. Perfect as well since his back was in really bad shape at the time of this match.
6. April 2, 1989 - NWA Clash of the Champions #6: World Heavyweight Title Match: Best 2 out of 3 falls - Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat(c) vs The Nature Boy" Ric Flair If you want to see NWA/WCW or either one of these men at their best, then watch this match. They went for almost 45 minutes and put on a wrestling clinic that left you on the edge of your seat the entire time.
5. Royal Rumble '92: Royal Rumble match. The winner becomes WWF champion - Winner: Ric Flair If anyone has any doubt about how good Ric Flair was back during his prime? Check this match out and watch Rick Flair carry 29 other guys to becoming the WWF champ. He came in at number 3, lasted 59 minutes and 26 seconds (a record at the time) and the crowd at Albany that night went nuts. An effort like that wouldn't be matched for another 12 years when Benoit went in at #1 lasted 61 minutes and 35 seconds and became the only man since HBK to go the distance and win the Rumble.
4. Halloween Havoc '97: Title vs Mask match for the WCW Cruiserweight title -Eddie Guerrero(c) vs Rey Mysterio Jr. This was done during the hayday of WCW's cruiserweight division. With guys like Mysterio, Guerrero, Ultimo Dragon, Jericho, Dean Malenko, Juventud Guerrera and many others, this was the reason why I watched WCW. Mysterio and Guerrero put on 15 minutes of the fast paced action that I had never seen before. This was the match that introduced me to the true Mexican Lucha Libre style.
3. Wrestlmania XIII: I Quit match - Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Bret "The Hitman" Hart This was the match that turned Stone Cold from superstar to megastar. The match itself was great. The double turn was done to perfection and that image of Austin covered in blood, screaming in pain but never giving up would sell more t-shirts than Austin 3:16 could ever hope for. Although Austin's first title reign wouldn't come for another year, this match was part of the reason why everyone wanted it to happen.
2. Wrestlemania XX: Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Title - HHH(c) vs HBK vs "The Rabid Wolverine" Christ Benoit Best Wrestlemania match of all time. It had some great spots throughout such as HHH grabing HBK's hand so that he couldn't tap out to Benoit, HHH and HBK teaming up to throw Benoit through the table, HBK's moonsault from the top rope to the outside onto HHH and Benoit and finally HHH tapping to Benoit's Crippler Crossface. Benoit deserved this match and the title that day and I hope he gets another chance to wear the gold again soon.
1. Royal Rumble 2003: WWE Title Match - Kurt Angle(c) vs "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit: This is the best match in the history of professional wrestling. Period. It was just two guys who could wrestle, giving it their all for 25 minutes. These two showed why they are two of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time. And while some submission matches may be boring, this one was anything but. And the best part about it was that their was no interference. Benoit may have lost the match but the people at the Fleet Center in Boston didn't care and gave the man a standing ovation. One that both men rightly deserved.
I have a few other favourites but those are my top 10.
chaos: I watch it from time to time, for fun. Back in the day, though, I was a huge fan of both Bret and Owen. It's a shame that Owen died after the cable that was supposed to take him down like a superhero snapped, and he hit his head on the turnbuckle.
Rubedo: And Kurt Angle is awesome!
HHH is the best and he'll kill batista at backlash.

Um, I believe I'm the only girl here that watchs Smackdown AND Raw. I think Kurt Angle sucks. Batista is hott. The Rock rocks. "Can you smell what the Rock is cookin'?" I liked it when Stephenie was the GM. She rocked too. The Undertaker is and always will be my favorite wrestler. Triple H needs to die. Lita and Kane rock. Trish, I feel sorry for Trish after what happened to her on Raw on Monday. Too sad. Its really sick to see Kane and Lita kiss. I have been watching Smackdown since '98. I think I shouldn't be saying anymore before you start thinking I'm weird.
Ya know what, 'Taker's my favourite too. Look at my profile picture.Quote:

I couldn't stand when Stephenie was GM. The less Vince and his family are on T.V., the better. Teddy Long is doing a great job as GM, but I miss Paul Heymen.Quote:

I think Teddy Long is too over the top sometimes with that walk of his. But I just wish Vince would give him a better cast, I mean HBK, Hogan(though not as much), Stone Cold(even though he had one guest appearance), and such are always on RAW. But Brock Lesnar, IMO, was a very enjoyable champion. He was probably the biggest ratings draw on SD! before he left.Quote:

Well they did announce another draft in about a month, so it ahould be interesting to see who goes where and how it will pan out. While the draft was a ratings success last year, they've only been able to make one star of all of the guys traded and that was Shelton Benjeman.
If they make some stars out of the guys they trade back and forth this time or at least trade some bigger names such as Jericho, Angle, HBK or Edge, then it would be better for both shows.
Edge rocks! Jericho's good too.
I thought Orton would go to SD!, but then he went back to RAW and reinjured his shoulder against Batista and is now out for at least the summer.Quote:

The Goldberg vs. Brock match turned out to be a dud.
Actually, Randy Orton injured his shoulder about three weeks before Wrestlemania. The claims that Batista injured his shoulder are purely for storyline purposes (and it'll give Orton something to do once he returns in about six months). Heh - Batista totally destroyed Orton on Raw. 'Twas great.Quote:

Batista is probably around 6'3", whereas HHH is probably around 6'2". I don't doubt his weight for a second, though. Take one look at those pectorial muscles, those huge arms and that massive chest, and you can see where the 315-317 lbs are. Although HHH is a big guy, he's got nothing on Batista when it comes to muscle mass.Quote:

Back in 2002 - after his quadriceps tear - HHH rehabbed like crazy and came back looking like a radioactive triceratops, and he weighed approximately 275lbs for most of the year. Unfortunately for Tripper (who is a big bodybuilding enthusiast), his muscle mass started to disintigrate after various injuries during 2003. Thankfully, he decided not to try and gain this mass back, and, as a result, his performances have improved considerably over 2004-2005, and his injuries have been few and far between.

MNM and the Heart Throbs = ratings.
The Tag Team divisions on both shows are still in complete disarray, though.
I'm not too sure about The Heart Throbs (they haven't looked very good in the ring so far), but MNM are the best thing on Smackdown at the moment. Just a note: MNM aren't going to be sued by Eminem - that's just silly. MNM aren't even rappers, they're Hollywood wannabes.Quote:

Having said all that, the ratings are increasing at a healthy rate at the moment, so WWE must be doing something right.
JBL was awesome around December onwards. And I don't think you've really given Cena and Batistia much of a chance, as they JUST won the titles, and haven't really been given time to show off what they have to offer. Besides that, neither are in any new fueds yet.
Here's to Christian jumping to SmackDown! during the Draft Lottery and fueding with John Cena. <3
I don't get the John Cena bashing. He's at least above average in the ring, there's no question about how over he is - he's the most over champion since The Rock / Stone Cold. People have been questioning who the next Rock/Austin is going to be, well you've got him - Cena.
His moveset is more than acceptable. He's got a gimmick that isn't as stupiud as it's made out to be. The crowd has a total hard-on for him. He's had credible feuds with big-name wrestlers. He's got mic skills. Charisma. EVERYTHING. Sure, he's not Benoit in the ring, but he not Nathan Jones either.
Batista was good before he turned on Evolution. After that he was boring. I can't see Batista staying in the position he's in for very long at all.
Credible fueds with big name wrestlers? As much as I enjoy JBL, he isn't a big name, and having squash matches with Rene Dupree and Orlando Jordan won't work, especially since he's the show's heavyweight champion. He can certainly go against better opponents, though.Quote:
He's had credible feuds with big-name wrestlers.
You can't really blame him for that, though. He's been involved with Triple H angles since he started getting face pops, and hasn't really fought any big name opponent not named Triple H in quite awhile. He'll be much more watchable as a champion once this fued with Triple H -finally- ends.Quote:
Batista was good before he turned on Evolution. After that he was boring. I can't see Batista staying in the position he's in for very long at all.
Brock Lesnar
Eddie Guerrero
THE UNDERTAKER
At Vengance '03 UT put him over big time by getting across that while Cena didn't beat him, he "took him to his limits." He also had confrontations with Vince McMahon and Stephanie.
(SPOILER)Batista's fued with HHH won't be over any time soon. At Vengance they're having a Hell in a Cell. VENGENCE. JUNE. It's APRIL now. Their fued started in JANUARY.
The mic skill of Batista is evidently bad. He's enjoyable to watch, but like Benoit, his reign as champion will be short. Benoit is a great talent, but really isn't The Rock or Y2J on the mic, and that really hurts your chances of being champion for long.
Which is why JBL is more of an enigma. He sucks at the mic, he has limited in-ring skills, and is grotesquely overweight (compared to other wrestlers). I'm not asking for JBL to have a strong body, but gawd...he's suppose to be in more shape than that. Kurt Angle is probably the most reasonable WWE champion on SD!, he has everything a champion should be. Good mic skills and ring skills.
Brock was just a machine, and people loved watching him in the ring. Even though he was bad on the mic, he was really great when he kept F5ing TBS...which awes me even to this day.
Are you mad? JBL has great mic skills! Much better than the current skills of Kurt Angle. I don't like how his character has been treated. He's ment to be the naive, innocent, pansy-like American Hero, telling the crowd how great he is in his geek self centered way, not hosting a Jobber Destruction Tour and yelling "I'M GONNA MAKE YOU TAPPPPPP!!!"
Although I did love him on commentary.
Angle: Oh my gosh!
JBL: Did you say 'oh my gosh'!?
Angle: Sorry, I don't swear like you.
JBL: You don't deserve to be champion, you curse like a grade schooler!
Pure gold.
JBL's mic skills have improved, but they still suck. JBL drew almost drew less money than Kevin Nash did when he was WWF Champ 10 years ago. Which makes sense considering that both men only know about 2 or 3 moves each.
As for Cena? He may be the most over guy on Smackdown right now next to Eddy Guerrero, but he hasn't improved at all in the last year. His in ring work isn't what it should be and his gimmick has grown very stale. If the crowd has this "total hard-on for him" then wouldn't the crowd have been more excited when Cena beat JBL at WMXXI? When John Cena won the WWE Title, the crowd at WMXXI couldn't have cared less. They were almost silent when Cena won that match.
The match was absoluteand the ending was anti-climactic. I'm not saying I love Cena or anything, actually I hate how his character is being treated right now, but the crowd loves him and he's more over than Eddy.
Yeah, JBL sucks big time in the ring, no one can deny that, but outside, he was bloody entertaining. For pure entertainment, he was better than:
Benoit
Guerrero
Trips (much)
Batista
Cena
Angle
Show
Micheals
almost every other champ is recent memory. Sure, I perfer most of them to JBL, but he owned them as far as being an entertaining champion goes. Besides, I no longer watch WWE expecting any match above **, because it's doubtable they'll give it to you, maybe once every three months or so. I've got ROH and Japan for match quality.
Carlito's gonna be a big star. Cena seems like a Austin/Hogan combonation, while Carlito has his own feel. They need to bring in a big name star to have a career-making fued with CCC. I'm hoping the Rock. The chemistry they would have in promos/matches would be off the charts.
He was champion from Wrestlemania XX to SummerSlam..that's not short at all. At least WWE came out of its 'New champion every month' phase.Quote:

Maybe things aren't quite as bad as they seem.

I don't think the main titles should change hands on TV. Sure, it's surprising and it gives the casual fan something to get excited about, but it won't get great PPV purchase results. The Monday Night Wars ended a long time ago, and Raw/Smackdown ratings aren't as important as they used to be (although they are still a major factor).
When titles only change hands on the Supercards, it makes more people shell out their hard earned cash to watch these "special shows", which can only be a good thing for the company and the wrestling business. Also, it makes the belts seem that little bit more special.
I always forget Lesnar/Angle, despite me having it on tape and it being the best of the 4 modern Ironman matches. Most likley because I didn't regularly watch at that time. (WM 18 = HUGE turnoff to WWE)
Same here. Hulk Hogan winning the title one month later almost made me quit watching altogether. I managed to survive through this difficult period, though, and I'm glad I did. WWE shows are so much better these days. Better than 2002, anyway.Quote:

How I'm more into it than ever.
With RAW moving back to USA, TNA may try to get a Spike TV spot, but they're of no thread - they're on their last legs. ROH though ... the number of smart fans wanting good workrate/match quality is steadily increasing, so if they got a deal I think they could pose a noticable thread to WWE's ratings.
I'd probebly watch ROH, but tape RAW/SD, just to give ROH the ratings.
TNA is horrible. xD
Test and Albert?
They sucked but that's not what Strawberry Gashes is talking about. he's talking about TNA/NWA. They're a promotion owed but Jerry and Jeff Jarrett. Jeff Jarrett is the champion over there at the moment. The X Division that they have is alot like WCW's Cruiserweight divsion, but that's the only reason why I watch it. Given the choice between watching Triple H squashing guys week after week or Double J squashing guys week after week, my vote goes to Triple H. That way I can see him do it to guys like Benoit and Jericho. That's better than watching Double J do it to guys like Kevin Nash, DDP or Road Do.. oops I mean B.G. James.Quote:

Trips dosn't squash people. He may defeat them, but more than likley he makes them look good. The reason he's the number one heel is because no one else can be the number one heel. Christian dosn't cut it in the ring, Edge isn't over enough in main event standards, the only one who could even be close to Trips' position is Jericho and he isn't exactly the most abitious these days.

Kane vs. Viscera
If anything else, at least the segments with Trish and Viscera have been funny. Who knew Viscera could pull something like that off? As for the match itself, it's probably going to be bad. So as long as it's short, then I don't care.
Winner: Viscera, just so I can see more of those Trish and Viscera bits.
Hogan and Michaels vs. Hassan and Daivari
I'm going to get this off my chest first. Anyone that cheered for Hogan during the HOF ceremony are SHEEP! Anyone that chanted "ONE MORE MATCH" are ****ing SHEEP! Anyone that popped huge for Hogan at MSG on RAW are god damn SHEEP!
There. I feel better. Now there is no denying what Hogan did for the business and he does deserve one more chance in the spotlight. Even I realize that. But Hogan looked horrible at WMXXI, so bad in fact that he couldn't even do a Leg Drop, so that leaves this match in the hands of HBK. I've never been a huge fan of his either but if anyone can make this match look good, it's HBK. Now if Hogan doesn't job to Hassan(which he probably won't) then this match will have been pointless. Hogan and HBK need to put aside their egos and try to make Hassan and Daivari look as strong as possible. Hogan needs to do the right thing for once in his career and put someone over in what should be his last match in the WWE. Then they can move Hassan to something more important such as a feud for the I.C. title with Benjaman or Jericho.
Winners: ALL THE STUPID SHEEP THAT WANTED HOGAN BACK FOR ONE MORE MATCH!
Last Standing Match: Edge vs. Benoit
This match has potential to steal the show. Both men have been working well together for some time now. But this match needs to be the match where Edge proves that he should be at that next level. He's in there with with one of the greatest workers out there and while that will help Edge a lot, he still needs to put some extra effort into this match so that people will start to think that he's a legitimate contender for the World Title. And like it or not, he needs to use all those "You screwed Matt." chants to continue to build himself up as an heel.
Winner: Edge
Intercontinental Championship Match: Chris Jericho vs. Shelton Benjamin(c)
This match should be good but it's a shame that they havn't really done much with Benjamin since he won the title back in Oct. 04. I wouldn't mind if they gave the title to Jericho but there's no point to that either unless he finally turns heel. Even then, it's still dumb to give the I.C. Title to Jericho because he's at the point where he's too good for that belt. he doesn't need to it get over while Benjamin could still use it. The problem with this fued is that the build up has sucked and both men are really stale. Keep the belt on Benjamin but for god sakes, TURN JERICHO HEEL ALREADY.
Winner: Sheldon Benjamin
World Heavyweight Title Match: Batista(c) vs. HHH
Batista is still pretty hot right now. Not as hot as he should be, but he still has the fans support. My main problem with this is the fact that Batista has done nothing but throw complements at HHH. Here's a tip Big Dave. YOU DON'T COMPLEMENT YOUR OPPONENT BEFORE YOU'RE ABOUT TO KICK HIS ASS. I'll be happy as long as they keep the belt on Batista and keep this match short again. Besides, all of the rumors are pointing to a Hell In The Cell Match between the two at Vengence in July and that may be a better time to give Triple H the belt.
Winner: (if they want to keep on making money)Batista
Here's a truley sick joke. Even I found it offensive when I first heard it. For those offended, don't shoot the messanger.
Why couldn't Owen Hart watch RAW after Over the Edge 99?
(SPOILER)his cable got cut
:(
If you found it offensive , then why bother posting it in the first place?
Holy GOD!
RAW was great. One of the bests I can remember.
Shawn Micheals vs. Shelton Benjamin was greatness. With me being the biggest Benjamin mark in the world it was great to see him having such a good match against a wrestler of Shawn's caliber. Shawn did a comendable job of putting Benjamin over.
Jericho/Edge was also great. The boring chant annoyed me infinitly.
HHH/Benoit ... holy damn. The match was pretty good, but the end was great. Trips tapped to Benoit AGAIN. I can't imagin that anyone though that would happen. The only thing that even comes close in supris...ness from the WWE is that JBL can actually be entertaining.
Viscera was gold last night, "I just want you to know that Big Vis is back on the market ... the black market." Best quote in a very long time. Hilarity.
After seeing what promotions like ROH and pre-split AJPW had to offer I didn't think I'd ever be this interested in WWE from a wrestling standpoint ever again. :)
I'm liking this new direction they're taking Viscera in. He's awesome now. (:
Heh, Big Vis. I always like it better when the big guys have a comedic role, rather than 'Look at me I'm so big and mean. Grrrrrrr'. That one's been done to death.
Kind of like how every time TBS gets on the mic he goes: "I'm 7' 500 lbs...blah blah blah"Quote:

Yeah, I liked it when he was goofy and dressing up like other wrestlers. He's actually pretty funny when out of character, they should let him run with it.
Do ya already know? HHH is out of RAW until Eric Bischoff gives him another chance at Batista!
After that 20 minute promo that almost put me to sleep, I stood up and cheered when HHH left. I put down my remote down after that....well, at least until Cena's music video anyway.
LOL hope someone gives a chance to HHH again...
There's going to be a Hell In A Cell match at Vengence between HHH and Batsita in June or July.
Oh, man... Has anyone saw the Gold Rush Finals? Man, Lita betrayed Kane so well in that fight...
I sold all my WWF/WWE DVDs last week, made nearly Ł1000, and decided to completely give up watching wrestling so that I can spend more time with my future Wife and her two Children.
And that's not a bad thing; that's a good thing!
;)
Typical wrestling match:
Fighter 1 gets into ring
Fighter 2 gets into ring
Stare each other out for some unfathomable reason
F1 grabs microphone
F1: YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE, F2! EITHER YOU GIVE ME THE ANTARCTICA TITLE TODAY, OR I LAYETH THE SMACKETHDOWN RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW.
F2: I DON'T THINK SO JACKASS
F1: WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?
F1 pushes F2
Start fighting
Bell rings
10 mins later...
F1 gets beat up and staggers about
F2 taunts and tries to do the finishing blow
F1 suddenly miraculously regains strength and counters attack
F2 is on floor and F1 pins
Ref: 1! 2! ................................................................break out
F1 kills referee
F2 suddenly miraculously regains strength and hits F1 across head with Steel Chair, which of course means that this is a No Weapons match. F2 pins
Ref comes back to life and does a 3 count
F1: WHAT THE *expletive* MAN!? HE USED A WEAPON
F2 extends hand
F2: Hey, good game, man.
F1: SMURF YOU!
F1 'knocks F2 out' by stepping on his foot
the inevitable interference by F2's girl
F2GIRL: What did you do that for, F1? F2....are you alright?
F1: I'LL SEND YOU TO HELL TO MEET HIM
F2GIRL: Nooooooo
F1 punches F2GIRL in stomach and she falls on the floor knocked out. Amazingly, nobody has come to stop this from happening yet
F1 takes title and walks off
Fin.
OMFG can you believe this? WWE Champion John Cena was drafted to RAW!
I've got just 5 words to say about last night's Raw. Feel free to chant along.
ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW!
I haven't had time to watch any wrestling lately, but is it true Lita divorced Kane and now is with Edge? o_O
Actually, she BETRAYED him, helping Edge winning his gold rush finals match agains Kane. Wow, what a wallet shot in the head... They even tong-kissed after the match! :tongue:Quote:

Let me get this straight. We are suppose to feel bad for Kane since his "wife" Lita betrayed him and left him for Edge, and we are suppose to forget that Kane blackmailed her into having sex with him, didn't use proper protection and impregnanted her, put her then-current boyfriend Matt Hardy in the hospital, and forced her into marrying him? Sometimes I feel embarrassed to watch this stuff.
That's probably why I don't watch WWE, much, anymore. The plots are far too hokey.
In JCW, one thing's for certain. No matter how much the wrestlers beat the hell out of each other, they're still homies when the day's done.
Man, I never saw WWE in this chaos. Randy Orton to SmackDown... Benoit back to SmackDown too... Cena and Angle to RAW... And (omg) Triple H is going tae kick Batista's @$$ in the Hell in a Cell.
this week undertaker's gonna kick randy ortons @$$ hopefully.
Randy orton :D :shoot: me
The draft lottery is over! WWE Champ to RAW and World Heavyweight Champ to SD!
I tuned in recently and I'm quite disappointed at how wrestling has changed within the past 10 years.
i mad wat happened 2 days ago on sd.UNdertaker got jumped.
All Smackdown needs to do now is trade Undertaker for Jericho and it will be the better show. At least Y2J is in the title mix now that Raw has the lesser champion.
Hay is anyone going to watch summer slam?
Looks like that big dumb slab of meat Brock Lesnar wants back in
it seems he fails in real sports
Hopefully Vince McMahon will make the choice I want him to make and say "no".
well he's already made the choice I just want it to be no.

Also, the Matt Hardy thing was worked wonderfully. With him setting up dates for indy feds & ROH it really didn't look like he'd be comming back. In the shock and amazment of the moment I actually though it was unscripted for a while.
Kudos to WWE for pulling of one of the greatest and most surreal moments in RAW history. :)

I usually watch raw. Smackdown has been very boring. I just hope that brock lesnar returns and brings some life into it. Maybe he will beat the hell out of that no talent Batista. One can only hope.
As for summerslam, I hope to god that Chris Jericho beats John Cena and takes what is rightfully his. After that, get Kurt Angle into a fued with Jericho and we got a good show.
ALL WWE FANS ON EOFF: What is your favourite wrestler? :)
Kurt Angle, definatly Kurt Freaking Angle. Best wrestler, great on the mic and can carry just about anyone to a great match.
Is that so? Mine's Hunter. TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!
That would be so awesome. Those two are my favorites.Quote:

Even as a heel Kurt Angle is always getting cheered. And its not just angle, there are so many more superstars who are way more popular than batista can hope to be. The only reason Batista is getting such a push is because they really had noone else left to fued with HHH. Originally this would/should be Orton, but the WWE ruined it by shoving the HHH/Orton fued so early down our throats.
I really still cant believe that you can even compare Cena and Batistas popularity to that of Rock/Austin. One day cena MAY become as popular as they are. But never Batista, not with his HORRIBLE in ring talent and his horrible, horrible mic skills.
At his peak, I think he was to most over since Austin/Rock, but considering he hasn't really done anything amazing, most fans will probably forget about the FRICKIN AWESOME backstage segments with Trips, and stop caring about his as much as they do currently. But right now, he's massivly over.
I finally saw Benoit vs. Austin from SD 2001 this morning. Screw WM17, THAT was the match of the year for 2001. I may post a link to it later.
cena/batista could probably be the austin/rock of today
even though austin/rock wasn't that long ago
some people complain about wwe needing a new type thing much like old nature boy/new nature boy (others would argue this is really happening with Ric Flair and Kurt Angle but I close my eyes when either of them are about so I wouldn't know - need someone smarters opinion)
of course I'm not as hardcore as them so I really just want to see someone with their skull cracked open
been meaning to follow up on the ENTIRE HBK vs. Bret Hart thing, but too lazy
I liked it for a while how chris masters sort of homage thing to the earlier (late 1800's) professional wrestling but he is boring now
ONE MATCH I'D LOVE TO SEE:
Undertaker vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Triple H vs. Chris Jericho

I'm not saying Batista's good, or that I even like him. I'm just saying he's incredibly over because he is.
On another note, Ring of Honor is the greatest promotion of all time.

In my opinion, Eddie's best.

Just watch some of his older matches (back when he first debuted and when he turned into "Thug Cena"). He has the potential.
Personally I thought the whole build up to WWXXI wasnt great at all. Not once did I get excited or pumped up. Even when Batista won I was just sitting there with a dull look on my face. Now Chris Benoit and his fued last year with HHH and his win, now THAT was great.
Now I see what you are saying, yes Batista is over. But he is nowhere near the lines of Rock, Austin, HBK, Hogan, Kurt Angle. Nor will he ever be. Vince just knew the right time and place to turn Batista face so that the crowd will love him (for what? I dunno).
MoonZapdos, yeah I think thats how it went. Either way, it was horrible for both of them.
And yes, ROH is great.
Benoit's feud was nothin, but his win was great. The matches were good, the fued was average.
With Tista/Trips, the fued was good the matches were average or worse.
And if Cena has potential to be great in the ring, that only makes it worse. Honestly I'd rather see Batista's sub-par ring work than Cena's disgustingly Hogan-esque wrestling, while KNOWING HE CAN DO BETTER. If he can do better, there's no excuse that he isn't. Although I did love Cena as a heel, he's a lazy bastard as a face.
CENA'S ARTILLARY: Hip Toss, Five-Knuckle Shuffle, F-U, Sidewalk Slam and that's it.
Quite the lame @$$ when talking about being technical.

You forgot the thumbs down taunt. And, resuming all this, Batista is just a big piece o' crap. Oh man hasn't WWE changed... Once it was JBL face and Cena hell. Now they switched places and... I don't like it at all. :mad:Quote:

Despite all the horrible things you can say about WCW, you gotta love the fact that the mid card always made for some great wrestling. Rey, Benoit, Malenko, Raven, Eddy, All the cruiserweights, it was quality.
Also, I believe I saw the greatest match in ROH history today, along with the longest match I've ever seen: Bryan Danielson vs. Austin Aries 2/3 Falls. 80 minutes long, and FRICKIN GENIUS for every second (despite Dragon's botched suicide dive).

Yeah, not detailed, but seems like a good show.
1. I never said he was better than Hunter.Quote:

And besides, two moves is an understatement. Those are just his "signature" moves. He's been seen doing things like a suplex, sidewalk slams, etc. Batista is a talented wrestler because the fans get hooked to him whereas all Cena can do is act like a moron on his microphone making the lamest jokes I've ever seen. I really never liked Cena.
3. Batista is bad on the microphone? Try RVD, hell, I have also seen Triple H be the worst actor EVER on the microphone. Sure, he's no Rock or Stone Cold, but he's not that bad.
And yes, Chris Benoit > Batista, but Batista > Cena.

RVD has great mic skills but the wwe does not allow him to use his full potential with them. And even with his limited mic, he is far better then Batista. Batista is godawfull.
"I know what you are doing hunter. STOP IT"
"Your getting an attitude adjustment"
Wow. Notice how the crow is dead silent when he says stupid stuff like that. Which happens pretty much all the time. The crowd only pops when his entrance hits, when he is shown on the titantron and he is about to win a match.
Now I will admit that john cena is pretty horrible on the mic. But at least you can tell that he is comfortable on the mic. Unlike Batista. And John Cena used to be great on the mic. Back when he was a heel.
"You're a LOUDMOUTH, you're a BULLY, and you're a PHONIE!"
Well smackdown blew today. They really need to end this stupid Rey/Eddy storyline. And they need to get Christian into the main events. I will only be watching SD! for 3 reasons now. 1) In hope that one day Christian will get the push he deserves 2) Brock Lesnar might return 3) I want to see Randy Orton kick Takers ass.

What the hell was with that attorney for Eminem and Melina? You know, the one with the "blemish"? Are they making it out to be a real blemish? Or just something she wears? I thought it was the stupidest thing ever.
i thought that the smackdown! writers went crazy and let sean waltman take over
just a dream though
just a dream
I actually quite liked Smackdown. Two **+ matches with Benoit/Booker vs. MNM and Christian vs. Mysterio. I don't see how anyone can hate the Eddie/Rey story, EDDIE IS FU(KING GOLD IN THOSE SEGMENTS. The facial expressions, the way he moves, the way he talks, he's just bloody hilarious, while comming across as a huge dick. Also, Rey's work isn't that bad either. The angle at heart may not be great, but Eddie and Rey are definitly making it work.
Also, William Regal was supposed to turn heel, but they didn't air it :( :( :(
Holy spoilers! :eek:Quote:

Then again, every year I predict this.
Didn't Bret Hart die on a wrestling accident? Or was it Owen Hart?
>>> It was Owen.
taker is the best well hes my fav never lost a match at wrestlmania
Is it seriously necessary to have a side story about one of the wrestler's children being the child of another wrestler? I mean seriously, it was completely obvious that they'd end up wrestling and it's not like anyone believes this crock, anyway. Wrestling's wrestling, for heaven's sake. The tension between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio could've easily been built up through different means, since there was already a lot of "friction"* between them.
*Quotes because no real friction exists between them.
BATISTA'S VERY TECHNICAL PRE-BOMB MOVES:
Spinebuster -> Ropes -> Spaz Attack -> Thumbs Down -> Toe Kick -> Thumbs Down -> Batista Bomb
NEW POLL: Is Batista lame?
1) Yes
2) No
He was better when he was the Leviathan or whatever, in my opinion.
The Leviathan? Never heard of that.
oh whoops
neither have I :shifty:
I think both Cena and Batista suck.
John Cena "acting black" is really lame. I switch channels when I see him on the mic because he sucks with it. Batista isn't that bad of a wrestler, but he's a crappy in-ring talent as well as being worthless on the mic.
The only reason he's WHC is because he has that "look" of a WHC. The WWE usually likes someone who is 6'4" or so with a buff body...regardless of how crappy their in-ring skills are(see The Rock). But at least The Rock was/is/will be great on the mic. Austin and Bret Hart, as well as Angle and a few others, have always had these 2 good qualities...being both good in ring and on the mic.
I was hoping to see Brock Lesnar vs. Batista match, but that won't happen anytime soon...but you can't trust WWE.com for news anyways.
But does anyone notice how "weak" Batista is for his size? I mean the guy is 6'4" and 317 lbs. (according to WWE, though I think he's more along the lines of 270 lbs). He botched realitively simple moves like the sit-down Powerbomb(Batista Bomb) on Kane and Orlando Jordan. Although Kane and OJ were fine, he didn't reach that sit-down position fully. But I guess it's because of his age (he's like, 39).
I mean when you look at Batista, that guy is as ripped as anybody (well, maybe not as much as Chris Masters) but he's really not that strong. I think that's why they switched TBS to Raw, because the WWE probably didn't want any chance of Batista feuding with TBS (or Viscera) because he'll probably break their necks botching the sit-down powerbomb.
He lied about his age, he's really like 42 or 75 or something.
Yeah, he listed himself as a 1969er, but really is 1966. Regardless, he's still old, but still has about 5 good years in the business. But he'll get a huge pop at SS since he's going back to his hometown.Quote:

Yeah, only because the crowd "needs" a face champion. Other than that, if he faced off against Austin (as a heel), he would get booed mercifully.Quote:

Because the producers decided, "Hm... It would be pretty awesome if Eddie Guerrero invited himself to Rey's life. NO WAIT. How about we make Eddie Guerrero.. the real father of Rey's son!?" And now they're settling the whole custody deal. How? BY WRESTLING.
LOL that story is making gold for WWE. That would be credible but Dominic's face is the same pie-face of Mysterio. :mad:Quote:
