Am I the only person here that is obsessed with this band? They've gotten me through so many rough times in my life that they're almost a saint to me.

I can't say that i'm obssesed but i believe it's a good band..
I wouldn't say that I'm obsessed with the band, but I consider myself a fan of their music. They are a very good and mellow band.
I like the video where everything is played backwards. Cool.
I like how very down-to-earth the band is. No rockstar BS. They've got a lot of good tunes.

To me, Coldplay are like a positive Radiohead.
Except all originality and everything that made Radiohead interesting has just been ripped out and replaced with disgustingly trite pop stylistics.
And I don't even LIKE Radiohead that much.
My fav. songs by Coldplay are Crests of Waves, I Ran Away and Moses. Trouble, Daylight, God Put A Smile On Your Face are also excellent ones. Actually, all of them are amazing. Heh.
They're ok.

Some of their songs are very listenable, if unremarkable (Yellow, Shiver). Quite often they're just a bit flat, really. Chris Martin's voice tends to waiver a bit too much between endearing and annoying.Quote:

They're good live.
Parachutes is listentoable as an album, but AROBTTH is an album you can't listen to all at once, because the songs bleed into one another and lose their standing power. Crests Of Waves is definitely their best b-side, and most of their b-sides are better than the singles themselves. Also, new album out soon and I have no idea because they've become quite irrelevant to me!!!!11111BEN
Back in 2000, everyone thought they were the next U2. Fast forward 5 years, they still aren't at U2's level when U2 came onto the scene in 5 years.
That doesn't mean they won't be, but the only song I like from them is Clocks, but I've only heard A Rush of Blood to the Head album, that's all I've heard from them. Because I like U2, I will try to give them a chance since I think U2 isn't over the top sometimes (coughmotleycruecough) and they are a calm and mellow band with great lyrics.
There's no use in comparing a band to another band. Just because they haven't reached U2's popularity, means nothing. There are SO many good bands that hardly anyone knows about.Quote:

Everything's Not Lost from the first album (Parachutes) is pretty golden. It was also the best song they performed live at San Diego on June 6, 2003. Because they just stop and everyone sings along and I could hear them all. It was amazing.
Yeah, I dig them. Neither of their albums are in my top 10, but they've got a solid amount of good songs.
Shiver.
i like coldplay
fave song: yellow and the one where they're in a warehouse
