To be a "Jedi Knight" is recognized as following an actual faith !
Apparently , the Faith of Jedi is right up there with Christianity,Islam,Hinduism etc.
May the Force be with y'all ! :)

i wish to join this religion!
xP~ I hate Star Wars, actually... =(
Whom do they pray to? Yoda?
I'm very curious as to their belief systems and structure because I find it a bit hard to believe that something created out of a movie would come to be an accepted religion. Though, then again, there is Scientology, so perhaps this isn't so far-fetched.
Take care all.
On the 2001 census, Jedi is my official religion. I heard about it on the news and I thought "Hey, if I can help something as random as that become an official religion, why not?" What religious faith I am is none of the government's business.
i remember when that cencus thing that went round a few years ago. all my friends put our relighion as jedi!
if there was a certain amount of people putting it then it became a real religion!
psy beat me to it!
*shakes fist*
I love Snopes.

Jedi can not become an "official" or "real" religion, because there is no such thing as an "official" or "real" religion. :rolleyes2
Where do I join :hyper:
False information fine? I'd like to see the Australian government prove what religious beliefs everyone follows.Quote:

Yeha, if over 1000 people have it as religion on our (UK's) census then it becomes 'authentic'. And due to this legality dooberry, Jedi is now a religion.
Wonder if it means you can take the Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith opening night as a religious holiday...
Chaos
yes!!
teehee
Nice.Quote:

From what I've dug up (it was a while ago, so bear with me), it's basically just a belief in the Force as an all-encompasing... well, force, as a sort of 'god', really. And that we're all a part of this Force, and we're all one with eachother. Which really isnt being a Jedi Knight at all, or even a Jedi (being a Jedi denotes also being a guardian and wielding a sabre and all that junk). I'll try and find the term, but offhand I cant remember.Quote:

Sounds very Zen.
Take care all.
I never said they worshipped anything, or that they believed that the Force was a god, I said it exists as a form of god, an all encompasing energy that mirrors the way some religions feel about god.
Jesus died on a cross. Obie got stabed with a light sabre. Think of how cool light sabres are, and you'll make the right decision.
yeah. blahblahblah its so coooool etc.
its not a religion by any stretch of the imagination.
Quiet sith!
You IMPLIED worship through the use of "god"Quote:

I don't doubt that some people, freaks if you will, firmly believe that Jedi is the religion of the future. But it is more than rational to suggest that once that leeked out, the vast majority of 'Jedi' followers merely put it down as a joke or a flick-of-the-wrist rebuttal of the 'Religion' question.
The actual believers would be very, very few in number. As they should be.
Personally, believing in an all-encompasing "Force" seems no less crazy than believing in a supreme being. As long as you don't expect Jedi powers... :D
lol, it sounds like something I'd put for fun, I'd still be a christain though, I agree with Psy, it's not there damn business what religion I'am.
Until they figure out how to bend light so I can get my lightsaber, screw the Jedi religion.
lol, yeah, if they could give a a lightsaber, I might actually join.Quote:

Bah, they would have to put bunch of warning labels on them.
If you took it that way, Im sorry, but that isnt at all what I meant. Not every religion belives god is something to worship.Quote:

Do light sabers count as concealed weapons?
unfortuntly, they probably do. *grumble*Quote:

You should speak with my friend,a weapons technician - inventor of the "-fires-knifeblades-instead-of-bullets" Repeater rifle .He'd probably be able to devise some sort of crude energy-beam weapon for you to fulfill your schoolboy fantasies.
Sword-chucks > lightsaber
Luke, I AM YOUR PASTOR!! ^___^
In the last NZ Census, 53,715 people, including myself, put Jedi as their religion.
MAY THE FARCE BE WITH YOU!
