Britney Spears V. The Tabloids.

Whats your opinion of the beating Britneys taking from the tabloids? Personally Ive gotten a lot more fond of her because of it and alot less fond of the press. The last I saw of her in a newspaper she was being insulted for eating and the same column mentioned she was pregnant. Pregnant woman eat? Holy crap there goes the front page! :eek:
She was claimed an alchoholic for being seen drinking some medicine bottle. She even had a scare with her unborn child and was rushed to the hospital, the press couldnt help passing some comment. Its sick. Shes no angel or anything. In 2003 she got married in a vegas church and divorced the next day. But heres what I think makes her cool despite any opinion I have of her music, She doesnt care. Its not that all of the accusations the press puts on her are totally ridiculous or anything, She just doesnt care. Whats your opinion of her and the press's comments on her?

I think she's a media-whore, hating the press for disturbing her private life; but when in need for some attention, flashes herself like the whore she is. I can't believe someone like her even got famous in the first place, no talent at all.

I agree with Chris. She has no talent as a singer. She can dance, but she can hardly sing, let alone sing well.

i absolutely hate tabloids and paparazzi, but a lot of the time Brittney is attention seeking, but she really should be entitled to her privacy :choc:

hm... i think people here are probably jealous. She isn't an attention whore, shes a border pusher. She does what she believes is right and isnt gonna take crap from all the people who say otherwise. I thank britney because shes helped the "evolve" people's ideas of "conservativity".

Ive always love britney, I think shes a good singer, better than alot of the other crap out there, and she seems genuinely kind. Anyone who can call someone a "whore" or a "slut" without really knowing them, and just basing what they say off of what fat lonely people write in the news are ridiculous and ignorant... she is a person too and im sure she has feelings.

No one seems to think of stuff like this... its when the "celebs" are being harrassed because people are jealous that causes problems. I say, let her live her life, and if you dont wanna see or hear her, freakin walk away, no ones forcing you.

She has talent.. she has directed a few of her own vidoes quite well, she plays the guitar, piano, and violin, shes a pretty good dancer, she was on broadway by the age of 8 yrs old, gets in front of 1000s of people and sings and dances where if she makes one little mistake everyone is going to laugh at her, and writes the majority of her songs.

id like to see you do that and still say you have no talent

And? I can play the piano, bass, & electric guitar. It's not hard to learn to play an instrument. So what if she has directed some of her videos, it goes to show then dosen't it. They're sh**e. & alot of bands go on stage in front of 1,000s of people. All she does is prance around. People who play the guitar in front of 1,000s of people have more talent than her, & it's alittle bit more embarrassing if you hit a wrong note or chord than if you do a wrong dance move. She's a stupid bint.

I dislike her. No I'm not jealous. No, I don't think she's talented. A voice machine and a good body is all that's needed.

As for the tabloid thing, I think in the beginning it stemmed from her saying one thing and doing another, like saying she was a good baptist girl but getting caught cursing, smoking, drinking, having sex, etc. It's not because she did those things, it's because she said she wasnt that sort of person. That attracts the media attention, because they like shoving people's noses in things.

As much as I dislike her and think she enjoys the attention, it's really the people that buy the tabloids, not the star or the tabloids themselves, that are at fault. If humans werent so frelling obsessed with everyone famous, so desperate to know every bit of dirt and see every embarassing photo, the tabloids would have no market to sell to. It's really more of the culture (America's in particular, given that I dont know how other countries react for sure) that disgusts me. Like, when I was working at Disneyland, celebrities have to be escorted around the park and shoved in the back entrance of lines to keep the fans from hoarding them, which is deplorable... I mean, it sucks big time to not be able to enjoy the simply pleasures of life because you're in movies/music/whatever.

But I suppose a lack of privacy is simply the price celebrities must pay, and it seems it always will be.

I've studied vocal octaves and human expressions and I can without a flinch say that Britney's voice is thin and very weak, one octave only = straight singing.

It's so obvious that Britney does really want the press to follow her around. While she announced that she was going to have a 'year off', she released a new single and announced her pregnancy or something like that. :rolleyes2

That's what I'm saying. Whenever someone disses a celebrity, their fans say "You're just jealous." which doesnt make any sense. People dislike things and other people. That's just how it is. Jealousy is not the issue. And it bothers me.

As much as I dislike her, as an aspiring Journalist and major proponent of Journalistic integrity and responsibility, I find tabloids deplorable and such things not fit for the news.

i dont like her music at all, but i agree that its stupid when people call her a "slut" or a "whore" without even knowing her. after you hang out with her on a regular basis for at least 6 months, then you can call her a slut.

She's a has-been, plain and simple. Nobody really cares about her anymore. Her new show is so crappy that not even MTV would pick it up, and it had to go on UPN. U P freaking N. That's when you know you've hit rock bottom.

She has a show now?

Actually UPN pretty much kicks ass >.< it has americas next top model which is probably the greatest show ever made...

albeit britney's show is a bit not "SHOWY" but more documentary and is often construed into hazing drunken spins, but it really shows you that she is a normal person just like u or i :P

Speaking of has-beens, maybe you havent been paying attention, but MTV is the has-been, I dont know anyone who watches that anymore .... ;)
