What would you say?
Mine would be Sonic CD for the SegaCD/Mega CD. The soundtrack was awesome, the levels were huge, the levels were massive in amount, Metal Sonic, plus I think it was the darkest of the Sonic Storylines. The special levels on it kicked ass.
Theyre all the same to me which makes them all pretty good. I could never get past the first world, maybe make it to the second but never past that.
Part 2 is my favorite.
Adventure 2 battle- if for no other reason than the music.
1 and 2 are my favorites, you simply can't beat the classics.

Sonic CD actually has shorter stages than the games in the main series do, but it has much more going on within that limited space. And the fact that you can view each stage in the past, present, future, or good future lends them longevity as well.
I'd say the best one is either Sonic the Hedgehog CD or Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles.
I also like how SCD has alternate endings.
All of the main Sonic games have at least two endings.
From the Sonic games I've played I say Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was the best. I though it was great game and I liked the special stages with the weird tube-like things.
I really like Sonic Adventure 2 Battle a lot... however... Sonic 3 will always remain my fav. It's simply awesome in every way... even though I really hated the Circus levels... =/
I never really got into the 2D Sonics, I'd say SA2: Battle, because I loved the music.
I liked the second. Chemical Zone or whatever is a lot more fun to play than whatever the first game's second zone was.
That's an odd way to put it.
I only ever played the console version when I was like five and I never play long enough to get past the second level on emulators.
Yeah, it still doesn't make much sense. Just roll with it.
If there is a Sonic Golf, that's my favourite.
If you haven't played the old school 1,2,3, and S&K, you just can't be considered a true sonic fan. My fav was Sonic 3 & Knuckles. With 4 selecable ways to play(one had you play with sonic & tails), and double the emeralds to collect, it was an all around awesome game. Twice the size too. Of course, the Death Egg was a blatent parody of the DeathStar, only with Robotnik's face on it. Anyway, yeah. That's the bestest one. On the genisis. With the hard-as-hell debug code.
Sonic 2 was the best but for some reason I prefered 3.
Chemical Plant Zone is my favourite zone from any of the Sonic 1 and 2 zones. I think it must be the zone with the most endless spinning through loops, which is the thing that makes Sonic games fun! I think more of the levels should have given you the opportunity for more long spinning. Just watching the zone fly past you. Wheee. <3Quote:

The Sonic levels with water were annoying. You had to spend most of your time looking for an oxygen supply while you could be speeding your selfout of there.

Sonic & Knuckles was, and still is, my favorite. It was challenging, fun, and I have many fond memories of the time when I first played it.
Oh, yea. Thanks to Doomsday, I got a code to unlock all the characters and levels the first time I played it. :pQuote:
