OMG, I hate it when people think of rappers they think of eminem
He is rubbish, well his new stuff.
Only thing thats worth to listen to is Forget about Dre, but Dr Dre still steals it
[QUOTE=gibbi8]Its coz he's the one everyones heard of, 50 cent deserves to be shot!Quote:

Yeah old Em is good but the new stuff is the samew old as everyone else.
he was better back then
When he was rapping with other people he was actually good
But all this Toy Solder crap is rubbish
He demise was after he did Stan, which was an actually ok song
Tupac was 'OK' no better or worse. He was a fruity little dancer with Digital Underground, then got a part in a movie, then started to act like he character he played, then got shot by real 'thugs'. He was a tragic victim of his own chosen lifestyle & he took people to the grave with him that would otherwise still be alive today. He gets no respect from me.
Favorite rappers, Biggie, Slug of Atmosphere, Vinnie Paz of JMT, Sage Francis, Cormega, Jigga, Esoteric, Eyedea, Jus Allah, Apathy, Celph Titled, MC Zion from Zion I, MURS, MF Doom, Grimm, Kool G Rap, Aesop Rock, Atoms Family, Rubberroom, 2Mex etc etc there's a great load of rappers out there that I love. The underground is rich in originality & talent. I worship at the altar of independant rap.
EDIT: To Aurey, Prefuse 73 is a Producer, not a rapper, but fine choices my friend :)
Oh yea, Biggys up there with the greats
Shame on what happened to him and 2pac
Biggies OK. DMX is not bad either but at times.... Nevermind... He's good...
DMX is great !
Oh yea, GZA, Alias and Oxide&Neutrino are great
But none of them are as good as me !
I would send a file of me rapping but im too embarrased
*win* :love:Quote:

Also Wutang.
No one has mentioned Gift of Gab AKA Blackalicious. This makes me sad, because Blazing Arrow is my favorite hip-hop album and Gab's lyrics easily flow faster and smoother than any of the other rappers listed here so far.
Other rappers I really like - Dr. Dre, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common, Atmosphere, Sage Francis, Outkast, Zion I.
Other rappers I somewhat like - Eminem, Jay-Z, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Beans, Immortal Technique, Mobb Deep.
pretty much anyone from the Wu-Tang clan, especially Method Man. And, if you count him, Jimmy Urine is definately my favorite rapper, even though mindless self indulgence isnt rap, but hes a rapper. (i think)
oh yeah, kottonmouth kings is great too.
prefuse 73 is good stuff tho
blackalicious
mf doom (oh man food)
buck 65
beastie boys
been meaning to check out M.I.A. actually
think i heard a song on the radio but not sure
is this the same MIA girl that used to do mash ups or soemthing? im shooting in the dark here

But yes, Eminem, Ja Rule and Outkast and my favourites.
Biggie had nothing to do with his murder. Anyone who believes that is an idiot who ignores facts & listens to hype.Quote:

I don't understand why people like rap. It isn't actual music but it passes as music cause of it's popularity now. The people in rap don't sing, the music is barely ever made my instruments. They use a little bit of drums but they mostly use computers and synthesizers which aren't musical instruments in my mind. There is no musical value in rap, the only value that rap has is saying things. Most of the time they don't say anything worth listening to so basically, it's just. The only rapper I like is Tupac, I don't care if he sold drugs at a time or got shot for being a gangsta at some other time, it's not about him, it's about how he thought and what his music said. He said a whole bunch of smart things and he thought a relly awesome way, that is the only reason why I respect him. His rap is good because it actually has something to say that is valuable. Rarely did he make songs that said: Imma shoot you up mosmurfa get down from my roof yadayadayada. Or talk about his ghetto and what not, he did a few times sure, it's prolly not easy to live in the ghetto, but not all of his songs were about that. Come on, listen to some real music.
i listen to rap and hip hop, and while i do think agree what u said, i WOULD classify it as music, because ne1 can play an instrument if they tried, but who can phrase things, bring their personal experiences together to say something worthwhile?that takes a lotta effort and talent. i guarantee it. don't believe me. ever tried rapping?
neways, i think most ppl get sucked into the stereotype of rap and hip hop, because the "gangsta/worthless songs that just happen to have a good beat" are the songs that ppl play on the radio. but more times than not, most rappers have something special to bring to the table. even that eminem character :rolleyes2
I think it's widely accepted now by everyone concerned that that Manhattan shooting was nothing to do with biggie either. It was a punishment shooting for something Pac did in Oakland (he shot up a concert). He was just poisoned in prison by Suge & his cohorts. There is a mighty difference between the legend & the man & I can see why people ignore facts to believe the legend, it's attractive. But the facts are, Pac dug his own grave sadly.Quote:

psssshhhh easily the best
I think he's a member of D12. He's not really that new, 'Cause D12 came out last year I think. But you probably just heard him make a song by himself...Quote:

Lil Jon. WHAT? OKAY! YEAH!
Where's your evidence for this oh wise one? Or are you believing the Bullsh*t Pac talked in his hate lyrics? It's pretty much accepted throughout the industry, and indeed world that Pac's shooting was connected more to his 'friends' at Death Row than anyone else. The Manhatton one was, as I've said, connected to the west aswell. The sooner Tupac fanboys realise this & what the man was TRUELY like the better.Quote:

But at the same you can easily notice people who are talented with instruments and people who just learned, it's the same with singing, if someone talented sings they have this emotions and substance to the songs, if someone who learned sings, they don't quite have that much, i'm not saying their bad singers, it's just nothing interesting.
i like no rappers at all.
rock music all the way for me
Instead of making another thread why not rate other rappers aswell.
Out of 10...
Tupac: 9.9 nah... 10!!
Nas: 9.8
Eminem: 9.7
Ludacris: 9.4 (I still like him better than jay z...)
Jay-Z: 9.6
Ja rule: 6.2
benzino:4.0

THe best rapper is a dead rapper! :fphap:
They do make more money, Fans, and popularity dead...
No they never, their 'beef' started when Tupac was in Rykers for Gang Raping a girl. You are accusing Biggie of being involved in Tupac's shooting, it's not up to me to prove he isn't, it's up to you to prove his was. You are the one making the accusations. Besides which a simple google will fill you in. Know your facts before you talk kid, I've been into hip hop before those two were even big & have learned a great deal, you seem to be going on third hand evidence & were probably still climbing trees when pac was killed. I'm not trying to antagonise but you seem to be making retarded claims implicating someone in attempted murder with false third party misinformation & spiterful rumour. Please read up on the whole matter, not just listen to Tupac songs & believe his venom.Quote:

Gift Of Gab - his alphabet aerobics song is so cool.

Ugly Duckling - a bit like the beastie boys but with better lyrics
I'm with Cuchulainn on this. I'd say Aesop Rock is my alltime favorite with
Technique at a close 2nd. Never really liked Atmosphere though, except
when I heard the Woman with the Tatooed Hands 4 years ago. Other than
that I'm not that big a fan though. Only thing that pissed me off about
Tech is that he charges so much money for a show (we were trying to get
him for hempfest a little while ago) but we couldn't afford it since we
already spent a lot on Addison Groove Project.

I'm in love with Will Pan, although Jay Chow comes in a close third after SHE's Ella! She is teh awesome!
You want good rap, you contact me. Will Pan's 'Wu Ha'.
