I thought of this just coz ive just got of the phone where the person said..
"Hi.. is Amy there? Its Rachel."
Me> "Yeh? .... It is me..?"
"OOOOOh! hehe it didn't sound like you.."

Thats the reason im afraid to answer the phone,
so has that happened to you?
My voice sounds slightly different, but it is still recognisable.
But apparently I always sound really quiet on the phone, but I haven't noticed. :D
I sound like a lil five year old apparently! I swear I'm older! Sumtimes when i ahve a cold though, i sound like an old man!! My Freinds shouldn't phone me at lunch times when I'm off sick and they thougth i was my dad!
I'm petrified of phoning people house phones! Their parents might pick up!

I once recorded myself talking,its awful you feel really awquared, and i sound really lowwwwwww. Im like O_o
I sound like a drunken man on the phone and I'm a 15 year old girl!!!! On voice recorder tapes I sound fine but on the phone and on my video recorder phone *sigh*
I've listene to myself on tape... I sound really Glaswegian. xD :D
Everyone thinks Im my dad when I answer the phone.
People tend to think I'm my mom when I answer the phone because I answer it in such a monotone voice. :p But my voice is so cutesy, I don't even know how I could ever sound like my mom. :greenie:
I sound different in that I sound even more like an idiot than I do in real life, which is really saying something.
When I am on the phone people tend to say that I sound like a 12 yr old cheerleader. Although I can't stand cheerleaders and I'm 18 years old although I guess I have the voice to go with my look. I look about 12 because I am so short and tiny lol.

I'd say most people sound different on the phone.
I have no idea. In my head I sound manly but BoB says I am so sexy he just can't stand it, so I guess it depends on who you're asking.
In my youth, I did, but now, I sound the same on the phone. Just don't ask me to do my Andy Kaufman impression. You won't be able to distinguish it from the original.

Yeah, pretty much. For a girl, I have a fairly deep voice to begin with, and it can get pretty raspy---on the phone/on camera it sounds so bad. xD But that's just the way it goes.

yep i guess i sound just like my dad, because my friends will start talking to him thinking hes me, and his friends will start talking to me thinking im him, its crazy.
Yea, I do sound different. I have the same thing going on as CloudSquallandZidane. Damn, it gets annoying after a while.

My voice is more high pitched (or so I've heard from the answering machine). My grandmother says that I sound like my cousin, and she's almost 30. Other than that, I have no idea, because I havn't called myself in a while. :o
They tell me I sound 8 on the phone. Some say 12, though.

Apparently I sound like a receptionist on the phone, and I tend to mumble on the phone because I prefer to speak face to face
