Why is it called Spam?
Irrelevant messages have nothing to do with spiced ham.

Maybe because no one likes Spam (the food) and no one likes irrelevant/annoying e-mails/posts???

Acronym; easy to remember, use...it kinda rolls off your tongue. Lotsa people [img]http://home.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/heart.gif[/img] spam online, as opposed to lotsa people hating spammy food. :D

The general belief is the term spam began to mean "annoying repetitive crap" after the Monty Python song.

I've already explained why it's called spam in another thread, it relates to a Monty Python sketch where 2 people are ordering in a resteraunt & all it serves is spam & the scetch goes on & on and all that is said is SPAM SPAM SPAM WITH SPAM SPAM SPAM....etc
