Is anyone else here Irish or is it just me?
I'm part irish, and my best friend is pure irish.
Which part?
Er . . . my left ear? (hahaha)
Im a eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeny bit irish :)
Both my parents are Irish. I guess it depends on whether you're a 'blood-nationality' kinda person or a 'location-nationality' kinda person to determine how Irish I am, if at all.
Im Irish, and theres a leprechaun in my attic. A small bit of my hair even goes red in the summer just.
So what field do you live in?
2nd from the left.Quote:

And no.
i just want you to know that i am NOT irish. thank you.
I'm English and Scottish, but no Irish. Good thing, bad thing, I don't know.
EDIT: I think I'd rather be Welsh.
:D

OK, IS ANYONE ELSE IRISH? I'm getting pretty lonely in my corner over here...
Irish by descent.
When you say Irish do you mean born in Ireland or just Irish blood. I have mainly Irish blood. Damn near pure Irish blood.
I'm a quarter Irish, though I don't look it. I'm half Italian, and another quarter German also, but I really look like none of those ethnicities.
I'm half Irish, and spend significant tracts of my youth there. Northern Ireland that is, not those upstart rebel parts.
Not that it really matters to me a whit. Nationality is so insane an idea I'm not remotely surprised Humanity came up with it.
I am Irish by descent and spirit
I'm 1/3 Irish, and I think it's my biggest part, my last name is Irish also, I'm also largely British, but I still think I'm more Irish.
I'm 25% Irish. I do like thier culture there, but i heard it rains a lot in Ireland.
I'm British and Indian too. And a little German....cause of my last name.
I'm like 1/8 irish and 7/8 italian, OMG LEPRACHAUNS IN THE MAFIA!
yep.
I'm from, and live in Northern Ireland! Though ironically, I don't think I have that much Irish blood in me. I think my descendants are English, but my genepool must have picked up some Irish along the way.
I was born and raised in the County of Armagh.
How do you say Armagh
Ar (as in arm) and ma (as in mama). Ar-ma. That's the way I say it anyway!
I've been to Armagh, I know people in Crossmaglen. I'm from North Belfast, and unlike Cless, I'm most probably 100% Irish as my descendants are from County Cork (or Cobh). I was born in Antrim, moved to the Falls in West Belfast then to Poleglass in West Belfast & now to here...the crazt riot loving North of the city...busy childhood.
Cool, just wanted to know!
UH OH IF YOURE IRISH POST THERE THREADS HAVE RETURNED LOLZ

I'm part Irish & part Welsh. :p
Plenty of people here of Irish descent... Anybody here form the Republic? More importantly, anyone from Dublin? There seems to be mainly British and Americans here...
I am happy to report i have no irish blood, well not unless you count ulster prodestants as Irish.
Technically no. They really are British...
Good to see your family were one of the few that didn't over-stay their welcome & went home again. :)Quote:

No, you're the only person in Ireland who decided to go on Eyes On FF. I mean, in a eitire county, everyone else neglected this site except for you. What a honour!
I'm from Ireland as well. Hey, everyone! If you're ever going through Co. Monaghan... keep on going, it's a dump.
My Irish is okay but my grammar is terrible without my handy, 628-page pocket dictionary :D
I speak fluent Irish with no mistakes. If anyone wants me to translate anything into Irish for them, feel free to ask...
Really? Are you from a Gaeltacht?
Donegal. Beautiful landscapes.
No, I'm from Dublin, but I went to an Irish primary and secondary. You tend to pick it up wether you want to or not...
My wish is to go to Donegal.
Ireland is full of green beauty, here's a few pics & I didn't need to go far :D
To the moderators, if this isn't allowed, i apologise.

near the top of Cave Hill, the caves here are Neolithic & there's the remains of a small fort & neolithic burial Dolmens.

Hills of Antrim from Glenarff Forest.
There's more but I can sense the 'wtf' from peoples minds so I'll stop.
Ireland is my favorite country! xDDDDDDDD
I never thought there was anything particularly great about it. I think its beauty is over rated.
I LOVE IRELAND, WHEN I'M OLDER, I'M MOVING THERE.
Really? I don't so at all. From what Cuchulainn posted, that only strengthens that belief. xD But I love green hills, forests, those trees, the history of it all, with the castles. I'd love to go there, even if I'm not Irish.Quote:

My dad wants to vis the countries of all our origins. Those pictures don't anything for me. I am not one to "behold" beauty or grace. I am a person who touches that which I should look at, etc.
In order to fully absorb the beauty of those hills, I'd have to spend days on end running around them, goofing off.
Grace Jones & Ireland are my two favorite things in the world.
A Grace Jones concert on a Irish hill-top? PARADISE!
Here's more

Dunluce Castle, it was set on the edge of a cliff & joined to land by a bridgeway. in the 1700s the kitchen fell into the sea killing all the cooks. It's said the castle's owner, when hearing this said 'what am I going to do for meals' not giving a sh*t about the poor workers who plunged down the rocks into the sea. :D WHAT A GUY.

The remains of Downhill House, burnt by a fire in 1890s. As it's a listed building it has remained there, abandoned ever since. There's a mosuleum & temple behind it & it's creepy.
LASTLY...

Tullymore Forest...WHERE THE LEPRECHAUNS LIVE.
You're killing me here. :(
God that's beautiful.
:D
I was on Inis Mór a while back. I was sitting on the steps to this statue, looking out at the bay. It was a good day, bright and clear.
This elderly Japanese woman was sitting beside me. She looked at me and I looked at her, and she pointed to herself and said:
"Japanese."
I pointed back to myself and replied:
"Irish."
With her thin hands she guestered out over the bay. What she said next I will never forget.
"Beautiful."
I simply replied,
"Yes." There was nothing more that could be said.
It's a strange feeling, when someone comes from the other side of the world, from a country so intricate and richly cultured as Japan, to tell you that your country looks beautiful :)
That's because she didn't come to Dublin, and if she did, she was making a comparison *looks out the window and shudders*
What a lovely story, OdaiseGaelach. :)
