I hope he wins.
My opinion is that Human Rights are a complete joke.

Frankly, I hope more than just his *rights* were violated after those photos were taken.
Yeah, human rights, my ass.
I hope he wins and then loses when his people sue him for doing what he did to them.
This would actually be nice to see.Quote:

What? Do you seriously think the United States has ever given a flying smurf about Iraq, or it's people?Quote:

Nope, i forget the details but i remember USA putting him into power because they were against one faction or something...damnit it escapes me at the moment...
I don't know about that, admittedly. Either way, it doesn't really matter to me. The man has to pay up for his crimes regardless of whatever involvement with whatever country. He was a dictator, and a ruthless, immoral one at that.
I fully support this, which is why I feel many of our politicians should be in prison right now.Quote:

Very interesting. :shifty:Quote:

I wonder if he'll still be alive in time to actually take them to court.

Saddam is in no position to be making threats
I believe they put him there so he could wage a "war" with Iran.Quote:

I hope he wins as well. What purpose did those photographs serve? While he may have done a lot of awful things, it's just bloody petty to humiliate him like that. I generally expect better from the modern world.
Hussein needs to GET OVER IT. It's not like none of us haven't been publicly humiliated before. It's happened to a lot of us, I'd say. Sure, it's on a global scale, but there's really nothing that he could do to look worse in my eyes. The underwear pictures mean nothing.
:D
Does he have the right to sue?

WWEll lol its kinda ironic if you think about it.
it is but any action against murdoch and the sun is good in my book. and for a man to learn humanity first he must be shown it.
What? No way! You can't sue him! It's against his human rights to be sued! Just like it is against his rights to have a photo taken of him in his pants! This means he will sue the people who sued him for human rights violations for human rights violations! Then it continues until nobody cares anymore! Wait, that already happened.Quote:

GIME ME A ******* BREAK
the fact that most people miss is that sadamme huessein is human. and so is entitled to all rights connected to that fact.
But he needs to pay for his crimes. I would place justice over mercy any day. Saddam Hussein is one of the worst people alive today, and for him to cry about his "rights" being stolen from him (because he was seen in his undergarments) is to slap the face of morality.Quote:

If they violated his rights i hope he wins, if they didnt i hope he loses, human rights apply to those who didnt give them, also.
Am I the only one who sees the irony in this?
He may as well sue the people who decide his punishment because punishment is against his rights.
I thought that was the funny part of the story. =/Quote:

Human rights belong to every citizen of this world, no matter how dispicable. Saddam Hussein deserves justice, and he will get it. But a violation of human rights (no matter who the 'human' is) is not tolerable.
Exactly. I don't really care about this particular case, but you can't single people out to void their individual rights.Quote:

Of course it is - because if he can sue for embarrasement, some woman who Saddam killed her husband and used her son as a meat shield and torched her house could also sue for damages.
It'd be pretty interesting.
the only good thing to come out of all this natiness is the sun are gettiung sued, murdoch will lose money and i'll be happier for that.
Totally agree. If they don't, it makes us no better nor worse than that evil regime.Quote:

I find this more amusing then anything else. He's been deposed but he still thinks of himself as having status. Any tabloid worth it's salt has an army of lawyers, so he'll probably lose. He is in prison, but it's not like he can't still make money. Think of the Autobiography book deal.
rupert murdoch is a right wing idiot. his newspaper is one of the most poorly written, biased, flawed sheets of paper to call itself journalism.
it openly preaches against immigration, is plauged with nationalism, homophobic, anti-religious rights. and likes to be the judge and jury pf everyone.
the coverage it gives to pedophiles and it's overtly murderous words for them isn't very nice. it's obsession with pedophiles, asylum seekers, celebrity, mockery, gays, islam and breasts is just distasteful.
and being the biggest selling "newspaper" it influences a vast amount of people with these views.
Agreed, except for that last sentence. I didn't really expect anything better from a tabloid like The Sun.Quote:

The moment someone violates a law, or commits a huge crime, he/she loses their rights as a citezin and even their rights as a legitimate human being... Human Rights do not extend to today's monsters.
yes they do. they are humkan beings and so are treated as such. and technically sadamme hussein is an innocent human being as he has not been ound guilty thus must be judged to beinnocent until someone decides to try him at last.
but yeah human rights apply to all humans no matter who they are. as soon as you start deprving someone of rights for what crime they are alleged of or even have been found guilty of is a step down a troubled path.
I can agree that until found guilty, they've got their rights, but if you seriously believe that rapists, murderers, child abusers, and so forth deserve any form of pity or compassion, well... I hope you never suffer anything which changes your mind.Quote:

To SquareSOFT and Marick:
That makes them less human how? You are no better off than them commiting the crime then. If you want your rights, they need to extend to every living thing out there and not make exceptions because otherwise dont expect those exceptions to except you even if you are falsely accused.
