well i'm only 17 so while the fallof communism falls within my life time (it happened the day before my second birthday and so the papers with it on i have kept and are my birthday) it cannot remember it so doesn't count.

I don't mean to criticize you, as I am just curious. Why do you feel that the death of one man is more important to the death of hundreds of others?Quote:

also world cup or football wins do not change this world. and being athletic is not world news.
I don’t know about importance, but these are the events that pissed me off the most when they cut into my Australian television viewing schedule:
1) 9-11 ( It took two days for the channels to return to normal broadcasting!)
2) Some land slide somewhere ( can only remember that it cut into my Saturday morning cartoons, and most of the afternoon)
3) Diana’s Death ( I think they cancelled a show I like in order to put on some stupid documentary about her)
4) Tsunami (wasn’t in the country for this one, but apparently it was broadcast continually for an entire day)
5) When Saddam Hussein was captured (meh, a few hours, nothing much)
I'm so glad I have Foxtel now, so I don’t have to put up with any of this crap invading my viewing schedule!
I'm a Catholic but not an American. I just didn't feel the same empathy with all those that suffered in 9-11 as I did when the Pope died.Quote:

I'd like everyone to remember that this is EoEO and to stay on topic.
Correction. This is Eyes on the World. Not Eyes on Each Other.
Same difference as far as spam and seriousness of topic go.
I would argue that not everyone views the world as a serious place but tries to find fun in life *drags the topic off topic again*
I MEAN! Pizza was invented in the 1900s! I wasn't alive then. I need to change my answer!
1) Frozen Pizza is invented.
"what are the top 5 (WORLD NEWS) most important moments that you can remember in your life?"
find a news headline about the invention of frozen pizza and maybe you would be right.
My research on Frozen Pizza has put the greatness of the food product during WWII but started to be commercially sold in 1957 and then even the first Pizza Hut resturant opened in the 1930s.
Pizza has a very rich and filling history.

Pizza is just that damn important :mad2:
Knock it off, edlalala.
As for the five most important historic moments that I've witnessed in my lifetime, that's something I'll have to think long and hard about.
The breakup of the Soviet Union.
The spread of the Internet across the world.
The 2000 U.S. Presidential election.
The terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.
The tsunami's of South-East Asia, December 26th, 2004.
