Coldplay's new album? I haven't given it as fair a chance, but it's not proving to be particularly exciting so far. Maybe it's because I saw them live doing it and the album isn't as impressive? What do you think? :\

Why bother buying it, when you can get the EXACT same experience from A Rush Of Blood To The Head and Parachutes?
In fact, why not just hang it all and go listen to Radiohead, the style of whom Coldplay stole and then removed all emotion and talent from.
Coldplay are not as good as they used to be....
I've never listened to it, but I'm going to be biased and say that they're not very good judging by the two songs I've heard by them.
they went downhill but maybe one day they'll try climbing back up
guys listen to Athlete
So far, that's what I'm thinking, but I already have A Rush of Blood and Parachutes. :pQuote:

It isn't that there's anything wrong with the album, it just doesn't really inspire or move me, which is surely the point of their style of music. Supposedly they threw out 40 or so tracks before they settled on this final line-up, and if this is the best of that bunch then I dread to think what the worst sounded like.
yea, I think I'll pass. I'll pass on the Rush too, actually.

Not all of us have mp3 players, y'know.
I don't have an mp3 player, and I don't listen to the radio.
i listen to radio baby
http://www.cjsw.com
all the radio in the US is owned by evil megacorporations and they play subliminal messages of submission
You are now listening to Walmart FM!
now playing: coldplay
they never play radiohead on the radio except for Creep.
Coldplay is all right. His voice is kind of annoying, though, and that's what's keeping me away.
I gave up on radio a couple years ago; all they play is old 80s music and Madonna anyways.
:D
It's all Clear Channel. All of it!Quote:

Their first album was their best. But all their albums sound the same.
More of the same gets boring after a while. It's like listening to track you really like on repeat. It's good for a while, but then it fades.
One thing I've been thinking about.
If Chris Martin is the lead singer and thus the best the band has to offer, how BAD at vocals must the other band members be if he's the best they have?
Uh, God, I don't even want to think about that.
Probably sound like a teenage boy when their voice is starting to break.
British radio is still OK, but prone to playing the same song over and over again until the entire country hates it. Fix You is set to become the next victim of that.
I don't find Chris Martin's voice to be annoying, but it's certainly nothing special. The only reason he stands out at all is because the other three members of the band have no discernable personality. I don't think they could be any more bland if they tried.
man this one time cjsw played like radiohead from ok computer, dropkick murphys, dj shadow, bright eyes, of montreal, boards of canada, and tosca in one day
yams: jack fm is ok but it's one of my last resorts
edit: .... how do you know about jack fm
what are you
Okay, it's official. This album is generic and formulaic power-chord crap. :(
I miss Parachutes.
It's all the same, man.
krissy: we're probably talking about different radio stations. Jack FM: we play what we want.
yeah we got the same one
"call in with a request! we wont consider it tho."
"here's a bunch of songs in a row"
I agree with Neel on "generic"
You could use it to go to sleep to, maybe. It's not nearly as good as Rush of Blood to the Head, I don't think.
whoa, that's cool. They play some good '80's stuff.Quote:
