Details are still tenuous, but it's set to be revealed in video form (no demo) at Square Enix Party 2005 at the end of this month.

Awesome.
Very awesome. I'm looking forward to it.
I read that on IGN several days ago and am quite interested. What will it be like? Only time will tell.
Hell yeah!! What system??
I sure wish I could attend the Square-Enix Party.
It will be SO cool to see this. Espically if it's along the lines of what im thinking  :fencing: Waiting is the hardest part :hourglas:
MUST PLAY! Legend of Mana dominates. I wonder how good this will be...........
*COUGHthreadrevivalCOUGH*
Edit: Wrong thread XD...
My brother found that out. I can't wait...(i hope it's four players).
Well, Square Enix Party 2005 has come and gone, leaving us with one rather substantial piece of information: World of Mana is not a game. That is, it's not just a game; it's a...project.
The best way to say it, apparently, is that World of Mana is to Seiken Densetsu what Compilation of FFVII is to Final Fantasy VII.
Think on that.

Jesus, download and run the Rabite program. I have never felt so complete.
RABITE!!!!!!! on my screen. Me loves!!!!!

*kills someone*
Move to the US. We get lots of fun stuff here.
Im getting Swap Magic 3, so I will be playing World Of Mana :D
But SM3 is bad for your console..........so I dont know how long It can last....
I absolutely LOVED Secret of Mana on my SNES (I must have played it as many times as I've played FFVII) and Sword of Mana on my GBA.
I hate that I've not been able to play Legend of Mana.
World of Mana sounds fascinating...

I'm looking forward to both of these titles. Great news, indeed.
I thought the PSX game was Seiken Densetsu 4? What's its japanese name?
Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana.
$10 says SD4 will be for PS2.
New Seiken Densetsu DS Details Released
10.23.05 - 2:41 AM
Square Enix has released some new bits of information about its newest Nintendo DS project Seiken Densetsu DS: Children of Mana. The 2D action RPG will feature three main characters and make full use of the DS' capabilities. Therefore, a wireless multiplayer mode that allows players to clear dungeons together with fellow users, will be incorporated.
Seiken Densetsu DS: Children of Mana will be available in Japan sometime this winter.

Smells like a port of Secret of Mana with multiplayer for DS built in.
Well yes, this is Nintendo. Would you really expect anything more than the easy option?Quote:

Is Children of Mana going to be a remake of Secret of Mana? Like Sword of Mana was to Final Fantasy Adventure... :mog:
I hope not, as I've already played and completed Secret of Mana half a dozen times.
But yes, I expect that's exactly what it will be. Or worse, a direct port conversion of the original SNES game.
SoM:

CoM:

Sure looks the same ;p
That, and if you can point to me where in SoM that screen from CoM would be, you can get a cookie (:cookie:).
*um...*
It looks very rocky, so I'd guess the temple inside Gaia's Navel where the Seed of Earth is. You fight the Fire Gigas and recieve Gnome.
Although as there are a lot of Chobin Hoods there, and they were mostly found inside Eileen's "haunted" castle.
So, the underground (gnome) temple has windows (!) with a view on the Mana tree? ;)
They either put monsters in the Lighthouse, or it's not the mana tree, and rather a tree in the forest of Elinee's castle.
Unless you're being sarcastic. Then I'm just really off today.
Well, if one looks at the official website, something that should strike you as one big difference between CoM and SoM, is that in CoM, you can't find a screenshot where all three (or even just two) of the main characters are on the (battle) screen simultaneously. The second is that Flick in CoM has MPs. In SoM, the boy isn't quite capable of using magic. Tumble (the girl) looks nothing like the girl from SoM.
This is true. This information seems quite promising.Quote:

GamesAreFun has a few scans RPGamer doesn't.
And the art and screenshots ripped from the official site and an mp3 of the background music.
Really looking forward for the games. :)
There's a 2006/02/23 date mentioned on the info page of the official site, for what I believe would be the release date. *jealousy*
GAF has a new scan with a nice look at the playable characters and some impressive screenshots.
You know, I think I can predict the future now.
Once, I had a dream that the entire family, somehow, would just be extremely dissapointed in my elder sister. This turned out to just be my elder brothers dissapointment with her recent actions. o_O
Another time I had a dream that Mario got captured by a witch in a castle. This turned into Luigi's Mansion, except Mario got trapped in a Mansion, not a castle. And as far as I know, he wasn't captured by a witch. >_>
Also, I once thought up something. I said to myself: "What if they made an MMORPG out of the Mana series? It would be easy to name. World of Mana..."
Valid proof that World of Mana is gonna be an MMORPG. I, the prophet, predicted it! My prophecy clearly states that World of Mana is an MMORPG! DO NOT DENY ME!
(Note: I dreamed up World of Mana before it was announced. o_O)
I have also had other instances where I predicted the future in my dreams! n_n
...Ahem...
Anyways, this Children of Mana game is looking pretty good! Can't wait to get me hands on it!
I predicted that Final Fantasy XII would come out after Final Fantasy XI way before it was ever announced.
Those Seiken Densetsu 4 screens make me all warm inside.
Oh, and the scan also revealed that SD4 takes place at the beginning of the timeline and will cover the origins of the tree and the sword and all that.
The official site now has much more detailed info, aswell as info on other chars besides Flick, Tumble and Pop: Nikita (it can't be Seiken Densetsu without Nikita!) who will be a playable char, and Tiss. Also, there's now a section about magic (the return of Luna!) and using field objects, as well as multiplay info.
Man, some of those screenshots look incredible. Leave it to Brownie Brown to produce some gorgeous 2D graphics. And I couldn't be happier that multiplay is back--now with up to four characters, one of whom is Nikita, no less. Hitoshi Sakimoto is composing the music, which is fine, but I wish they'd bring back Hiroki Kikuta. To me, he's really the quintessential Mana composer. Good stuff overall, though.
Update 12/26: Lots of new SD4 stuff.

Did you watch the trailers, too?
I didn't even notice them at first. Good lookin' out, Raf. The animation in the CoM trailer is especially gorgeous, but again, it's to be expected considering its predigree--in this case Studio Gonzo. And the SD4 trailer is remarkable simply for the return of Full Metal Haggar.
I also reviewed some of the smaller movies in the CoM section. There's an impressive amount of movement in the environments that simply cannot be expressed by screenshots. That being said, GAF has made available some more screenshots, as well as extracted artwork of the elementals.
They've added the two TV spots to the trailer section, aswell as several wallpapers (one of which I'm now using) and merchandize (rabite plushies, covers stickers for the DS). also, game was pushed back to March 2. Still getting it that early makes me envious.
Edit: A new character is now introduced: "Mysteries Man". And a bunch of new wallpapers. And some more info about the game system.
Jeremy Parish has written a preview for CoM, based on the Japanese version of the game. Seems like it's more of a hub-based dungeon crawler than a legitimate successor to SD2 and SD3. But I guess that's what SD4 is for.
Famitsu gave CoM a score of 36/40.

When you said that, I went and checked the official site:
There's a new video, in which you can see:
- more of CoM
- That SD4 takes place 10 years before CoM and will be called Dawn of Mana, and will tell us about the origin of the Sword and the Goddess
- That mobile phones get a SD
- And some images that look like they come from LoM (the hero's house)
There's also an online music store too (iTunes).
