what was your favorite NES game (cant say final fantasy 1 or 2)
I've never had a NES, only the emulator. My favourite one was when mario was bizarrio and he had to jump on penises to defeat them and cleanse his world of their unforgiving wraith.
Final Fantasy 3? :D
Probotector 2: RETURN OF THE EVIL FORCES
Final Fantasy III (Japanese) is probably my favorite. I only have the ROM of that one though, although I DO own the original NES console.
whew.........tough one........
*thinks hard*
Dragon Warrior 4 (AKA Dragon Quest 4, I think). The story of Ragnar the soldier, Princess Alena, The Gypsy sisters Nara & Mara, Taloon the Merchant, and The Hero. Its broken down into 5 chapters, (Chapter 1: Ragnar, Chapter 2: Alena, Chapter 3: Nara & Mara, Chapter 4: Taloon, Chapter 5: the Hero and everyone else.
Amazing RPG for an 8-bit console.
Got the NES when it first came out. Revolutionary stuff.
Battletoads or Super-Spike V-Ball would have to be close seconds.
Megaman 2
Temco Super Bowl is the best american football game of all time.
- River City Ransom
- Contra
- Super C
- Castlevania 2
- Dragon Warrior
- Blaster Master
- Punch Out!
Those are the ones I still play.
Oh, and Destiny of an Emporer.
The Legend of Zelda is one of the best games ever made.

The Legend of Zelda
In a super close second is
BIGFOOT! That game smurfing owns. The computer will actually commit suicide if you are beating their ass into the ground that badly.
Shooters are about memorization almost as much as they are about reflexes. You're going to die a lot at first, but you get better as you learn enemy patterns and locations. It's fun when you get into competitions with your friends.Quote:

I have a friend who can beat Super C without dying. I can beat it, but I die a few times in the later levels. On the other hand, I can at least get to the last stage in Gradius III without losing a life. He can't beat it without an emulator though.
These are my favorite NES Games.
Super Mario Bros. 3
Dragon Warrior
The Legend of Zelda
Gradius
Galaga (w00t!)
Metroid
Jaws (Why does everyone hate it so much?)
Double Dragon 1
Double Dragon 2
Double Dragon 3
I concur!Quote:

I don't know but that game smurfing rocks! I actually just saw Jaws revenge and that game seems to be based off that specific movie.Quote:

I personally liked FF1 and FF3. However SMB3 will win in my eyes.
How could I forget Blaster Master and Legend of Zelda II: The Adventures of Link
My list of NES greats:
Blaster Master
Ninja Gaiden
Mario 2
Metroid
Punch Out
Excite-Bike
Battletoads
Superspike V-Ball
Bad News Baseball
Baseball Stars
Legend of Zelda
Legend of Zelda II: The Adventures of Link
Mega Man 2
Dragon Warrior 4
Destiny of an Emperor
Final Fantasy 1
Double Dragon
Ice Hockey
Blades of Steel - Konami hockey game, fantastic :p
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
Star Tropics
You're making me decide my favorite child. That's just not fair.
DUCK HUNT!!!
7th Saga=teh bestestestest
It's also not an NES game.
Mega Man 3 is the best NES game I've played. I can't find a single flaw with it. By far the pinnacle of the Mega Man series.
A bit of my favorites for the system:
Astyanax
Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2
Metroid
Crystalis
Time Lord
Star Tropics 2: Zoda's Revenge
Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse
Dragon Warrior 1 & 3
Super Mario Brothers 1, 2 & 3
Wizards and Warriors 1, 2 & 3
Little Ninja Brothers (if you can stomach the passwords)
Blaster Master
The Little Mermaid
Willow
Legend of Zelda 1 & 2
Little Nemo: The Dream Master
Super Contra
I find myself liking the NES a lot, but I still prefer the SNES. Enix simply exploded onto the SNES. Although I do like the early Dragon Warriors, they just can't compete with the Soul Blazer trilogy, the Actraisers, or EVO.

Mega Man 2 and 3
Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3
The Legend of Zelda
Tetris
Dr. Mario
Kirby's Adventure
Snow Bros. Jr. or something like that.
Kirby's Adventure was probably one of my favorites because of all the powers he could get, and the difficulty of the game :D
Others:
Super C (even though I could never get past the second level ;_; )
Zelda 2 (fun battle system, even though it was really simple)
Mario Bros. 2 (playing as Toad was one of the highlights of this game)
Mega Man 6 (laugh all you want, but I LOVE this game)
Mario Bros. 3 (great game with many secrets)
Ninja Gaiden 2 (one of the best ninja action games on the NES)
Mighty Final Fight (a cute little parody of Final Fight where you could level up your character. Also had some great music)
Fire Emblem (fun strategy game, but kinda hard to play at first since it's in Japanese :P )
Destiny of an Emperor (little-known Capcom strategy game, involving warlords of Chinese history)
Sweet Home (probably the first survival horror game ever, based on a Japanese horror flick by the same name. This game had many puzzles to solve, and gruesome fights, much like Resident Evil. However, this game was only released in Japan)
Sweet Home is an RPG.
steel cage challenge is my new favourite nes game
I mean they lied about the challenge part but the steel cage part was partially true
Well, a horror RPG (I call all horror game survival horror, so don't mind me). I'm not sure even how to classify the game because it plays so unusually O_OQuote:

river city ransom was great
it had a sequel?
It was the third or so game in a series that spanned twenty or so games, the vast majority of which never got outside Japan. Kurt has a good page on it, although it's a work in progress.
I have a poster of Astyanax(however you spell it) still taped to my wall since i was a kid <3 Greatness indeed.
That and who can forget Square's Tom Sawyer? D:
I love it on the American one who they replaced the bald guys with black bald guys in Hawaiian shirts.
I also possibly had the dodgeball version of that and possibly one of the real ones however it was on gameboy in a 51-in-one and it was in some strange mind boggling language.
Super Mario Bros. 3
Castlevania
River City Ransom
Those are the three that I could think of.
Final Fantasy III
Metal Gear
Super Mario Bros. 3
River City Ransom
Kid Icarus
