- She's a lithe, petite fourteen-year-old girl and will not stop trying to get Kaji to get it on with her.
And she goes insane to the tune of classical music.

Kishi summarized it quite nicely. Asuka essentially treats everyone like dirt, and expects them to fawn over her. Her treatment of Rei is especially disgusting, but I do love how much Rei infuriates Asuka by simply failing to respond or be phased by anything Asuka says.
Misato was the only character in the show that I genuinely liked and felt somewhat attached to, which really made (SPOILER)her death in the movie suck. However, Asuka was a really interesting character in End of Evangelion. I loved how she had such a complete mental breakdown but was able to come out of it and totally kick ass for a couple minutes, even if the end result was...unpleasant. She was definitely one of the more interesting characters, despite her bitchy attitude for most of the show.
Asuka is so smurfing hot. I'd tap it in a second.
And I like her Germanesque personality. (GUTEN MORUGEN~)
She's definitly really pretty, and very interesting. I just wanna punch her in the fact half the time xD
Misato is so awesome. No one's mentioned Ritsuko, though! Or Hikari or Naoko or Yui... or that one chick who works at NERV and wants to make sweet love to Ritsuko.
I liked Ritsuko at first, but the more I learned about her the more I disliked her. Does anyone know how the hell Gendou ends up with so many hot chicks?

Asuka. Last episode ( movie? I dunno this series gave me a headache ) had me smitten when she kicked ass and took names. I love how bitchy she is, especially when she has to synch with Shinji.
I loved it, except for the very end. W.T.F? I understand symbolism and I got what they were saying ( I think ) but still . . . a little too over the top for me. A GREAT anime but not the best imho.

I bet all the creepy Rei freaks were absolutely crushed when End of Eva introduced crowds and crowds of glowing naked Reis, only to have them all wearing smiles. Being shown the object of their obsession over and over again, though she lacked what made her so enticing in the first place--her glassy, soulless stare. It's a twist right out of The Twilight Zone.
The viewers won, especially after the first ending :cool:

EoE was awesome, the viewers won in that respect especially me, because you're the one that rented it...
Shinji won in his mind, and you would have said that he won, had it been Rei you would be pushing the point, not I. Although, Asuka and Shinji sort of did win in the end, so did Maya although the comment "fingered by Rei" should be replaced with Lillith.
Also, your Gendo quote doesn't help your cause either...
If it looks like Rei, sounds like Rei, and straddles Shinji's pelvis like Rei, then it's probably...Yui Ikari.

We're not debating whether Asuka is better for Shinji than Rei, we are debating whether Asuka in general is better than Rei in general. I think we both agree that Shinji’s personal taste is NOT the best norm for anything.
Also, I was saying that Lilith was now a part of Rei (ie, she had become whole) so she now had a greater capacity to show emotions, not that rei had completely disappeared. She is Rei/Lilith at the point when she comes into contact with Maya, and for the remainder of this thread should be referred to as such when considered in the scenes after she Merges.
