I was always a fan of 2000.
Holy crap!! I didnt even finish the poll when you said that...
Go '95, brother. The caterpillar effect is automatic. :spin:
2000 is hot.
In my opinion: 2003. It had a lot of depth into it (and I'm very aware of that, because I could never finish a game in it :D ) and...well, that's it (I don't have anything more to say, I haven't messed with it in a while...)
2K3 is the best. It has battle sprites. Me like battle sprites.
Yeah RMXP sucked...
I've only had (limited) experience with 2k3. So I say that.
I just downloaded 95' and it was awsome!! FF style baby!!
where can i download one?
Which one buddy??
I've always prefered RPGM2K3, if only because I like the battle system and layout.
I'm guessing 95.Quote:

I was never able to use the RPG Makers I downloaded. There was always something still missing. Either that or I just need an instruction manual. Anyway, I'm just going to buy RPG Maker 3 for PS2 once it comes out.
Treat yourself to FF style '95!!Quote:

ok, i know how to teleport to a new place. but is their a way to make like an inside to a cave or town or whatever. i cant find anything for it
but ya, really awsom.
also is their a way to turn on random encounters? all i can find is talk to encounters.
Sorry man. That I dunno. I have the PS1 one (That I dont use anymore) and I havent used it since about last year and I just downloaded '95...
alright, i got my cave working. but i cant get random encounters yet, but i found a help topic on it, alright.
i cant get people to join my party. like i use the talk thing and what not but i cant figure out what command i need to put in to get them to join.
Go to event, make them talk or whatever, do "change party" and add your character. And, because it won't automatically say it, put in a message saying that "so and so has joined our party!"
I don't even know what I voted for, I just did O_o.
You voted on XP. Click on the numbers and you'll find out...
What's rpg maker anyway?

My favorite is 2000. It's the less limited version. There's lots of material out there you can download and add on to your game. Sure, 2003 looks good in battles, but there isn't very many sprites you can use. You'll have to settle with a few sprites the game alread has or maybe you're lucky to find something you can download. Either way, I suggest 2000, and the battle system can be manipulated to be better there too.
alright, i got people to join my party. this is sooo awsom.
umm.... how do i make tresure chests?
Fithos: Make an event, set the graphic to the treasure chest, than make it on the same layer as the hero. After that, simply make a message saying "You got such and such!" and go to change items and add the desired item.
Levian: You can make your own sheets you know.
awsom, this is soo sweet.
thanks for all your help but (suprise) i have another question.
after i get a charecter to join my party, how can i make the person i talked to to get them dissapear. i mean from their original position.
What version are you using? (does it even make a difference)Quote:

Ok, I have... 2003, is there a big difference between them? Cause if there isn't I can help him out.
All of them have their advantages and disadvantages. Dont know em' all but, yeah. Some dont have better lay outs while others have better. I think they are all good and balanced but also focused one style. Like '95 is kinda based on the NES and XP has an anime look to it...
If your using 2K3, surprise suprise, make an event and on page 3 there should be one called erase event. Otherwise, you're on your own.Quote:

well, im using 95, but ill try what you said. might be a simalarity.
In RM2K, how do you get characters to get off the f***ing screen?
:exdee:
That's why I (try to) stick to 2K3.
Here are the steps to make a character disapear In RPGmaker 2000.
1. In the event editor, make a new page.
2. On the second page, in the event conditions box, make it so a switch needs to be turned on to activate the event.
3. On the first page, set an event command called "change switch". Choose the switch that you set for page two to be activated. Set it so that it turns the switch on, then press ok.
4. Make the graphic on page two so that it is blank.
There... when you talk to the person, it will activate the switch, making it so the events on the second page take effect over the first page events. Meaning if there is no graphic for the square on the second page, there will be no person!
P.S- If anybody knows of any easier way to do this, PM me.
