The comedic Roast of EoFF

So I just finished watching Comedy Central's Roast of Pamela Anderson not more than an hour and 18 minutes and 31 . . . 2 . . . 3 . . . aaargh!, so forth seconds ago. Lightning struck my sensitive area . . . my brain, and I had an catastrophe. "What if we had an annual Roast of the Eyes On Final Fantasy Forums?"

The idea got me so excited, I had a wet dream just thinking about it. :lol:
Imagine the fun we could have, all the laughs from a 3-day-long thread taking cheap shots at people we barely know. :lol:

Actually, I got the idea (after watching the Roast) after replying to a post about whether there were Continue Plus options in FF7. -N- replied something and I quoted him and told a joke. It may not have been funny but it got me thinking . . . uh-oh!

We could Roast the goers and the comers and the dearly departed, the hizzles, the fizzles, and the G-double-bizzles, and let's not forget the people who run this place . . . yeah, you know who I'm talking about . . . :joey: . . . yeah . . . me, Mercen-X, myself and the http://img214.echo.cx/img214/9206/knights9bg.gif.

Seriously though, where would we be without the CK's and the Admins. We certainly wouldn't have Superman and who doesn't need added minutes for their phone?

Roasts are regulated though. People never hire any random idiot off the street to perform a roast. These would be people you could trust to bring the joke and leave the insult at the door. It would go: Pre-thread: Post if you want to roast Eyes On (and Eyes On Members). The Forums (Admins, CKs, and members alike) will decide who best to hear from via voting. The votes should be about who here doesn't have personal quarrels with anybody else and would be able to dish out the "all-in-good-fun" insults for everybody equally. Actually, the best jokes aren't even insults, they're actually just funny tidbits of truth. Things that you know or speculate through hearsay about a particular.

It's something I believe we should at least try and if it should go down the tubes, so be it, we don't have to try it again. But hey, some hick was allowed to filter nin-ja to pirate, I think we could try this, okay?

Thing y'all should know is that the heart of roast is the intention of making people laugh, not hurting people's feelings. You have watch your boundaries. If you deliberately hurt someone with one of your jokes or ignore the fact they might find it offensive, I'm pretty sure you'll still get warned if not banned

and I'd be happy to see these people go 'cause they're obviously rude and inconsiderate.

Like eest said, please keep these posts on discussing why or why not to have a roast and not start one yourselves.

This would be pretty good if done right, but that will not happen, so I'm going to have to say no. You'd need people like BoB or kishi or Psychotic to do the roasting because everyone likes them and they have enough wit to be comical without taking it too far.

We have things already in which only a few can participate. We could consider it a competition. Those who make the members laugh the hardest without hurting any feelings will receive the intangible "Funniest Roaster" award. People could post in the roast thread their opinions of the jokes and whatnot. My suggestion is that each roaster would get all that he/she had to say out in one post long or short. One post is where each roaster would have their say, no matter who they're talking about.
It's easy enough for members like me to look through the threads and see the funny things that can be said about people without hurting them, because those respective people honestly think it funny as well.
You see? A roast isn't about making everybody else laugh at somebody. A roast is about making somebody laugh at themself.

It was like that time we were going into that cave to get treasure, and then that guy said I got a bad feeling about this guys! and he sat it out and then me, the fat kid, the girl I like with black hair and my best friend went in the cave and left that guy outside of the cave and when we were about to get the treasure this half man half ogre captured us and ate most of our bodies and we able to survive just long enough to crawl out of the cave and get laughed at by the guy with glasses who decided not to go in and then he got the treasure from our cold dead hands.
