No he most definitely is not, I mean, when he character upgrades it's obviously a guy. Just because it's a white mage people assume it's female, but I feel quite strongly it's a guy.

Anyways, I've always liked Monks so Tifa would probably be my favorite, even though I never really used her.

I think its funny, People assume WM are all female, but I guess Square wanted it that way
but any who the FFI WM is a male btw

My favourite FF female...................Krile was cool but Tifa is the best.

Blame 8-bit theatre for this whole idea that the White Mage is a female. There's probably a good number of players that thought he/she/it was male when the game came out, and when 8-bit theatre popularized it that majority quickly became a minority due to the sudden influx of players. Nothing wrong with sparking interest in an old game like FF1. More power to them for bringing in all the players. I still think White Mage is male though.

IMO White Mage in FF1 is totally a dude. Or at most ambiguous like Quina or Gogo. It is never officially said that he is a male OR a female so its unfair to place the character in a list of female when there is a distict possibility the character could be a guy.

As for my favorite FF female? Freya Crescent from FFIX.
