Request denied.
Ideally, I want it to be region free
But if not, Then I want it to be easy to open up. So I can play around with its guts..........
it'd be mega-sweet if it had an inbuilt cup holder and alarm clock this time
The old (not slimline) model PS2 had a cupholder in it.Quote:

I think a hard drive has been announced, so it's likely.
-there should be memory card slots for ps1 and 2 games,
Considering the announced backwards compatibility, I'd image that'd be there too.
-i also want it to be able to read ps1 and 2 games,
See above.
-and mayb u can save it there to,
If you mean saving the games (like the full CD) to the hard drive, that's not going to happen until the modders and hackers have released tools to do so. If you mean saving your game saves to the hard drive for the older games, nope. They weren't made to save to hard drives, so the option won't be there.
-i also want free online :)
This is going to depend on each developer. Sony doesn't have a centralized network like Microsoft does, so it's up to each developer to decide if they want to charge or not.
Okay, now for the PS3 followers to pick apart my statements. I really haven't kept up on it enough, so there's probably a lot of misinformation up there.
As long as the price doesn't go through the roof in Brazil and there are good RPGs in it... Let Sony put whatever they want to put in the PS3.
The problem with no memory cards is you can't bring your saved games to
friends' houses.

I WANT AN AYB BUTTON
I want a cup holder. And air conditioning. :D
memory cards are extremely useful. taking won maps and characters to a friends house for timesplitters. showing them that free kick in pro evo. letting them take your save data so they can get past the bit they are stuck at. laughing at their high score.
memory cards = good.
sex
No memory cards would suck. I don't feel like lugging my system to my friend's house if I want to play my file on whatever game I am playing.
I would think that you can have the option of using memory cards if you want to, however you do not have to if you want to save. I always felt it should have been like that when i got a PS2, that memory cards should either be included or optional. And having the PS3 be able to save on its HDD yet at the same time you can buy an optional Memory card sounds like a good idea.
but it has no memory card slots for old memory cards let alone new ones.
^^^^^^^
Huh?

Last I heard, the Harddrive was optional.
If that is the case, Memory Cards are almost a sure thing.
i hate memory cards, the fact tht mine gets corrupted often :( and then i have to START ALL OVER AGAIN, it makes me want to slam the ps2 down and smash it (really
Get a new one and make 2 copies of saved games or something.Quote:

Or stop buying third party memory cards.
Suck it up and buy an official one.
i did, everytime the power goes out so does the memory
Well DUH, whenever you cut the power it's going to corrupt data mid-write, the same thing will happen with a hard-drive, only it'll be worse than just a memory card.
no............if tht happens to the xbox nothing happens except the date has been erased, which is no biggie
Think about it as hitting your child in the brain with a baseball bat as he sleeps.
The power going out shouldn't do anything to a card unless it's being
written to at that moment, which is just very bad luck. If it's corrupting
data when it's not even reading/writing from/to the card then that's messed
up and has nothing to do with PS2 in general, but rather your personal
PS2 being a piece of crap. So maybe what you should hope for is that
you'll get a good PS3. :p
