i will post the top 10 worst bands in ranking order in this post once i have enough

Some Interesting facts (possibly) - The Rasmus were the first band to be nominated but as yet have not been inducted into the Hall Of Shame.

The most recent band to get their first nomination is Amy Grant I have no idea who that is :P

The first band to be inducted into the Hall Of Shame were Greenday, my sister was very angry and begged me not to put them in.

The latest band to be inducted into the Hall OF Shame are Limp Bizkit probably the most surprising entry so far

My favorite band Iron Maiden are on the nominations having recieved 2 nomination- note to self, kill captainvoodoo :P .

CaptainVooDoo seems to really hate music and has nominated 21 bands for the hall, more that anyone else.

Currently 92 bands have recieved nominations, these include some surprising choices including Bob Dylan, Roger Waters and The Ramones

The following bands have 4 nominations and as such only need 1 more vote to get inducted into the Hall Of Shame: The Rasmus, HAnson and System Of A Down] :choc:

No, I think you should count the votes. Only, because of the quote boxes, you shouldn't just count four votes, but sixteen- starting with one and then doubling each time! Meanign Iron Maiden would have 16 votes against them!

I only ever heard the one song that everybody did and it wasn't that bad. The singer wasn't a chubby, 12 year old girl type of thing, which is a great improvement on what I usually see. Take Creed. Make the music sound more generic, and then give the lead singer an awful, gritty voice. You now have Nickleback in a nutshell. Not to mention almost every single they have sounds almost exactly the same, so we've been hearing pretty much the same song play on the radio nonstop for five years or whenever they came out.

I'll also add a vote to Limp Bizkit, and Avril Lavegne as well, because in no way is Green Day worse than Avril friggin Lavegne.

The list is slightly time bias. American Idiot was the biggest and most overplayed rock album of the year, so of course Green Day is going to get the majority of the votes, while god awful music like Hanson and ICP barely get any votes since they havn't had anything new come out in a long time. Had this list been made last year, Linkin Park (or whatever the biggest rock band of 2004 was) would have had the majority of the votes. That's why I tried not to nominate any bands just because they are currently overplayed and their current stuff sucks (Hawthorne Heights was an exception, because even if they had made music that would of put Beethoven to shame, it still wouldn't of made up for Ohio is for Lovers.)

I'd have to say Avril Levegne (or whatever the hell), just because, as Flamethrower pointed out, there's no way Green Day is worse than her.

I'm glad I kind've don't post a lot because this would aggrivate me. Which my boyfriend posted most of this so it aggrivates me even more.

Personally, I really like My Chemical Romance. I think they are great, and when they make music videos they are awesome. One of the best bands i've even seen make music videos. The one song "Helena" that i'm sure most people heard of is about the lead singers grandmother that past away that the whole band was pretty much close to. I think the video that goes along with that song expresses it very well. Actually it is one of my ultimate favorite videos ever. Anyways, a lot of singers/bands make up songs about family members that have died or whatever. It's not a song of....my girlfriend cheated on me type thing.

There's another song called "Ghost Of You" and i'm sure totally what that is about, but there video isn't about a normal emo type of thing. It's about a WAR and not about a break up. It's a pretty good video.

Anyways, for the following band:

Taking Back Sunday- not that bad
Senses Fail- don't really like
Thrice- not sure who they are
Hawthorne Heights- heard of them but haven't listened to them
Story of the Year- pretty good!

Not all people that like that music and dress all dark act like they hate the world or however they supposedly feel. There are about at least half that you consider EMO because the music they listen to and the clothes they wear. That's retarded. My sister and her friends dress that way and listen to that kind of music all of the time, and they don't like real emo people do. There emo that is really emo and ther is emo that is not so bad at all. Don't assume all emo is the same. I've seen a lot of emo people. There was A LOT of them where I went to high school. Most of them dressed like they were emo because of the music. I think they actually have STYLE compared to people that wear American Eagle, Abercrombie, and whatever other brand of clothing out there that is made for mostly the common preppy person/person who usually very skinny(especially if you shop at Abercrombie!)

All you EMO haters...read into the people a little more that are EMO. A lot of them aren't so bad. They are normal people. Oh nooo they show FEELING! Give me a break. If I were all of you....I wouldn't care about it. Why!?! Because people that emo don't really care what other people think of them. I wouldn't. It's overrated. You look down on emo people, and when you show that they think, "what is your problem?" Why? Because music is an ART! All different genres of music are different arts of different sounds.

I know Ed will disagree with me on the last part, but no way is music not an art!It is definitely considered an art. As a singer myself that also listens to many types of music I can not express it enough. A lot of these people express their own art if you haven't noticed. Not just bands, but the people that listen to them. I appreciate that. If you met my sister and the people I have known that were EMO you'd think differently!

Sorry that it sounds so harsh, i'm not trying to be. I'm just explaining why a lot of you got it very wrong.

True, that one was a bit weird, but they made a lot of very good points in that song- the overcrowded in American priosns is largely due to the idiotic 'War on Drugs', and the US government has used profits from the drugs trade to fund it's various fascist puppets.
Plus, Marijuana is actually proven to be less harmful than tobbacco and alcohol.

That's exactly what it is, a bunch of liberal adolescent ranting about why we should hate the government. "The evil government won't let me do whatever the hell I want, so they're wrong". Left-wing propaganda in a song -- a bad song, at that. The American prison system isn't hugely overcrowded, and the overcrowding that does occur isn't a product of what crimes they committed, but why they haven't been convinced not to commit those crimes again. America is way too concerned about "rights of the accused" and "criminal rights" to establish good prisons -- which is why most people in prison are repeat offenders. And contrary to what anybody might think, nobody is sent to prison because they've been caught smoking pot one time.

Alright, let's get this straight. 1.) I've never listened to Busted. 2.) I don't know anything about them, apart from what I've heard in this thread. 3.) I never "stuck up" for them, I never complimented them, never compared them to Nirvana, only used one quote referring to them to also reflect upon Nirvana. 4.) I don't care. Really.

I don't like his "music", I don't like the crap he puts in it, and I don't like the way he dresses himself up. That's not "small-minded fascism", that's not liking the guy's music, or the messages he puts in it, or the way he makes himself look. I never said "I don't like him because he looks weird".

And finally. This is a thread devoted to people's opinions on musical artists. My opinions, obviously, are different than yours. Your opinions are different than some of the opinions of other people here. That doesn't mean anybody here thinks they're always right or has an ego -- that means we all have our own opinions about music. Don't we? So it's foolish to say somebody needs get over their ego or realize they're not always right when you're discussin OPINIONS, especially on such a meaningless topic as music. Realize that though I may disagree with you, there are no "right" or "wrong" tastes in music -- everybody is free to listen to whatever they want. Damn buddy, get the hell over yourself.

7)The Goo Goo dolls, solely for covering and destroying "Give a Little bit"
8)Amy Grant, for having the stones to release a cover of "pave paradise" when the original had just been released and was still in heavy radio rotation
