If so, which team do you always root for? I always root for the Yankees :D
i love goin to baseball games but the sport bores me unless im the one playing, and when i go to the game i dont really watch, my friends and i just screw around in the stadium till the cops kick us out
I rooted for teh DBacks when they were actually good (and beat the Yankees in the WS I might add)
Now they suck and I really don't care about baseball very much.
Baseball is strictly American, so I know nufin about it. Its on late sometimes on C5. Looks better than footie, but I dont even know whats going on. So I quit and watch late night ( or early morning ) Hoobs !!!!
baseball is the best sport ever. Go Braves!
I'm a big Cubs fan. But I'm also kind of a Braves fan, and hope they do good, I guess.
Anybody but the Yankees, really.
I luv yankees.........
I know absolutely nothing about baseball. But I once saw Basketball. On a bus, going to a theme park. Called Alton Towers. In England. 6 hour drive from where I live.
Anyway, good film.
I love the Yankees. :)
Is that so? :eek:Quote:

This postseason I am going to be rooting for the Indians if they make it and the Astros if they make it.
I like Oakland and my current least favorite team is Texas because they are probably going to beat up on the A's after being swept by Anaheim, thus costing them the division. People don't like the A's because they know how to scout talent. They're just jealous that at team who loses their best players every year remains in contention year after year. Billy Beane makes other GMs look like monkeys.
So do you :DQuote:

Is it too late to say i luv yankees?
Yeah, the A's do a good job going against the baseball fraternity that has always dominated the sport. It's great. The Braves are the NL A's, and quite frankly are a lot better at it. I would have loved to see them in a series but Oakland has an uphill climb if they even want to make the playoffs.
And throwing $252 million at Alex Rodriguez is any less pukeworthy? :pQuote:

However, the Rangers are a fun team to watch, and the pitching staff they have at this very instant is not that atrocious.
Look on the bright side.
When Showalter leaves, the Rangers will get to the World Series.

BRAVES
RED SOX!!
Red Sox aren't even going to make the playoffs this year, which is pretty sad.
Yeah thats why its obviously the yankees
As much as that would make me really happy, I wouldn't be so sure. We have 7 games left. Anything could happen at this pointQuote:

decent pitching = no pitching in the playoffs, and really the Red Sox and Yanks are already playing playoff games.
True, but let's just see what happensQuote:

Pfhht! The NL sucks! They use pitchers as batters. LameQuote:

Fun little factioid:
The highest team bullpen ERA for any playoff team in the division era is something like 5.47 by the 1997 Seattle Mariners. Boston, for the moment, is around 5.50. Horrible pitching doesn't last in the playoffs.
Pitchers need energy. You're wasting energy when trying to hit the ball.Quote:

tell that to Dontrelle Willis. Or any of the braves starters. They aren't exactly batting champs, but they compete against each other to see who gets the most hits, lays down the most sacrifice bunts, etc.
Honestly there's no point arguing about whether or not pitchers should hit. The two leagues just have different rules, and there's honestly nothing BETTER about either of the two. It's just done differently. I can understand why AL fans want a DH, and I can understand why NL fans think the pitcher should hit.
except that the DH was just some crap the AL made up 30 years ago to keep their aging sluggers who can't run and are too lazy to keep up on their fielding. It's not like the DH has existed since the beginning of time. I bet David Ortiz would play 1st base just fine if he were forced to actually do it, and if you can't and don't get up and swing a bat then you aren't a baseball player.
DHs make good money so I don't think the position is going anywhere. I like it because it gives the leagues their own look. I also like hitting and with the pitcher ninth that pretty much makes for 2/9 at bats boring (since the number 8 hitter is usually pitched around). On the other hand, seeing pinch hitters and playing small ball in the later innings is quite exciting. So both have their strong points.
I like to watch baseball because baseball is a fun sport.
When I watch baseball I like to eat hotdogs and hamburgers and bratwurst, but not all at once.
I like the Braves and I like the Red Sox but I only liked them for forever because I always liked the underdog, but now I have a reason to like them because Curt Schilling was the man for just a little while. At least I thought so.
Also, baseball is fun to play sometimes.
Postseason begins tomorrow. I'm scared
I hope the White Sox don't win. I don't think they're very good or exciting. The Padres are also not very good. They both need early exits.
go Braves.
I second that, though I don't care about baseball much anymore.
I hope Chicago beats Boston. I don't want another Yankees vs. Red Sox war for the 3rd straight year
I don't really care about this year. I'd like to see the White Sux and the Cardinals both get knocked out...and of course I'd like to see the Braves take it, but we all know that's not going to happen. I bet they look forward to making it into the postseason so they can relax and start losing.
