That could be interesting, however, it's also false. The idea for Roger & me, and most of the documentation comes from union acitivists from Flint who thought at the time that Moore would help them, but quickly removed all mentions of their work/fight for GM employees to make it a movie about Moore.
Read for yourself.
Also, it should be noted that Moore isn't from Flint (low class suburb), but from Davison (upper middle class suburb).
