Beating Emerald Weapon without Materia

Has anyone here ever beaten Emerald weapon without any Materia at all? I have took me Dozens of X-Potion's and Megaelixer's to do it also.

how do u do that? no underwater materia with no 4x cut? messed up... seems impossible.

Even with all the materia i had, it took me bout 16 mins to beat him.

Just thinking now, it would be inpossible for you to beat him without no materia(that includes underwater materia).

Like G SpOtZ said, it seems impossible.

I only attack with Limit breaks. I used a party of Cid, Tifa and Cloud. I basically didnt attack at all just healed every time he attacked, then when my limit break is charged i attacked.

It's do-able, one thing that rally helps (though I haven't done it) is the fact that you can use materia before hand and max your stats. This way Omnislash+Hero's Drink will do a huge amount of damage. And without KoTr not a lot of time is wasted. Highwind with maxed out stats as well, and probably Yuffie's bloodfest are best for this. Or maybe Ungarmax. It seems very possible though.

And of course Emeralds Aire Dam Tyre Storm does nil

Emerald weapons air tyre storm does 1111 hp damage per Materia equiped. So it did nothing to my party.

That's what he said. Nil=Nothing, Zero, Zip, Nada, etc...

Beating Emerald without Materia isn't too hard. Just go in with Fury on all party members, and bring lots of Megalixirs.

i thought it was aire tam storm.... backwards "materia"
and yeah it's not supposed to do anything, which is a huge advantage, and as long as you used the w-item trick to give urself 99 megalixers and 99 hero drinks. (also, hypers might help so if your character is in the Fury state, s/he will get a limit break quicker)
i also recommend sprint shoes, and each character with their final weapon, and i don't know about armor. if anybody can recommend good armor (besides the assumable mystile armor lol)
i personally like tifa, yuffie, and cloud. Yuffie's doom of the living is nice, and tifa's limit but i guess it's a little long....

anybody else got something to add? or separate suggestions?

Good armor? The Ziedrich, obviously. I mean, best stats in the game, and since you're not using Materia anyway...

would high defense lower the frequency of limit breaks occuring? because it depends on the amount of damage you take...

Yeah but since Emerald weapons attack are powerfull anyway. Limit break's take 3-2 hit's to fill up top's. But i didnt use a Ziedrich. (Forgot about them at that time).

if u haven't got 3 zeidrich then warrior bangle might help (provided u got it of course!) tho i dont know if it's stats are better than mystile. thats ur job!!!

Yeah it can be done, it isnt that difficult when you know how, but Ruby weapon is a different matter....

ATTACK UNLESS YOU HAVE A LIMIT. The rest of the time you should quickly heal
any character who are injured, either with an X-potion or an elixir. If the
whole party is in critical, use a megalixir. As long as you use a limit the
second it appears, you can defeat emerald quite easily. If this doesn''t work
the first time round, keep trying. It''ll be down to luck most of the time, but
perserverance is the key.

Well.....Emerald Weapon really takes me back BUT its actually possible to beat him without any materia all you need are....

ALL character lvl 99
ALL Ultimate Limit Breaks(Get That Omnislash Ready)
Lotta Life And Strength
.....
And A Lotta Luck!!!!!

Thats basically what i did except i used Cloud, Tifa and Cid and not Cloud , Tifa and Yuffie.

I'm working towards my ultimately innachievable goal! I will beat Ruby and Emerald with no Materia and without Limit Breaks. Chance of survival= zip squit, nada N/A. But I jst gotta try it.

i have done it put it took a lot of stat powering up and megalixiers. and ziedrichs. i used yuffie cloud and cid

the next best armour after ziedrich for the fight is adaman bangle. but it makes it a little harder. i thought emerald was ok without materia (without limits would be insane) ruby without materia i found a lot harder

I've beaten both without materia and without stats boosting (no powerup-sources used trough the whole game).

Emerald is extremely easy compared to 95% of all the other challanges I've done, but Ruby on the other hand is without a doubt 1 of the hardest so far.
