But really, this brings up some good points.
Excellent points. Really. One thing what I liked when readying Shaking Hands with the Devil by Romeo Dallaire was the fact he mentioned that when others suffer and we watch it on TV, we may sympathesis at that moment, but then we will change the channel and forget about them, moving on with our lives. It is scary how we can just do that. I thin we need to start feeling pity and actually do something. It is just as bad as to not do something as doing the wrong thing. Inaction is unethical. Who I am to talk, I can just change the channel, or go to another site, and by tomorrow it will all be forgotten and I will sleep tonight without wincing from thinking about the others who are suffering.
Ya know, I love foamy the squirrel, and I especially like his songs on squirrely wrath, but I wouldn't go so far as to call him liberal. Mostly, he just has an astounding amount of common sense (a trait I actually find lacking in most liberals). Honestly, man, why you gotta catagorize a squirrel? Why can't he just be a kick-ass little guy who buys haunted toasters or raves against coffee shops? Me, I'm neither a liberal nor a conservative, I think it's stupid to catagorize yourself as either because there is so much more to life than being 'progressive' or 'traditional,' respectively.
But I definitely agree with what he had to say about the Hurricane. Which is why I'm glad I'm in the Navy, cause despite what any of you can say about the military, I would just like to point out that about 75% of hurricane relief aid came from the United States Navy. Hospital ships, bases of operations, floating refugee cities; we pretty much replaced every necessity that the people lost in the flood. And news anchors deserve to die (not really, but just to make the point). They are petty, inconsiderate people who usually only care about their own ratings and could care less who is affected by their stories. I got more to say on the matter, but I have to take a shower and then go to morning quarters formation. Peace!

The entire notion of left and right winged is a failure. There are so many complexities even within a single political party that there's no point calling anyone left or right winged. Libertarianism is all about freedom, that's all. Freedom in both the economic and social spheres. The freedom to buy drugs legally, and the freedom to keep your money so you can afford to.Quote:

Ummm Canada too, but we are a capitalist nation as I assume those other countries are too. The thing is that we implement socialist programs into our practices. So really you cannot say it because they are not capitalist, it is more of a mutual relationship. I think social programs in countries are a good thing. That does not mean I want my country to be socialist or communist. Anyways the point is in moderation, to introduce social programs in the country can be good. Also you have to realize that in Canada we pay more taxes than Americans. ou have to weight your options. It would not surprise me if they had higher taxes in the before mention nations too.
This has been on Newgrounds for a month now. It's not new, but it really speaks everytime I hear/watch it.
What? I'm not rich. I don't even have a car. I'm free. I can visit many other countries. I can form relationships with many people unhindered. I can get many kinds of education. I can try for many jobs. I can get a great many jobs, although I'm sure the horrible bourgeous demand for expertise in a profression will kill that idea. Anyways, you're missing the point. I can argue about the most effective systems endlessly, but it really doesn't matter. I will still support libertarianism even if it causes more death, higher unemployment, and a lower standard of living for the majority of people. It's not about efficiency, it's about right and wrong. And it's wrong to take money by force.
Example: My girlfriend just noted she's had about $450 of her so-far earned ~$2500 taken in taxes. She does not owe anyone anything. Additionally, she has given a great deal of that money to support her family. Why are some strangers she'll never meet, who she'll never know whether or not they made use of her effort, more important than her family?

All i have to say is..although Hurricane Katrina is sad not everyone has to worry and feel bad because of it..yes sad but we dont have to obsess over it and make our day feel horrible. What do you expect us to do? NOT move on? Thats all.
