What is your favorite moment/scene in FF8?
One of mine would have to be when Laguna is in the bar at the Galbadia Hotel and is talking to Julia, and when she suggests to go talk in her room he jumps up and yells "In your room!!!" and the camera zooms out and everyone is crowed around the table. lol :D
MY favorite moment is when Squall is holding Rinoa and she says that it reminds her of her mother. So then Squall says that he's not her mother.
LOL. that's a really good one too. He tells her to sit in her seat like 5 times.
Those are both good moments. Mine is when Squall takes Rinoa across the FH bridge. He really opens up here. Plus the music there is great and so is the scenery with the sunset and all. Good stuff.

mine is when rinoa goes in a coma because she doesn't follow me around and doesn't get in my way and make squall into a softy.
EDIT: nvm, that moment made squall more into a softy. but still, she didn't follow me around and get in the way. never liked rinoa anyway.
That can't make him soft, it makes him mature, there is a difference. It really shows his love for Rinoa, and there woulldn't be a ff8 without that. When was the last time a softie up and decides to cary someone for miles through unknown lands, all alone, without a care for the dangers thatr may lay ahead. No softie would try that. The scene in the pilot's seat on the Ragnarok is by far the best scene in any game I have played.
(except for a scene in shadow hearts 2 that is almost as good, but I'm not allowed to discuss that here am I?)

Another good scene is when the guard is tourturing Squall and the only come-back he can say is "flowers".
The opening will forever be the best opening of any game ever. I always liked whenever they were at FH. The game seemed more lighthearted. Esthar was just cool. And meeting Laguna as the President was pretty cool. Laguna in Deling City was a really great sequence. Anytime Zell is on screen. Squall telling Quistis to 'talk to a wall'. Irvine was awesome, too, especially post disc 1. He really comes into his own and gives up the playboy facade. That was real great to see. And I'm quite shocked no one mentioned the kiss at the end.

I REALLY loved the "Waltz for the Moon" scene, where Squall and Rinoa meet for the first time during the SeeD party. Not only is it a great, energetic arrangment of "Eyes On Me," but the cinematography is so beautiful. When Squall and Rinoa bump into another couple, you can read Rinoa's face so perfectly well. And of course, it's a very comedic but also significant scene.

The top 5 moments in FFXIII are as follows:
1. The ending FMV, the last thing you see when you see Rinoa. ( I was sooo happy)
2. Disc 3 Ragnarok pilot seat scene to Eyes on Me
3. New Game fmv ending with the feathers and the clip from the esthar rescue scene
4. The SEED party Dance
5. The Space FMV when she's floating away and you see the Lionheart ring on her chain floating and the tear she cries.
These are undisputably the best scenes, there is no room for contestment, and sorry folks, Kiros, Laguna, and Ward have no place on the list.

It has to be in da intro of the game when Squall gets hit in da face by Seifer and Squall comes back and gives Seifer a slash in da face

The Opening, my God!!!! It's definitely the best in any game ever. It's not my favorite scene though. Damn, what was I about to say, oh!!! I think the part when Quistis and Squall are walking through the hallway and the camera pulls back to show all of Balamb Garden. SO COOL!
Yeah, the opening intro is pretty cool, mainly because the Liberi Fatala (probably spelt that wrong but I don't care) song. The fight sequence was nicely done as well.Quote:

I like scenes that show a litle development in squalls character or totaly rip into somone for example the FH bridge rinoa and squall thing or when quistis thanks seifer after he says save it for a lesser student who needs it
I've read some of what your favorite parts in FFVIII are and I like most of what you guys have posted. The one that stood out for me was when Squall and Rinoa danced the first time in Disc 1. I also like "Waltz for the Moon" and thought it was a perfect musical piece for that scene. I thought it was kind of funny that Zell is trying to get Squall's attention and he keeps ignoring him and tries to ignore Rinoa but she throws him on the dance floor! She might as well said: "You ain't going nowhere honey!":D
mine was at the very ending (after all the credits) when u see squall smile at rinoa...that was sweet

That was a little confusing at first when Squall collapses to the ground. However, at the very end you see Squall at a party with the rest of the crew alive and well. Check the end again while the credits roll; the scene was actually pretty amusing.Quote:

Though I have a lot of scenes that I like on my mind, this is the one that I'm thinking of right now:
During the Garden Battle sequence, when the camera pans down to the entrance of the Garden, and Irvine, Zell, and Selphie are running around, doing their thing, and then at the gate you just see Quistis and Xu, standing there looking out and waiting.
I always thought that that was a nice touch.

Oh! I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but I liked the scene when Quistis blasted that robot and Squall landed on the ship.
The bit where I turn the console off. That always leaves me with a nice warm fuzzy feeling. Sometimes, I just turn the game on so I can turn it off :D

There are a lot of moments that I liked, but the ones that were really just eye-catching and dramatic, for me...Oh, heck. I'll just pick one. Two.

When Fuujin and Raijin confronted Seifer in the Lunatic Pandora, and Fuujin actually broke her usual speech pattern--not only that, but the /way/ she spoke. That was a very striking moment.
Eh. It's my least favourite FF, but it's still way better than 90% of video games out there. I was being facetious. I do that a lot. I guess the Battle of the Gardens is my real favourite moment. That was cool and really well doneQuote:

The Garden Battle sequence is very dramatic. There are a lot of things in it of which I've very fond. There's the big epic stuff, of course, and then there's just the smaller details that kind of make it all better. I'm totally with you, there.
Any scene featuring Squall and Rinoa. They made me laugh and cry.
I liked a lot of the Laguna scenes, he just made everything great. The movie-making part, his encounter with Julia, etc. I think the funniest was in FH where the kid keeps breaking crap with the fishing line, that was just priceless. And when you go up to Zell's room and the various scenarios play out, like with Irvine and the gunshot. Too many good memories.
Well first off, Squall isn't visable at the party in those home movie scenes, so you have to wait till AFTER the credits roll. But yeah, he's there. Yeah...at first I was confused if he was alive or not too.:confused: Especially when you see Rinoa in the home video standing by herself. I thought right then, "Okay...Squall definetly died." BUT!!! I decided to keep the game on after the credits, and...VOILA!!! I had a feeling they were going to do something, cause in Kingdom Hearts they had something after the credits, and after I played 8 I noticed the same thing in X and X-2. So now I just keep it on when the credits finish...just to be on the safe side...;)Quote:

Apart from various tear-pullers throughout the game, I liked the Galbadia Garden Storm. I though it was neatly made with the resources they've had.
Yeah. Too many to name, but then that's why this thread was made wasn't it? :) I do like Laguna though. He added alot of comedy relief and made some scenes better. Such as the scene in the flashback when he gets to meet Julia. His leg cramping up...oh my...:laughing: sounds like something I would never do. :shifty:Quote:
