only one syllabe for it,....
Or is that 2 ????
Rubedo: I'll watch it because the rock is in there.
may7be he'll do the people's elbow
Is he still doing the wrestling gig?
Are you saying that because you've seen clips, or just on the principle that it's a video game movie? I've seen a good bit of footage that was shown at QuakeCon and it actually looks like it might be good, or at least true to the original.Quote:

I'm going to see it the first day. I'm quite sure it will be a bad movie, however, I think it will be a fun bad movie.
My Cinema class was discussing this movie the other day. Apparently, the movie uses the first person angle quite a bit which is pretty unusual for any major non-avant-garde/experimental film. Can't say I'm interested in the least.
Some of my favourite movies are "bad" movies. Anything with Christopher Lambert for example.Quote:

I read one review, but that was by a ridiculously obsessed, die-hard Doom fan who was obviously determined to hate the movie no matter what. From what I've read, the film actually has quite a bit of potential. I've never played any of the games, so I don't particularly care either way.*cough*Quote:

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've seen the previews, and I'm not very interested.
I do hope it's decent though, we're finally (within the last... oh, 5 or more years) starting to get really good adaptations of comic books and movies, and it'd be nice to see a trend of well done video game movies outside of Japan.
There is! Big D beat me to it!Quote:

There's so much cheese there, it makes me hungry.

A silly shooting game turns into a silly action movie. No surprize there!
The Rock is in it and I, therefore, refuse to see it.
It like "OMFG he raised an eyebrow!!! lets put him in a movie!!!!"
Stupid to say the least! Ill watch it though im not gonna judge before i see it.
^ lol.
I looks pretty crap, it looks too much like Alien to me.
He probably will.Quote:

And he did the people's eyebrow somewhere in it too..........
Get this
you know the Cartoon network show Johnny Bravo?
well theyre making the movie and the rock will play Johnny
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0406890/
the rock is in everything.
CAS HE IS THE ROCK
HIS FIRST ROLE was in the mummy returns
cause he is the rock
So Doom has been movie-nized aswell.
I've heard about a Devil May Cry movie and that's about it so far.
Doom. That movie is absolutely, totally, completely.....mediocre. Everything felt so.....done. Kind of a "Been there, done that" vibe. Iunno, maybe it's because it's 180th movie to use the living undead premise. GIVE IT UP! IT'S DEAD! (No pun intended)
However, it did have it's moments, and I'll never deny that (That GODDAMN monkey :hot: ) and I liked the morality play on the whole thing (A new twist on an old thing...:p)
All in all, I'd give it a solid C.
I was right.Quote:

I've only two quibbles with DOOM:
1) It's an R rated film guys, I don't see any reason why they would make the creatures human mutations instead of minions of Hell. Building a teleporter that accidently leads to Hell is a better story than humans mutated by a selective "evil" virus anyway.
2) I could have done without the fistfight at the end. This was probably the only part of the movie where I pretty much lost the DOOM feeling.
You've clearly never taken down a Cyberdemon with just your fists in berserk mode XD
I just got back from it...talk about terrible. And by terrible, I mean highly entertaining. I was especially pleased to see (SPOILER)The Rock die. :D
I think it was the second worst live action game movie ever made. The worst is still Street Fighter.
And the winner for generic action movie of the year is - Doom!
no way Halo will kick its ass
Generic is not a compliment.
o....
Tell that to Commando!Quote:

That movie was generic as hell with half assed everything including infinite ammo guns...and itING ROCKED!
There are movies that are so bad, so formulaic, that they're awesome. But that's still not a compliment.
like a 'why did the chicken cross the road?' of movies.
Stay essential

I went and saw DooM the day i came out, an wow! Let me tell ya! It was the first movie the Rock didn't compltely kill (like the Scorpian king, or anyother movie he was in) because he didn't have to show emotion, just be really P.O.ed thought the whole movie, which seemed to come naturally to him. Although rated (R) in the 'states', DooM was 14A here, so that means I went with my friend. Even though I was glad to get in, I really thought it should've been rated (R) because there were some preatty gorey parts in that movie. Semi Spoilier - (SPOILER)In one part, a womans hand got caught in a door, and the preassure of the blood amounted and her arm blew off, spraying blood everywhere.
Overall, it was a good movie, with a bit more polishing,it would've been one of the greatest movies ever, okay well not the greatest movie, but a very good one! I don't care waht other people think of it, I thought it was good execpt for the stupid fight at the end "Semper Fidel Mutha****a! true to the Core!" - more like GAY to the core...
My rating: ***1/2 out of *****
Uk release date, I kinda want to see this....
I don't know why but I lol'd. <3Quote:

HOW DARE YOU!!!!!! THAT FPS SCENE WAS THE GREATEST PART OF THE MOVIE!!!!! It's a re4volutionary technique that has been never done like DooM! I curse you to the gods! Praying so that you will have a life of sickness and pain! (okay, well, not that bad, but I'm still sickened to my verry inner core that you would blam the FPS!)Quote:
