CAPITAL LETTERS ARE OVERRATED

just for the record, the debate between the spelling of "capitalization" vs. "capitalisation" (and its correctness) will not be tolerated in this thread. for all my posts, "capitalize" may also be read as "capitalise". please don't argue with me about it or i'll be forced to modwhore. and that makes me cry.

how often do you capitalize words when typing conversationally (as we do on forums or in instant messages or emails or stuff like that)? do you ever use all caps to shout? do you capitalize just the word "I" (as i used to and still sometimes revert to)? any comments on capital letters are appreciated, really. discuss.

I try to be grammatically correct in forum conversation. Sometimes I get lazy or won't capitalize because I typed a sentence fragment. In IMs it depends on the person. Capitalization is a form of intimidation.

Typing here or anywhere else makes no difference. I try to be grammatically correct in all written conversation and I use caps where ever they are required. Typing in all caps is something that I almost never do. I might have once or twice for emphasis. :cat:

oh yes, on the occasions I do use caps, I use my shift key. usually the left one. damn i'm cool :cool:

I always like to capitalize because leaving it "i" makes me feel weird.

I also use caps a lot. At least, when I'm in a good and/or hyper mood.

I like my sentences to look like sentences, so I generally capitalize. When I'm excited or something, though, more often than not I'll leave off punctuation and capitalization, or just type in all caps.
