Randy Rhoads
Jimi Hendrix
Jimi Page
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Eddy van Halen
That's all I can think of right now.
Antti Kokko, John Petrucci, Eric Clapton, Jimi Page, Richie Blackmore, Joe Walsh.
1. Mike McCready
2. Dave Mustaine
3. Jerry Cantrell
4. RIP Dimebag Darrell
I'm mainly a singer fan though.
Jake E lee is a pretty awesome gutaritst, he was with ozzy for a while....
Deron Miller (CKY), Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) and Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins). I used to be all about the mad soloing skills, but for a while I've had a preference for guitarists that have their own style musically.
I like soloing cause its easy....thats why in my band i do all soloing.......
ive got a few, thes are in no particular order
Andy Powell (Wishbone Ash)
Dave Murray (Iron Maiden)
Joe Satrianni
K.K Downing (Judas Priest)
David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)
Jimmy Page (Led Zepplin) :choc:
K.K. downing is a very talented solist, Doesnt Judas priest have two main guitarists
Judas priest does indeed have two main guitarists, Glen Tipton is th eother, but i prefer KK.Downing's name and hair :D
:choc:
I always thought Halford was the coolest.
Tracy Chapman.
Halford is the coolest, he was really great when i saw them in march :choc:Quote:

I didnt like tim ripper owens however.
John Fruisciante. Maybe not the best songs, but he's probably one of the greatest guitarists alive. Maybe the best.
nah he just didnt fit in with the Priest (they did fire him after they got Halford back anyway) although their song "the ripper" is fantastic :choc:Quote:

If they wrote another Painkiller, everyone would have been blown the effing hell away.
Anyways.
Daniel Gildenlow
Blakkheim
Toby Driver
Roine Stolt
Steve Vai
Johan Halgren
O I forgot the add Daniel Johns.
Glen Campbell.
John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
Mark Tremonti (Creed)
Steve Vai.
Kristen Hersh
Billy Corgan

John Frusciante (Chili Peppers)
Dave Navarro (Ex-Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction)
Kirk Hamett (Metallica)
Zack Wylde (Ozzy)
Jimi Hendrix
Larry Lalonde (Primus)
Jagori Tanna (I Mother Earth)
Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains)
Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)
Kurt Cobain (Still love those simple riffs he came up with)
Anyone who hasn't heard of I Mother Earth, I recommend you give it a listen. Preferably their first 2 albums, "Dig" (1993) and "Scenery and Fish" (1996). Great guitar work. Sort of Alternative or Metal/Funk, with some slight Carlos Santana influence in Jag's guitar at times. Great Bassist too.
I'm loving his Alter Bridge stuff. Just full on hard rock.Quote:

B.C. rich mocking bird, the bc rich zombie, anything by BC rich.
I never really cared for B.C Rich's. ESPECIALLY the Warlock. Sure, it's pretty but it's quality of sound is mediocre at best, IMO.
B.C. rich guitars are the guitars god uses!
Everyone knows Christian rock sucks.Quote:

I heart my Stratocaster. Even if it isn't one of the good ones from the seventies.
That's all I have to say about that.
is it fender?
I don't know much to comment on favourite guitars, but my favourite guitarists would be Stevie Ray Vaughan and Gary Moore, along with a bit of Santana.
Strats are sweet, I don't think Hendrix is the most skillful guitarist ever but he's so awesome that I can't imagine going away from the type he used.
STRATS ROCK!!!
Stratocasters are pretty nice, except behringer strats, they suck.......
It's all about the Gibson SG baby.
I don't know. I guess he finds that he has to switch guitars every so often. :DQuote:

Kirk Hammett kinda a mixed bag - some solos are dull as ditch, some are hot shizzle. Same With Dimebag.
My favorite would still be Eric Clapton, though Hendrix is wonderful to listen to as well.
Take care all.
Classical/finger style:
Tommy Emmanuel (the best ever, no competition)
Alex DeGrassi
I like this guitar right here
Okay, I'm kind of late, but...
Eddie Van Halen (AKA God)
Dave Knudson from Minus the Bear and Botch (super technical, way unique style, complete mastery of the DL-4)
Eric Johnson (Hellooooooo have you heard "Cliffs of Dover?")
Tom Morello
Tom Scholtz (Boston... tone for daaaaaaaaaaaaays. All his solos are the same, but, oh, that tone. So good.)
These dudes from this band called Tera Melos. I can't remember their names off the top of my head, but that band is insanely good.
Aaaaaaaaand.... I'm lame, so I want a PRS Custom 22.
In may i get to buy the B.C. rich mocking bird, arent i lucky?
Frank from MCR (My Chemical Romance)
Ray from MCR
Mikey from MCR
That electric guitar player from Nirvana (Not Kurt Cobain)
Those two guys from Blink-182. I forgot their names. Tom Hoppus and the other guy..
Richie Sambora or sumthing lol
leadbelly
Jimi Hendrix and Joe Perry and Caleb, Matthew and Jared Followill
I'm not going to bother pointing out how stupid those choices are, but there's only two guitarists. One of them (I don't know or care which) is the bassist. Besides, you only chose them cos of the band, not on individual merits.Quote:

Yet another bassist. Bass and guitar are different.Quote:

I like Kirk hammets soloing, He's a pretty awesome lead guitar player.
Yet a Bass is a type of guitar so when someone says favorite "guitarist" they could mean a bass. And MCR being horrible?? You know there's this thing called opinion. Im sure you've heard of it. If not, then your sad...Quote:

These are the guitarists that really stand out from the crowd to me. All the others like Slash etc. don't really jump out at me. Just a pile of wank with fast fingers.
no, guitarist plays guitar, bassist plays bassQuote:

No seriously. Isn't a Bass a type of guitar?? So it's only right that a rock n00b, like me, think you mean any guitar. I rest my goddamn case...Quote:

Whats your point. That had nothing to do with this argument/conversation/witty chat...
For god sakes man! dont you get it! this topic is called favorite GUITARISTS, NOT favorite bass players
Yes after you briefly explained that crap. But guitarists being more renowned then bassist?? Nothin' to do with the argument, pal...
crash could have gotten out of this mess by claiming he meant pat smear :shame:

Tom Morello
John Frusciante
Jimi Hendrix
Jimmy Page
Kurt Cobain
Slash
Billy Corgan
