^Fanboyish comments have nothing to do with how good a game's soundtrack is.

To me, FFIV and VI both have the best sountrack in the series (Zeromus' theme, Dancing Mad, Kefka's theme, Aria di mezzo caraterre, etc.)

No soundtrack grabs me emotionally as much as the X soundtrack does.

Primarily the intro and Besaid theme.

I always feel like I have to play FF when I hear X music.

In order from best soundtrack to the not so great. (In my opinion)

1.FFVI
2.FFX
3.FFX-2 (Yes, I did enjoy that game and it's music)
4.FFVII
5.FFII
6.Mystic Quest had some pretty decent stuff
7.FFIV
8.FFIII

Anything left out means I didn't enjoy it in any way.

the songs that stand out for me are.

Yunalesca's battle theme... whatever thats called FFX (it makes you feel you need to save the world).
J-E-N-O-V-A FFVII (if someone hates this song... i will personnaly make them come to like it).
Disquiet FFX-2 (one of the "good" songs of ffx-2).
Premonition FFVIII (it suits the mood brilliantly).

1. FFX
2. FFT
3. FFVII
4. FFVIII
5. Chrono Trigger (I know it's not mainstream FF, but it was one of the best soundtracks ever!)
6. and FFVI's final boss themes

VII had a good sountrack, but I feel it's lacking something when compared to the games before it, I dunno, call me crazy, but I just feel some of the songs lack emotion.

I must, however, admit the game had some good pieces of music, such as (The horribly overrated and with ripped off lyrics yet still a decent song) One Winged Angel, J-E-N-O-V-A, Still more fighting, and other stuff I can't think of now.

VI had the best sountrack in the series, if you ask me (Then again, I can be called biased as hell), due to songs such as Kefka's theme, Awakening, Aria Di Mezzo carattere, The Decisive battle, Dancing Mad, Devil's Lab, etc.

Since we seem to be polling for the best and worst of Final Fantasy in this forum, we mind as well poll the best music. Or a greatest hits of Nobuo Uematsu if you will. So the question is: Which game has the best music overall?

I have a whole CD that I burned that is full of FFVIII music. Then I made another CD with more music from FF VI, VII, and X, and the other FFVIII's that I didn't have room for on the first one.

Final Fantasy VIII has Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec, the Piano collection, and also OSV, all are great, I listen to them everyday. They really help me to get in a particular mood that I like. Some Greek philosopher said that music can influence you, and he's right, final fantasy music really influences me!

I LOVE THE MUSIC IN FINAL FANTASY VIII!!!:love: Yeah, I listen to the piano collection when I'm in a relaxed mood, (Ami) and the more upbeat ones when I'm more jumpy. (Mods de Chocobo) I listen to Eyes On Me almost everyday!!!:D Final Fantasy X is DEFINETLY my second favorite though.:)

7 & 10 have the best music. 8 comes in a close third to 10. But 7 is much more emotionally impacting for me.
