Eternal Sunshine: Wow. Pretty much most of the memory scenes.

Fight Club: The Ending sequence, when Bob is shot

Life Aqautic: Ned's death and the wonderful Jaguar Shark encounter scene. Perfect mood and music.

OK, rather than asking what other people though, you made a list... well, judging by your choice of viewing, you know a lot more about movies than me, so fair enough. My idea of a powerful scene is where Mean Machine Angel uses his power-robo-arm to smach through someone's face, or where a ninja uses his ultra-ninja-power to jump over a 50-foot wall and land on someone's head.

Well the point of the thread was to list what you thought were the most powerful/emotional movie scenes.

Requiem for a Dream's ending really did a number on me.

Spinal Tap, the arguement between the singer and the guitar player.

Hmm lets see

Bicentennial Man-the whole jumping out the window and consequence window fear scenes, the ending scene

Edward Scissorhands-when the inventor dies

The Rocky Horror Picture Show-just because that movie is so bizarre you'll never forget (no matter how much you might try)

Schindler's List-the whole thing

Actually, I have a few ideas: the scene at the end of The Shawshank (sp?) Redepmtion, and that bit in We Were Soldiers (though I think it's a deleted scene) were Mel Gibson's character is talking to the poltician guy, who says that the US will drive them back home, and Melony gives a little speech about them 'already being home'. I don't know why, exactly, but that was quite good.

Actually the man murdered him not because the man himself was homosexual, but because he thought his son was having homosexual relations with Kevin Spacey's character.

Oh man, in Unbreakable, thr entire part from where Bruce Willis' character is in the mall touching different people, to when he finally kills the murderer in that house. I love that scene so much. Very powerful.

There's a lot of stuff from LotR, but if you've seen the extended version (who hasn't? :( ), there's the scene where Boromir is in Gondor talking to all of the people...yeah, that one. I'm mad that wasn't included in the theatrical release. But I guess it's really not a big deal so wuteva.

Yeah, I did watch the movie. Of course it's been probably two years, so pardon me if I mixed that up. All I remember was that he was shot at the end, sometime after he was fondeling that young girls' breasts and whatnot.

Actually, though, that movie is just RICH with scenes that just took your breath away, even though they were very simple. For example, the scene where David slides his paper over to Joseph and shows him the article on the mysterious hero. To me, at this point in the film David has become what every father wants to be to his son and what every son idealizes his father as; a legendary hero.

However, the end of the film, this sense of belonging and specialness David has developed as a result of understanding he can help people, and that he can be a hero to his son and a loving husband comes crashing down when the man who led him to what he became, Elijah, turns out to be the ultimate evil David would face. That part right there, before either of them say a word, right after David sees all the newspaper articles and the half finished bombs, there's this look on Bruce Willis's face that makes my knees buckle.

Oh man, I love Bruce Willis.

I suggest you watch the movie again, then comment. He tried to kiss him, Spacey regected & he killed him.

The final battle in The Last Samurai, when the samurai charged at the modernised Japanese military, going down in a blaze of honour, damning the chain-guns.

One movie scene that really got to me was Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, when they light the fires to send a message to Rohan from Gondor, and you see those breathtaking scenes, with that beautiful music playing.

The graphic scene in The War Zone, very disturbing.

The part when Darth Vadar finds out Padme died, I've never cried so much in my life.

Last Samuri when Tom Cruses charecter keeps getting knoced down by the samuri with the bokuto in the rain. but he just keeps on standing up, even though he knows he has no way of winning.

In a porno when they finally have hawt sex. Its one of the most powerful scenes out there. Moves me everytime. Literally! :3

The Last Samurai: "Perfect... they are all perfect."

Edward Scissorhands: When it's snowing right at the end

Crash: When Farhad shoots Daniel, but Daniel's daughter Lara gets in the way.

Star Wars Episode III left a great impression on me the entire way, especially at the fights between Yoda and Sidious, and Anakin and Obi-Wan. The ending was also awe inspiring.

The whole ending of Alien 3 was nice.

A war movie named "The Bridge At Remegan" where a grizzled army sargeant goes upstairs to hunt for a sniper in a hotel. He bursts through the door and shoots the sniper as he turns around, only to find that it was a young boy firing the weapon. I'll never forget the agony on the sargeant's face as he thought about what he had done.

ooooh the piano scene in the pianist. brilliant.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - "Go home, Sam."

Gladiator - The scene where Maximus discovers his family has been crucified by Commodus.

Se7en - The climactic scene out in the desert. "John Doe has the upper hand!"
