Cids hair cut is somewhat similar.

Hmmm, maybe so you've voted yes too, excellent, I wonder if Squaresoft intentially made him that way.

In the artwork he looks like Robin Williams a little bit, but all similarity is lost in-game or in FMVs.

Well of cours in the game because his face is rendered by the bad graphics, if you voted no, then who was the third yes?

I actually thought this long before I saw the artwork. Not so much in FMVs, but upon seeing Cid in the in-game scenes, Robin Williams popped into my head almost right away.

May not have been on purpose, as any inspiration for character appearance usually comes from their own shores. Dunno.

Yeah, I think Cid looks like Robin Williams. And I definitely do not think Square made Cid look like him purposefully.

The first time I played FFVIII, I almost killed myself laughing when I saw Cid. This was followed by many Genie jokes.

I think he looks more like Elton John.

in that picture he definetly looks like robin williams but in the game its hard to tell.

Yeah, he really looks a lot like Robin Williams. Which is cool, cause he's awesome. Although they don't really act a whole lot alike, but that wasn't the question!

He does appear to have a Robin Williams-ness about him

I find it interesting that of all the works that Robin Williams has done, you choose to single him out as "the guy who played Patch Adams."

Cid=Robin williams

I'm starting think square did it on purpose. Lots of FF characters look like celebrities. (My favorite is tidus looking like Meg Ryan)

I think the idea was that most people knew who robin williams was.
