It took me about 6 months to realise that you could fight the battles with two players if you wanted, so when i realised, my brother helped me out, and i have to say its a lot more fun having someone help you out.
Does anyone else do it this way?

No, I'm alone in my like of Final Fantasy in my household.

I usually end up telling my friend what to do, even though he has just as much knowledge of Final Fantasy as I do, and then we just end up fighting. Thats when I whip his ass
No.
me and a friend tried it out, but it was kinda crappy. I prefered just playing myself.
heh never knew u coudl actully play 2 player o well
I made my sister play FFIX with me one time. We did pretty well. We beat quite a few enemies. She was kind of slow though, so when I wanted to be cured I was holding onto the edge of the seat, biting my nails saying "Heal! Now! YAAAH! QUICKLY!" :D
i did with my brother once when he had time and didnt mind, he doesn't play ff much though, and that was fun cause i'd just reached Dali, i was about 10 and it was the first ff i'd played, and he'd already got to near the end so it was great for me having support cause we worked as a team and have a similar battle style (pummel them with attack constantly and heal only when necesary, not as frequently as we should to keep safe) but when i tried with my friend in Mount Gulug it was terrible cause she was near the beginning and had to use every ability that she didn't have (most of them) and they didn't help at all and it was a huge pain she has an incredibly defensive battle technique that is so defensive it doesn't actually work, she spends far more time healing than attacking and then she dies despite the healing cause her characters MP gets exhausted and then she wonders why at it annoying so that didn't work out at all. i prefer fighting alone but i wouldn't say 'no' if my brother wanted to fight with me
I played with my roommate at college last year. It was all sorts of fun. :D
O_O You can play two player on it? Wow I never knew that heh, guess I'll have to try it...it could be fun.
i usally just put in wireless conntrolers andput them both on 1st player:D
...ok then...
Friend and I tried once, but it got a little confusing and messed up. Accidentally ended up attacking eachother for whatever reason. : p
Well in the final dungeon my final party was Zidane, Steiner, Garnet and freya so I took the boy characters and my girlfriend took the girl characters and we owned the final boss
me and my sis playe it once... it was super lame... was too much of the FF:CC mess i dug myself into... for somereason 6you can never quite get your friends to stop beingstupid... *sigh*
no one is allowed to touch when i am playing so no way!!! :)
Hell yeah I use 2 player.
I like being left alone when I play, and I like having completely control over my characters.
A friend and I played the 2 player once and we owned all the battles. Since we are both guys we just split the pary even. At the begining we swiched controllers when our character came up so we did not have to just have ''control in the battles" It was really fun.
I've tried it before, but it was with a newb so it really wasn't that fun. You really need to find someone with as much experience on FF9 as you do for it to work.
I played with my friend when fighting the boss at crystal world. I end up when fighting necron cause my friend accidentally hit eiko and eiko's death. it's hard to revive her cause necron use neutral ring to me when my HP is lower than 500
Sometimes I played the 2 player mode with my brother, but he got bored quickly 'cause he wasn't really into the whole game and didn't want to just wait for battles. So I kept playing 2 player when I had friends over. Though mostly I played by myself. The 2 player mode was pretty much 5% of my gameplay. And it was on a second (or third) play anyway.
Me and a friend used to play two player after we had both finished the game a couple of times.
It was fun :)
I always settle down with my FF's alone.

before my brother passed away me and him found out that there was two players on it he freaked out and started to co-op and level (rest in peace)
It's gopod when You're training and you get your friend to help so they're not just watching you play.
id like two player a lot more if i was playing with a friend who was good at FF. but it was okay for a first try seems as it was against trance kuja.
I played it once when one of our family friends came over so he wasn't just watching. I really like the idea of it but still he was a noob at FF so I just told him what to do.
I agree, but FF fans aren't very common around here. :'(Quote:

I completed the game on two player with my younger brother. But then he got fed up with playing final fantasy altogether and I haven't played it 2 player since. But it was pretty fun.:D
I tried it once with a friend of mine. She is just as good as me when it comes to Final Fantasy, but I still felt it was annoying playing with her because I realised that we have two totally different approaches to the gameplay and how to play through the battles. It got a little messed up, and I've never done it since.
I think it's fun to split the 8 characters into 2 groups (fav. 4 for each person) then in an easy battle you control two people and same with the other person. Then you battle each other, then the one who kills the 2 of the other person wins and kills the monster. A harder way is to do it is with a harder monster like a yan so even if you win you might die.:D
my brother and i played 2 player a few times. i think it's awesome! i wish other FFs had 2 player mode
I learded from a Game Informer. It was kinda crappy :irked: you can only play 2 player only in battle. I pefer playing by myself/or/yourself
I beat it once through on my own, but on my second time round I would play 2 player for a bit with friends if they were over.
yea i play 2 player aswell as long as one as my friends are around how want to play it with me :D
:p I never knew it till now as well:rolleyes2 :D am gonna try it out.(probably isn't gonna be much better or spectacular:greenie:, still)
i tend to get into arguments if my bro and i are playing the same game. most of my friends don't even know what Final Fantasy is (except for cousins) but they all live too far from me - so i have to play A L O N E, which i have no problem with until that one MMO....
AFTER MORE THAN 2 DECADES THEN I REALIZED THIS!!??? THERE IS A 2 PLAYERS OPTION!!???
SINCE WHEN?????
HOLD THE GOD DAMN PHONE
yo does anyone wanna play FF9 with me?
YES
If we can find a time when we're both awake
Me & my partner have recently played and completed Diablo III together in 2 player.
I think the best gaming experience I've ever had and likely will ever have was 4 player TMNT Halo: Reach coop with Psy, DK, and... MILF or Steve, I think.
