I advertise all the time. Except I make a few words of my post a link so it won't be noticed by many. I don't think anyone has ever noticed it actually. :( It was only a link to a rival FF forum either way.

I once joined another final fantasy forum that was advertised in a PM because the person who sent it was from France. I forgot when this was, but I do remember I only made one post.

Other than that, I just delete them. I don't really care.

It's asked that you report all PM advertisements so that we can address the issue. Advertising via thread or PM is not permitted on this site, and we like to address the issue whenever possible.

I've had a few advertisements, once or twice before I was knighted and once or twice after. The latter of the two amused me greatly, as I'm sure you might guess.

Of the reported advertisers, we'll sometimes go for weeks on end without one showing up, and other times we'll have several register in rapid succession, still other times will see an intermittent advertising rate. It fluctuates with very little rhyme or reason, really.

I hate it!! I used to do it to but I'd actually be afraid to get on their nerves. I was always careful. I hate these damn people. They're always asking me to join the same forum aswell. Some blootix crap...

Yes, ive had quite a few...

Thing is, I sort of did it, when I told my mate ToD how my new forum was ready, as I asked him if he wanted to be a mod when it was done...I didnt have MSN at the time, and I didnt know that that thing was against the rules...

Anyway, I can see why those spam PM advertising is not allowed, but is what I did the same? I dont see it as wrong...

Loads. And if the PMs sent to me after becoming an admin weren't amusing enough, there's always the PMs I've received via Award Guy and Fwab. I remember one of them distinctly asking I don't tell any staff members. That was great.

I rarely send Pm's anyway. I always worry about what the person thinks when they see my name on top of the pm. I'd hate people to think 'Oh god, not her'.
