Your Five Memorable Moments

I thought I'd make a new thread. Do you have any memorable moments during your stay in EoFF? Like, have you confessed something, or found out that a fellow member has a crush on you, or you've made a new friend on EoFF, and etc. There are countless memories that have been made in EoFF. One could say their newbie days were the best time of their EoFF life, or finally winning that Ciddies for the first time makes your blood pump fast and hard.

However, I'm going to limit you to five memorable moments for each one of you. If you have more than five, tough luck, five is your limit, because not everyone is named Loony BoB who has tons of memorable moments. :D

Anyway, as for me, I have a couple.

1. My first phone call from Loony BoB. Yes, I consider this a memorable moment for me, as it was my first call ever from someone I knew online from a foreign country. Yes, BoB, I'm still planning on writing that biography about you, "Swans and Ants." Or is it "Ants and Swans"?

2. The FF8 Radio Skit with Sita Atis. I consider this a memorable moment as well. Why? Because I was in as Zell in the radio play based on her FF8 in a nutshell writing. :D

3. My over-the-top confession of love to Rinoabella. This is an embarrassing moment for me. I've confessed by thread that I had feelings for Rinoabella. It didn't last long, as soon, she became Chickencha's girlfriend. :p

4. First EoFF Fantasy Football Season. I think it was 2002, when I joined the first fantasy football league. I still have the records for this league. I was the Orange Flamingos and I ended up in.. like 5 or 6th place. Not bad for a start.

5. My Cid's Knight career. It was a good run. I started off in late 2001, when Cid/Sean was still around and posting much. I was also the last CK that he had Knighted. I had fun times as a CK, and I was one of the members' favorite CKs. I had a good time, and during my last Ciddies as a CK, I won Best CK. I then resigned the following year, in April, 2004. Good times, and I sometimes, I miss the Staff Forum, but I don't regret leaving staff. Edit: Also, my last hoorah as CK was closing that MAPS thread.

Hmm, I've only been here for 1½ years, but it's been great. I haven't really had any special moment, except for winning 2 Ciddies in 2005. Oh yeah, the "67% of Americans are Fat" thread. It's fun to watch how people you thought were good people turn on you without flincing. Other than that, it's been a good 18 months run. :)

1, TOTALLY pwning manus

2, The banning of Gunblademaster.

3, There is no number 3.

4, Getting my 1000th usernote.

5, Meat Puppet cybering me in the nostril.

In no paticullar order.

1) Del Murder + Mirel 4eva™

2) The fun times that Bleys, Mik, Misfit, Levie (occassionaly Wyllius) and I used to have in the FFXI forum and in FFXI itself. Oh man, raping dead newbies could never have been so fun. Some of the most fun I've ever had online, I've had with these people.

3) Quina. I can't even go into this one, but seriously, Quina.

4) Hijacking Levie's account, and wrestling with Linus for control.

5) Tie between helping Loony BoB with the whole Care Bears thing and the Gang Wars where obviously, I dominated. Fun times.

There are more memorable moments scattered throughout my time here at EoFF, but meeting Del Murder and goofing off with the gang in FFXI will always trump everything else that I've experienced here at EoFF. I have such incredible fondness for both of those experiences that I doubt anything else that I experience here in the future will ever take the place of #2 and nothing will ever take the place of #1.

1) I don't actually remember it, but 20 friggin' thousand lines on IRC in a month is sorta something to both be ashamed and proud ofxD

2) RSL asking me if I wanted to be a Knight.

3) Baby's first ban.

4) Crossfandom GO! with Foa, and neel, and denmark, and brandon, and kb, and strider, and pssy, hsu, and everyone else who's a part of it now. I might've said We, but kat would kill me for associating her with the forums xD

5) Hsu and I acting out a Tony and Maria thing during the Gangwars.

These have to be EoFF-related? Damn. Lets see...

1) People being dramatic and me laughing.

2) People being pissed at me for laughing at them for being dramatic.

3) Chasing trains with Loony BoB.

4) April Fool's 2005. Me laughing. People being pissed. More laughing. Lucky I haven't been assassinated.

5) Stepping down as admin so people'll be less pissed, and, as a result, liking EoFF much less. Damn.

Those were harder to think of than they look.

I'm not sure what order I'd put these in, but they were all memorable.

1) Banfest 2005--It was just good times all around. A lot of fun being in chat at the time, and it was when I wat Hat'd.

2)First Day in Chat--I don't know why I remember this so well, but it was an awesome day. I joined the forum and decided to check out the chatroom for one reason or another. I downloaded mIRC because everybody said the Java client was bad, and I've been pretty much a regular since then, and that was September of 2004. Jebus, Kirobaito, SomethingBig, and Giga Guess were all there, and I'm sure there were others who I'm forgetting. It was a new and great experience. There have been great days since then, and I've made most of my online friends through #eoff, but that first day sticks in my mind.

3)Truth or Truth--Sometimes it's dull, but sometimes it's an absolute blast, and a great way to really get to know people. Especially the all-staff #tot just a few days ago. Good times.

4)Last year's elections. Those were a ton of fun.

5)Getting to know Doomie, Psy, and kikimm, and having some really awesome chats, as well as planning for a meet-up of sorts this summer...as well as some off-the-forum activities. <3 you guys

Of course, I'm sure I forgot something that deserved being included, but oh well.

In a random order.

1) The formation of BAoTW and the people I've met because of it. Love you guys! :love:

2) Winning Mr EoFF in 2003. I was just some random regular then, who most people knew but I wasn't exactly popular then or anything. To me, to defeat BoB, of all people, in the final, was really something.

3) Elections. Both that I have participated in were awesome, and I still enjoy whining about how we beat the winning party in terms of votes both times.

4) Ciddies. Specifically two. June 2004 when I won my first, "Most Likely to be the Leader of an EoFF Underground" by one vote over Citizen Bleys, and in December 2004 when I won "Best Male", which was something I'd always wanted to win.

5) User Notes. The greatest thing in the history of...notes. Yeah.

Wot, no MAPS? :p

1) Joining.

2) Getting my first usernote.

3) Calling for a carpet bombing on the Judges HQ.

2) The first time ed and I posted a Polo Ponys song.

3) The episode where ed and I got mad at eachother, and I drew a chalkline between the forums. He had to stay a the left side of the forum, while I had the right. Hilarious results happened for about a half an hour.

4) When I made some half-assed cover of the main theme from Chrono Trigger on an accoustic guitar, and people actually liked it.

5) When I uncovered the info on the secret FFX character, Belto Maxson.

oh my god. we did have much fun, didn't we? :D Damn, I wished those bastards never have shut my account down. I liked how we were the only sane ones when we were fighting in Valkurm. xD Everyone else was just crazy and very unreliable. <3

2. "joining" baotw. I don't ever joined it, I just gradually became a part of it. But there's really no baotw now. Just a group of friends hanging out. I've met lots of awesome people this way. :cool:

4. FFXI: Miriel, Misfit and Mik. Too bad I never got to play with Bleys.

Holy smurf buckets...where do I start?

1) The first anniversary where things got out of control to the point of 30 posts(it is like a double post...but there are 30 of them) and a hot 60 post three way sex thing!

2) That time I almost got banned

3) When Sephex and I purposely spread propaganda in some FFVII thread that somehow turned into a debate of WHAT THE FREAKING MATERIAL OF VINCENT'S COFFIN was made out of. One of us reported ourselves by PMing Kishi. The thread was closed.

4) Posting all the NIN lyrics in a single post thus killing the thread. It came out to be something like a 64 page post.

5) That time I flamed the out of these stupid teens who were having some retarded relationship fight. Everyone was all like 'How could you say that ed?' until they realized I was right and then everyone was all like '*flame**flame**flame**flame**flame**flame**flame*' It was cool.

1. Both the meetups (i can have both B) ) and meeting all the coolest people ever :) and making some good friends (HAHAHAHAH PSY, MIKES COMING TO STAY WITH MEEE!) and beating psy at tekken twice :P

2. The elections last year, being a newbie and making my own party B) IT CAN HAPPEN YOU N00BS IF YOU BELIEVE! and coming 4th or something. pink and fluffy party forever B)

3. Going into chat for the first time and being told to piss off xD so mean. But i stayed and became loved by all! xD

4. Coming so close to getting a ciddie in the last 2 ciddies. First best Regular, 3 votes off to Iri, and then horniest member *shakes fist at Ansem*

5. The Banfest and witnessing it from #eoff. twas a good giggleing thinking of all the new BoB based names :D

Also, you know very well that with Tekken, you beat me in the first game, but I always beat you in the second once I get warmed up. :cool:

Britt was at the time one of my closest friends and I miss him to this day, so having him do the Knighting made it that extra bit special. Also the fact that, as Britt already knew that I would be a Knight if I was asked to be one on a previous occasion, they didn't have to ask me so it was actually a full-on surprise... I think that only added to the moment. It was just freaking awesome.
4) The Ciddies. I don't know if I can really pick out one of the Ciddies I've ran... I always get overexcited every time they're on and I simply adore organising them and watching everything happen. I may already know the winners before they're announced, but I assure you, I get really, really worked up as I reveal the big awards. Last time I think I had Eye of the Tiger playing non-stop as I did the Best Member revelation (which I as always dragged out so it had to be played on repeat), and the whole atmosphere surrounding it all, the excitement of those watching and the reactions... it all just really boils up at that point. I should probably mention that winning any Ciddie always makes me feel very honoured, every time. It humbles me a lot.

Hmm....

1. EzBoard. Just the entire...5, 6 month period of the original EzBoard, where it was me, Cid, Bleys, BOU, Dan, RSL, Tyler, Jojo, skanker and later Britt, Elyse, krissy and other people. The "Scan your hand!" and "scan your frisbee!" threads. The Cid vs. Dan Wars where Cid won and Dan was renamed to Peon Walkie. Bleys joining and making a separate thread for each of his skydiving stories, which resulted in everyone but Cid (who liked the stories) wanting to close all the threads and ban Bleys (then Bastard Son) for spamming crap (not really, but we did want to close the threads and warn Bleys). The staff forum being boring as sin (this was before the porn subforum). When the website first went up (on a free host xD). When EoFF became the largest FF-related EzBoard over the much older FF:ID and I made the thread about it.

2. Old ICQ conversations. This was mostly during the EzBoard era, but deserves its own mentioning. These were with BOU (where the Waiter Wars started), Jojo, Britt, Elyse, Usa, Matt (Heero Yuy in Sick Irony), and some others. This was way back when everyone had ICQ. We had mock fights over ICQ, and we all tried to kill Jojo to stop her yoop speak.

3. Me and Bleys and our army taking over Jojo's EzBoard.

4. The Bleys vs. Unne wars. Pretty much just everything to do with Unne. Unne's religion threads which he made once every other month where we tried (unsuccessfully, for the most part) to convert people to common sense. The 1001 reasons to hate Dr Unne thread or whatever it was called which Snizz and I spammed to hell. All of us, including Cid, bugging Unne to post his picture and Unne flatly refusing...over and over (he gave in months later). The contest to draw Brian Carper. The petition to make Unne sing. Good times, good times.

5. tGA. 6 years ago with Cid, Dan, BOU, Krelian (yes, that one), Elyse, Jojo, krissy, etc. 2-4 years ago with Bleys, HOOTERs, BoB, Lynx and other new members, most of which are still around sometimes.

Honorable mentions: My original long absences and returning to make more DragonLance threads in Lounge (or whatever it was called then) and to make fun of Britt for wearing skirts (which never got old, btw). Yahoo Pool with krissy, Jojo, etc. Heaven's Well. Small Cave and all the ASCs. Aiyon (which died when I left and so BoB has never forgiven me).

Interesting, but I was asking specifically for EoFF-related moments.

1. Being Banned/Tanked like 3 or four times.
2. Winning three ciddies in my first one
3. ToD being Banned
4. GunbladeMaster being banned (although his "I Hate Primus Inter Pares" account was the best ever, but was renamed afterwards :()
5. Dan's leg humping.

#4 Laughing at Shoden and Newcastle with Psy over MSN, and how I vowed never to post in that thread without insulting Newcastle. Especially Boumsong...who smells.

#3 That time on MSN with Faris and Psy. Psy said he was making cookies with Faris' mom. I replied by saying "And by cookies, he means babies". I don't know whay that's here, but I remember it.

#2 Talking about Russell Peters with Neel in #eoff/Everything else in #eoff/Those riddle threads BoB and I made/A couple of other threads here on the forums that I can't remember.

4. Getting two of my best friends to join.

Good times.

1. October 24, 2000, when I first accessed the Staff Forum and was greeted with a thread full of staffers asking Cid what the hell I was doing with a Cid's Knight rank. 5. Winning the Screen Name Tournament. It wasn't exactly the victory I had dreamed off (what with such a pitiful amount of votes) but I was pretty happy to have knocked off some names which I really thought had me beat. And yes, although I shamelessly self voted my way right through I am still proud to have won SOMETHING here.

4. Joining and being a little nublet. I remember me and Psy joined about the same time and we were newbie together. Man have times changed. He's a not a CK and I'm ... some dude obsessed with the colour purple. xD (Now my sentence doesn't make sense)

3. The Gender swap name-change thing we did a few years back. This was back in the days when I was still called Al Bhed³. My name was changed into Alyssa Bhedine if I'm not mistaken. I was pretty green then so I was in hysterics the whole time. Not to mention that I made a really awesome girl.

2. Changing my name the two times I've been here. The first change from Al Bhed³ to Mo-Nercy³ was pretty big. It marked the end of my Final Fantasy fanaticism and the beginning of my TRUE experience of the EoFF world (I found General Chat!). The second name change wasn't so big an occasion for me, but it was BoB's FIRST EVER name change (newly acquired Administrator title). I remember Del saying right in the middle of the Screen Name tourny that my name would be better without the "stupid cubed". I won the tournament and then heeded his sagely advice. And thus I exist today in my current form.

1. Staying up all night (well almost all night) to watch the last Ciddies was a very liberating experience. I couldn't do it before because of the pressures of school and the amount of study and homework I had on me. I simply couldn't throw in a non-study all-nighter because exams seemed to come around every time the Ciddies did. But for these last Ciddies, I was free; Exams done, results received (91.35) and the only thing I had planned for the next day was SLEEEEEP. Honest to God, that all-nighter was actually more refreshing than tiring.

1. Clicking the link in Shadowdust's sig and finding my online "home", FFI, Squally's board.
2. Talking to Towns and thinking he was some 16 year old surfer kid from California. lawl.
3. Random taking the piss out of James and having Nicky become obsessed with tea and crumpets and the queen for a while

Wow I've been here for 2 days and I've already been remembered.

In more or less chronological order:

1. How Della Got His Groove Back - some fun with my boy Darth Hermit. Prelude to the Spam Brigade.

2. a vey odd poem by auron - not a single event, but that thread beautifully captures an era of my life that will never be forgotten.

3. Winning the first ever Eyeson fantasy football and baseball leagues - and my ensuing dominance in those leagues. Fantasy sports is so much fun!

4. Becoming a Cid's Knight - and all those weekends spent checking up on the gaming forums. I don't do that anymore now, but it was nice to see a different side of the boards, and be looked up to as someone who kept things in order there.

5. hannah - the pms, ims, emails, calls, meeting her in LA, having her here with me, everything. The most special thing I have ever found I found here.

We had mock fights over ICQ, and we all tried to kill Jojo to stop her yoop speak.

3. Me and Bleys and our army taking over Jojo's EzBoard.

4. The Bleys vs. Unne wars. Pretty much just everything to do with Unne. Unne's religion threads which he made once every other month where we tried (unsuccessfully, for the most part) to convert people to common sense. The 1001 reasons to hate Dr Unne thread or whatever it was called which Snizz and I spammed to hell. All of us, including Cid, bugging Unne to post his picture and Unne flatly refusing...over and over (he gave in months later). The contest to draw Brian Carper. The petition to make Unne sing. Good times, good times.

5. tGA. 6 years ago with Cid, Dan, BOU, Krelian (yes, that one), Elyse, Jojo, krissy, etc. 2-4 years ago with Bleys, HOOTERs, BoB, Lynx and other new members, most of which are still around sometimes.

Honorable mentions: My original long absences and returning to make more DragonLance threads in Lounge (or whatever it was called then) and to make fun of Britt for wearing skirts (which never got old, btw). Yahoo Pool with krissy, Jojo, etc. Heaven's Well. Small Cave and all the ASCs. Aiyon (which died when I left and so BoB has never forgiven me).

Of course it was EoFF! My whole army was EoFF people. Some of your forces that I battled against weren't (Such as WasThatWrong?, who held me back from the Spam forum for most of the day in our epic battle - it was glorious!), but that's because your board sucked.

Hm...This'll be hard.

1. The first night I came into #eoff. I've never met such an awesome bunch, everyone was wonderful and extremely nice to me. I've been to many chatrooms and right away at #eoff I felt very welcomed. The first people I talked with in there was Jebus, Kirobaito, Necronopticous, Aexoden and some others I don't remember right now. But right away on that first day I bonded with a lot of them.

2. My first phone call, which was with Roogle and CloudDragon, then later CD and I became great friends, one of my most favoritest people on EoFF. Getting to know him (and continuing to getting to know him) was a blast.

3. Talking to Jebus and the conversations we have. I don't think I can really describe the conversations we have, but they're amazing. Never a dull moment. I absolutely adore him.

4. Vyk. I don't think I can survive a day without talking to him. It's pretty much a necessity now. x.x Our phone conversations are fun and the card I got from him in the mail on my b-day. He makes me feel special :D Oh and running away from the gangs and into safety, it was rather interesting. And yeah...I talk about him too much, so I'm going to stop. :p

5. Planning CST2006, it's gonna be a blast, I get to see everyone I love.

6. Getting nominated for Sexiest Female. Big shock to me. Sadly I lost horribly xD But I didn't care, I was emotionally overwhelmed by the introducing sexiest female post.

7. Banfest. Necro got me, eeep. o.x I think it was the first EoFF activity I was included in. It made me happy to know that I'm apart of this great great community. And I've been on the Internet since I was 12, I don't think I've felt more at home.

The randomness in which people ask me about my sigs @_@ Does anyone else get this? I get PMs, off-topic posts in threads, someone even made a thread once just to ask me about one I made. I'm not letting it go to my head or anything. Its really nice that so many people have the same taste or appreciation towards the things I like to make into sigs. I'm sure I can make a nice sig from scratch, but most of the time I just crop and pretty up a ready-made pic. Like what I have now. I google image searched bishoujo and somehow this came up. Its from someone's blog. It was in french I think. They had a ton of pretty pics dispersed throughout.

The Yahoo! voice chats are really interesting. You always create an image in your head of what people look like you've never seen. Based upon their personality, and choices in avatars or sigs and such. You sorta do the same thing with their voices. We have the album to squash any ill-conceived notions about people's looks. But there's no official voice archive of EoFF members. The Yahoo! chats are surprising and highly entertaining.

Last, but probably most importantly, I think just joining the community was a memorable and well made choice in my life. I'm a loner by nature, but there's a family here, and it's good to be a part of it. From the forums, to the more interactive chats, to the be-all end-all meet-ups I hope to soon be apart of. This community has almost all its bases covered for member interaction. Very well organized and run. And just a bunch of really swell people, on staff and off. Hearts to you all. If I hadn't joined I would have never made friends with awesome people like Reles, Tama, Jebus and all; and rubah would have never heard my deep dark secrets; and tons of other member-oriented good stuffs *Footsie with everyone*

Five memorable moments, eh?

1. Going into chat for the first time. I can't really remember the first time I was in there. Although, I do specifically remember rubah. xD I am really happy I went into the chatroom though. Met most of my friends through there. The one thing that sticks in my mind from the first few days of being there, is Emma and I singing Spongebob Squarepants songs. I'll never forget that. ^-^

2. The Scottish Meet-Ups. Well, they might not have been huge, but still a lot of fun. I look forward to more of them. I hope I can meet all my friends from here some day. Once we all escape the wrath of overprotective parents, of course!

3. Phone Calls. :D My first phone call was from Lenna, but it was more of a silence for an hour and a half, so I'll go to my second phonecall. smittenkitten. We were on the phone for like... 5 minutes. Best phone call ever. xD Then there was the phonecall from LMA. That was... interesting and fun. :D

4. The Ciddies. Winning Best Newbie, and then getting 6th place in Best Member? I felt great. :cool:

5. Voice Chat. I enjoy these so much. :D Especially when BoB or Ashley are there. I want there to be more of them.

In no particular order.

1. Joining. I remember first coming here, I told myself not to be shy and PM people to meet new people. Because of that I have made some really good friends. If I did not have the courage to PM thtem I would have not met them.

2. Elections 2005. I was still a newb at the time. I joined the newly formed Fluffy Pink PArty that boris made. It was fun, I met some more cool people and plus I had fun posting and trying out for it. Adding to that was the last Ciddies where me and Xehanort talmost won cutest couple!

3. Meeting Ansem/Lord Xehanort. If I were to put this order, this would have to be number one. There is not much I can say besides that he is an amazing guy, who has given me more than most people have ever thought of giving. He makes me complete. Actually words do not do justice to how I feel about him.

4. Phone conversations with Yazoo'sQueen, Faris and Tasura. I had an awesome time talking to all of you guys. Hopefully I will talk to them more in the future and some other members too.

5. #eoff, though I have only been going here now, there are some cool people there.

Hmmm, I don't know if I could think of five really memorable moments. I just don't reminisce about the past that often.

This isn't in any special order or anything.

1. Becoming an admin. Even though I wasn't really qualified, it is something that I wanted for whatever reason.

2. Various ciddies that I have won. I always get a kick out of winning a ciddie, even if it is for one that makes no sense (sexiest male?)

3. EoFF fantasy football. I can't explain how much fun I have with this (even though the other members involved can tell you that I do get a bit worked up about it at times.) I'm not really very good at it, but I do enjoy being involved.

4. #eoff. I never imagined that I would spend over a year going into #eoff somewhat regularly. I've met a lot of great people in there.

5. Hmmm, I'm stumped.

5. Even though I can't remember this particular moment too well, I have this very fond feeling associated with #eoff in 2001-2002. I believe it involved Jojo, Kishi, and Daryl. Oh, this is easy now. Jojo and Kishi and Daryl (or some combination of any of the three, but definitely Jojo) kept bugging me to use my real first name in chat, and I was pretty green and unwilling to disclose any real info about myself. Finally I typed "/nick Neel" and they've remembered it since (except Daryl, I have no idea if she remembers me). In retrospect, "princeofdarknez" was a pretty dumb name, especially in IRC. It just cluttered up the window.

I'm going to cheat and throw in my nick change to -N- here too - since it's the same theme. It was like a new start for me in the best of ways - those who knew me still knew me, and a ton of other people noticed me then too, and I got to know them in return. Kishi always seems to work himself in my memories of this place. :p And who would have thought Jojo would be in my top five memories? xD

4. Meeting Necronopticous (in my cell as Jermeh) and DMKA (in my cell as Nemeses). Late night Denny's runs in particular. If it wasn't for Necro, I would not be obsessing over Shadow of the Colossus right now, I would not have Front Mission 4 to calm my frayed nerves during my toughest semester, I would not have heard of Antony and the Johnstons or NOBODY or Chris Cunningham or a ton of other great music. I didn't get to meet DMKA as much, but Whittier was fun - and it was so hilarious when they both stopped by my place and I was in my pajamas and DMKA was worshipping my spamming. It felt so weird to actually speak about something online, but so worth it. :D

3. Working on the Questionnaire. Thanks Samuraid for complimenting my code! I always wanted to give back to the boards somehow, and this was the perfect way to give back to the community as well as individual members by recognizing them in my little work. "f. eestlinc" was such a divine inspiration - I sat for hours racking my brain about how to fit in eestlinc. I'm so glad I got to do something about Maxico and Sephiroth1999AD too. All because we chatted on AIM in 2001 about how he was escorting some woman with her groceries and she asked eest what he was doing and he said "Music major" and she pissed him off about how he would actually earn money. I can't believe I remember that.

2. The Gang in summers 2004 and 2005. Countless great memories. KB, Jebus, Face, Mo, foa, Bert, and then rubah, Azar, Sepho. Doing the Eizon thing together, doing #trivia together, Wiki-spamming together, the soap opera, #tot together, man the list goes on. Drunken phone conversation with Chickencha goes here too. :p I suppose everything #eoff goes here too, but I'm trying to keep this to moments here. I'll choose forming The Gang then. Token Minority! :D

1. Coming back to EoFF in '04 after being dormant/inactive for a longass time (wow... memories are really flooding back now), posting rather quietly in this FFVII discussion, and having Kishi welcome me back. What a good feeling that was. #1 forever. Thanks Kishi. <3

These are ordered chronologically; the first one is from my first day here, and the fifth one happened recently.

1. Registering and entering EoFF IRC for the first time. I was first greeted by shadow_bahamut, and then smittenkitten, I think. I'm sure they were the only ones willing to say hello in IRC at first, but everyone was nice in my introduction thread.
