That guy in Timber that give you free potion if Quistis or Rinoa is in your party. He deserve a bigger role than that. :mad2:

quistis. she nevers seems to do anything useful with the storyline and just doesnt have a good enough personality.

Change main character to - Master Fisherman in FH and introduce FISHIN' MINIGAMES, BOOYAH! :D
Squall, definately Squall. Then Zell. And Quistis and Rinoa. Main character should have been Selphie, and she has this totally awesome lesbian girlfriend. Would have been ground breaking. Irvine could be in there, too, he comes in from time to time and starts turning Selphie straight, which brings up some really enthralling storylines! Then you get to choose over Irvine and your gay lover. Oh and that dog could be in there, too. That dog was pretty kick ass.

And I thought Quistis was excellent though they could have spent a lot more time on her. She had a lot of emotion which she sometimes tried to hide because she wanted to act the part she believed she should be, and sometimes showed to Squall in an interesting round about way.
I disliked Seifer. The game wouldnt have changed too much without him.

...um..that was a joke. I had many pleasent dreams about shoving Ultemecia's head into a wood chipper. Followed by Seifer, Fujin, Selphie, Rinoa, Irvine, and Zell. I didnt like pretty much any playable character in thay game besides Squall and Laguna
I don't think Irvine should've been in it because I generally don't like him.
Well then that's pretty much all the characters. Agreed, pretty much all the characters show be removed and re-done.
Yeah, you could seriously take out Ultimecia, and it wouldn't do all that much. She was barely in the game at all.
The more I think about it, the more I agree with Hsu.
Laguna, Kiros, Ward, Ellone, the gay past
These four dumb characters always interrupt my main gameplay. Squall shouldn't be thinking about his past, it's nice to hear Squall say: "I dreamt I was a dumbass moron"

I don't know why Quistis is getting dissed.
A. Let's face it. She is the hottest girl in FF8.

Zell, however, should be removed because of his stupidity.
this is another reason i dislike quistis. the only reason people like her is for reasons above posted by "lulus moogle." and they are unimportant. its her personality and attitude which matters and compared to the other characters personalitys hers sort of sucks and is annoying.
I think the only character I would remove is Quistis, but only because I find her annoying personally. The story would really suffer without her, and she would definately need a replacement character if removed.

Quistis is the smartest, without her everyone would be running around not knowing what to do like headless chicken wusses

After the first half of disc one, quistis can be removed. You probabley wouldn't even notice she was gone. I don't have anything against her, just she's so boring and unimportant

I'd have to say Fujin. She completely irritated me with those one word phrases. Maybe if they gave her more of a personality, she would've been a better character.
Ah yeah, she was annoying as all hell. Just because she didn't act like a real person, and that bothers me. Yes, the setting is "fantastical" but if they characters aren't grounded, or believable...:(

I think Square Enix should have dropped the love story because it was fricking lame.The love story in Star Wars Episode II was more entertaining and interesting than the love story that Square Enix came up with.I mean how the hell does Squall fall in love with Rinoa?The reason why I'm asking this question is because Squall didn't have any feelings for Rinoa in the beginning.In fact he was annoyed when he had to drop everything to rescue her not once but twice I don't understand it.I wouldn't fall in love with somebody if that person was annoying me.:confused:
He wasnt necessarily annoyed with Rinoa, and the love story between Star Wars ep. I, II, & III are slightly similar to this situation. In the beginning one wasn't really in love with the other, but as they bonded and spent time together and went through many things with eachother they began to love eachother. Like Padme comes out of no where and said shes been falling in love with Anakin, but Anakin loved her the moment he set eyes on her..hence he said "are you an angel?" and all that cute stuff. *Star Wars & Final Fantasy fan, here..*Quote:

I think the love story in Final Fantasy VIII is more similar to the love story in Star Wars Episodes IV,V,and VI.The reason why saying this is because Rinoa has feelings for both Seifer and Squall.In the mission where SeeD attempted to assasinate Edea Squall told Rinoa that he saw Seifer in the parade and he would have to kill him if he jeopardized the mission.Rinoa told Squall that she is acknowledging the fact that he is mentally prepared to kill Seifer but she would rather not see it happen.Quote:

Yep. And the ONLY reason I knew this by playing the game was by poking around in some sort of in-game encyclopedia on Julia Heartily. The last name was a big give-away, plus something like, "She married a Galbladian general, had a baby daughter, then died in a car crash." I've never seen any diolauge reference to the relation. Another character that should have been removed from the game is Ultimecia.She isn't a very good villain if you ask me in fact next to Count Dooku she is probaby the worst villian ever.I know Count Dooku isn't in the Final Fantasy series but he is still a pathetic villian.The reason why I think Ultimecia is pathetic is because how cowardly she is she doesn't show up until you get near the end of the fricking game.Oh and the fact that some random whitch who can cast magic isn't very intimidating.As for Count Dooku I don't think old men are intimidating either.
