I personally prefer those "Harvest Festival" that is held in some countries where you celebrate those that you worked for most of the year.
EDIT: Songkran Festival in Thailand (water festival) is pretty fun too.

New Year's Day: Alcohol
Valentine's Day: Sex
Easter: Candy
Halloween: Candy again
Christmas: Presents

I see many of people around here prefer those majority based ones instead of something special like this one.
I like the little quirky festivals. Malaysia's very cosmopolitan, so we get both the world-wide festivals as well as little asian ones. I LIKE THEM! Because festivals = school holidays.

Majority holidays get you a day off with pay ftw.
