I was wondering if anyone here uses cheats to beat a game?
I don't because I think it's a really low way to finish a game.

I never use cheats on a first go. I might use them once I beat the game, to mess around. Cheats which you unlock are the best.
I totally agree. I never use cheats when completing a game. In fact - I never use cheats ever.
(perhaps with the exception of when I'm messing around on GTA, doing the riot cheat :D)

I do alot on GTA, but only because I want to mess around.
On games that I havent beaten, I dont. If I find a game too hard, I'd rather go down to a lower difficulty than resort to cheating. I do on occasions cheat after Ive beaten the game, but that also is just to mess around.
I also never save the game after cheating, and I don't do any missions while cheats are activated.Quote:

Ok well I guess it's ok to use cheats on GTA as long as it's not helping you do in game missions.
Only after I've already beaten a game the hard way.
I do!!!

I use cheats alot especially if the boss i've been trying to beat has killed me over 15 times each day in a week :D
But i used cheats once on FFX-2 and it messed up my game and i was so close to beating it and it froze.
Guess that teaches me not to cheat again :D xD
most of the games I play don't have usable cheats unless you use a gameshark or something....
THE JACKEL
Some games I do cheat on. I do on San Andreas because I basically suck at hard games and sometimes i need all the help I can get.
Is that a Joke ?Quote:

I do.
How can it ever be not ok to cheat? (unless its not a multiplayer game) I mean, the point of games is to have fun, so if you have more fun cheating, go for it.Quote:

i wouldn't cheat until after i've beaten a game.
Cheating to screw around is fun and awesome. Some say it's cheating to trade a lv. 100 Mewtwo to a new file, but I say nay. I trained him in one game and he won't actually obey until later and besides if it wasn't the same game and I wasn't playing through to just get only one thing. Does anyone count Sequence Breaking in Metroid as cheating? I only do that for speed runs, though. Me and my friend cheat together in San Andreas multiplayer. Throwing tanks at each other is fun. I don't care who you are.
I only use cheats once I have completed a game, as I can then extend the length of the game by replaying it which some things modified. Admittedly, I USED to cheat when I was really stuck on a game, but a hard game is a good game (in many cases). :)
Screwing around with cheats rocks. I rarely use them to beat the game.
My brother, on the other hand...
Excepting Warcraft III, which I tore through with Cheats so I'd be up to speed on the story afore WoW.Quote:

I use codes after beating the game or if I'm completely stuck
Something like Sims free play, when there's no real point, sure. Other than that.....meh.
I don't play GTA, so no.
depends what you call a cheat... I occasionally throw phoenix downs on undead enemies resulting in an instant kill... i also exploit the w-item trick... thats about it...
I mean I play games for challenge, since mostly I play games that you get an adrenaline rush from I keep the cheats out. I mean what fun is it to be able to kill 400 ninja zombie demons with a single punch?
I only cheat on San Andreas, it is so fun just to walk around all the time and not get hurt or cops after you :) :D
I'll cheat every once in a while, but not in an online game. I think of it this way -- I bought the disk and I can play with it any way I like.
I use cheats on my first time through and to mess around then beat the game without.
Yes, I cheat on games and girlfriends. I mainly play RPG's and play them for their storylines/characterizations. I have a full-time job, school, and a general life, so it would be quite difficult to manage playing 30-40 hour long RPG's without cheating. For me, it is a necessity.
*huggles Codebreaker disc*
By the way, with the Playstation 2's USB ports and a flash drive, cheating is simply a breeze.
*hugs Codebreaker disc, PLaystation 2's USB ports, and 256MB flash drive*
I usually use cheats AFTER I've beaten the games 3 or 4 times.

I generally won't cheat but I will look up a faq if I can't figure out a puzzle myself within the first few attempts to do whatever. I don't have time to sit around and try to solve some complex puzzle, if I'm playing a game I'm playing it for entertainment, not to sit around and waste my life trying to solve some game designer's attempt to drive me insane.
I have no respect for the people that use cheats on GTA.:mad2: The only time I will ever use a cheat is after I beat a game, I will usually try to exploit glitches. Other than that, I'v only used a cheat disk on FFX for like 10 minutes.
