Ok, when fighting Jecht, the Aeons, and Yu Yevon himself, there are these Yu Pagodas. But, what do they do, besides heal Yu Yevon? Do they have some sort of significance or symbolism?
Just wondering

I don't think they serve a purpose...
There probably is, I dunno.
They rotate.
Although, if memory serves, the rotating sections line up right before the end of the battle.
Yeah, I know. They encase Yu Yevon, and vaporize. But that really doesn't mean anything. I just want to know of they symbolize anything. :(
I think they help, eg heal and stuff, the enemy during the fights, but my fights have never lasted long enough to see this actually happen...
Pagodas are religious structures that contain shrines or memorials. Maybe they memorialize Yevon's memories of Zanarkand?
Maybe they represent that Yu Yevon is as a God?
That's probably most likely. Maybe Future Esthar could make a theory about this.Quote:

This is off topic but I just remembered that in FFVII you fight Goda at the top of a Pagoda. I never noticed a (tenuous) connection until now.
I believe that they're just Yevon's energy source, that's why they're healing him all the time!
They can only heal Yu-Yevon if both of them are "alive" if one of them in incapasatated then the other will attack you
They symbolize extreme anoyance.
Don't they cast Reflect and stuff?
i think they help yevon heal for 9999... my tidus n auron didn't have dmg break, so they could only do 9999 dmg until i was like 1/2 way thru i figured out to use magic break... XD yuna did a consistent 30-40k dmg with her holy
i think the yu pagodas are probbably old yevon symbols and statues and these ones have been reanimated to serve yu yevon or somethin like that. also call911quick, your sig is far too big so the mods will probly delete it if you dont make it smaller.
The Yu Pagodas are there for practical reasons. During the Aeon fights (including Braska's FA), they dispel all status ailments, and heal for about 3000 HP (1500 each), AND they increase the Overdrives of the Aeons. Fortunately for you, none of the Aeons can break 9999, and even if you die, it's instant Auto-Life.
The Yu Pagodas themselves are more of an Enigma. They could be statues and reanimated, as other people have said. Also in the cutscene after Yu Yevon's defeat, they seal themselves and Yu Yevon away from the final encounter. They could be the guardians of an alternate dimension, but nothing more is said on the matter in the game, even if anyone knew of the existence of the Pagodas.
They also fill the overdrive bar fairly quickly (for Jecht they only had to charge him like 3 times before his bar became full).Quote:
