Artist's Gallery

I think it'd look better if the Artist's Gallery were a subforum under the existing Art forum.

It just looks so out of place right now.

I agree. It bugs me to see it there, but it'd be nice to have a nice link somewhere to get to it easily that's noticable. Though I believe it's only temporarily going to be there.

I won't be moving it until it gets enough people noticing it first. Making a decision to subforum it after just one day would be awful. Give it a couple of weeks at least (I'd personaly prefer a month) so we can start up a discussion on how it would be best to proceed with both gallery & forum. The whole idea is to get as many people to notice it as possible - not just people who already regularly go to the Art forum.

People are always so quick to come to conclusions on their thoughts about vB features these days. :smash:

So long as it stands out. There aren't any specific goals with this, but I have my own thoughts, such as whether people will prefer the gallery to the forum or vice versa, how big an impact the gallery will have on forum activity and the threads created in there vs. the pictures posted into the gallery, the amount of new people getting involved in the art forum, the thoughts of the artists and the thoughts of the browsers, etc.

Soon enough all this will be directly linked to on each of the gaming sections of the frontsite as well as the front page itself, which should have some kind of effect too.

But there will definitely be some kind of major thread taking place to debate how we should go about things (most likely to be made here or in the art forum) after I'm happy that it's been long enough to really get into making a decision. Once you guys are a bit more used to the change then you'll probably be able to give much better thoughts on the issue. I didn't expect too many people to like how it is right now, especially with the forum membership's general reluctance for change.

But like I said, give yourelves time to think it over and get used to how it is, then we'll really have a big discussion, hopefully with a lot more people than just the regular Feedback crew.

I will be different and say it looks fine. Subforums are ew.

Leave it for now, as that would defeat the whole point of me making it a subforum for reasons I've already stated in this thread. Well, you could make it a link up there in addition to what's already there, if you want. But if we do that then I'd like to make it just one "Community" drop down menu, similar to Quick Links, which would then have the Map, Album, Chat, Stats and Wiki. It's getting cluttered up there :)

Drop down menu might be harder, that would take some investigating to see if it's possible or not, due to the way vB handles it's own menus already there :p

We could always get rid of the log out option. It doesn't work anyways.

But that's my favourite tool. :sad:

I thought I fixed logout, unless it broke in the last upgrade :p

So it does work again.
