Had to fix the title, it was seriously bugging me.
Anyway, I enjoy the series, but Samurai X is infinitely better. Some of the stuff they do gets kind of rediculous, and the manga is a lot better than the anime.
Yeah, Rurouni Kenshin is great! Samurai X is great too.
I greatly prefer the original art style in RK though.
I don't think Samurai X was very true to the original, but I guess it happens. (It's an OVA.) I'm happy the manga is finally fully serialized in US :cat: (I still need a few more volumes...)
Loved Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai X not so much, battle scenes werent fluid to me, and I agree with Samuraid about the art style.
I havent seen samurai x i want so its good right
I have a tattoo of Kenshin which I will post a picture of eventually.
I much prefer Samuri X because it is more serious over silly.
I prefer RK. It's one of my favorite shows. Samurai X was alright.
Rurouni Kenshin was awesome!
I wish it were still on though ;_;
Samurai X > Kenshin Manga > Kenshin Anime
All good though.
I liked Rurouni Kenshin a lot, but it's not on any channels that I know of anymore. :(
I KNOW I MISS IT BUT I HAVE THE MANGA
I cant bother to try and collect them all, they're too many.Quote:

I thought a lot of the fights were way overdone in Rurouni Kenshin. The fights in Samurai X were quick, brutal, and realistic, and I appreciated that fact.
this is fer anyone who has seen samurai X here is my question is saito in it cause i love saito and and i just love him 0_0 i wanna know (saito saito saito saito....................)
I love it. I think Misao's great.
I completely agree with Behold the Void. Except that I don't even like Rurouni Kenshin at all. Samurai X was amazing stuff, and I liked the art better in that one too. :)
I've got the whole series, but it's really not very good. One fight between Kenshin and Saito was extremely well done--it was at the beginning of the second arc, I think. And the Shishio battle was entertaining, but still not exactly fantastic. Samurai X is in a whole 'nother league.
yep i love it, but the mangas way better
I am a major fan of the series, infact this is one of the few anime series that I own everything of.
I will work on getting the manga set eventually, aka when I get a job.
isnt samurai x a movie?
Yeah, but it is also the name of the OVAs.
I thought you like Gohan?
Rurouni Kenshin is awesome! I just downloaded Samurai X into limewire and I'm gonna see it later.
I love Rurouni Kenshin, great series, had all the elements that I love to see within a anime.
yup schala_kidd_zeal said it all it rules all anime
RK is pretty cool..need more sword techniques...And how about Samurai Champloo??EHH?
Eh? I'd say the series is full of physics-defying martial arts moves, especially in the Shishio storyline. :cat:
The manga piqued my interest, but I'm too poor to buy all of it. ;__;
Saito is in Samurai X, yes.
And when I say Samurai X is good, I mean the OVA, not the movie. The movie was... sub-par.

Ive got the boxset, it was on sale in HMV. Never watched it before and my boyfriend loves it. He has some of the videos still. Never read the manga, I may give it a try.
YAY saito's in it now i HAVE to see it i love Hajime Saito sooooo hot so is everyone else THANKYOU Nobuhiro Watsuki for makeing this manga
Samurai X has an entirely different feel than Rurouni Kenshin. It's realistic, it's brutal, and the artwork is gorgeous. If it didn't have some of the Rurouni Kenshin characters, it would be another series entirely.
I realy enjoyed watching the anime but have never read the manga.
Question: The main bad guy was Oda Nobunaga right?
No. :cat: Where'd you hear that? Or you just remembered incorrectly, happens :p
*scratches head* Yeah its been a while.Quote:

You should get the manga. The entire third (and most important-that-explains-everything) storyline was taken out of the anime, because the anime ran into the manga,as it happens sometimes. It was made into Samurai X, but SX is alot more serious and doesn't have the same feel as the original. (Since, after all, isn't made by the same people:p) The third part of the anime, although pretty fun, is filler made by the anime production team, and not based on the manga. It's still okay however. You just miss out on alot of explanatory stuff. :cat:
So...get the manga.
Edit: You can watch the anime on YouTube, if you're patient enough :p
YAY battousi the man slayer. He is awsome
OOC: What does OVA mean?
they need to put it on again i miss it

I thought samurai X was a movie, and ruruoni kenshin was the series, im not sure tho. But rurouni kenshin is probably the best anime everQuote:

In Japan, it's just called 'Rurouni Kenshin', for the OVA and the Anime. But they renamed the OVA 'Samurai X', I'm guessing because of Kenshin's scar. :cat:
I have the Samurai X boxset, but there is also a Samurai X movie which would be one tape/DVD and has somewhat wierd artwork. Samurai X's artwork is a lot more advanced than the normal Rurouni Kenshin artwork, and it is the story of Kenshin as the Battousai and his relationship with Yukishiro Tomoe.
Kenshin rules that he does. ( i like how he talks) i even bought the first season when i found it at wal mart ( the only copy. YAY!!) the begining song can get annoying after a while but i still have it on my i pod
I first saw the Samurai X series when i was 12 or something, and since then i loved Kenshin:D (i got the entire manga comic serie here).
And i also once saw the movie when he was still Battousai Himura (where the drawing style's very different from Samurai X:rolleyes2 )
good memories of it right!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kenshin is one of my fav. anime of all time! I liked it so much that I decided to buy the whole DVD box set (subbed of course) rather than downloading it all from the net. This anime is well worth the money spent.
i really really miss it.........(im gonna right hate mail to cartoon network im gonna try and get them to put it back on!!!!)
They most likely removed it because the third filler story arc has religious references and blood up the hazoo. :cat: I don't expect them to put it back on, or YYH for that matter, without severe censoring. (They cut out alot of the good stuff from the Shishio arc when they put it on CN anyway.) That, and Toonami's only on once a week now (unless it got removed entirely, I haven't seen it in awhile.).
Read the manga. The filler arc is nice, but it reveals nothing about Kenshin's past, and the third storyline in the manga has all the stuff you'd want to know :choc2: And Samurai X seems like a completely different show. (It is an OVA, though, so...) It also has a different ending then the manga's.
