I am currently using MSN since it's the best of all.

You've got MSN Messenger up there twice (which I use), and I also use Gmail's messenger service (which isn't up there). Maybe this poll should be multiple choice? Just an idea.

I use AIM and Yahoo (Though hardly Yahoo..). Though for awhile I was using Trillian (Which is just a combination of AIM, Yahoo and MSN)

I haven't used MSN in forever since my Hotmail account was lost in the depths of eternity, but maybe Ill get back on eventually.

Primarily yahoo, AIM sometimes (Trying to increase that because I <3 Raist) and with actual, vocal sound a distant third.

Edit: You all should know, MSN is smurfing lamesauce. I mean weaksauce lamesauce. Nicolas Culpepper hates MSN.

Gmail messenger is easy. If you have a gmail account, it should already be active. Just invite the people on your mailing list to chat with you.;) And, when will the changes be made in this poll?

I used to use Google Talk but not anymore because it lacks in features. It's too plain and simple, nothing big about it.

My MSN for some reason is a little screwy when it comes to downloading files from someone else, 90% of the time it goes really slow, even when I am on Trillian. I have no problem with AIM or Y!M though.

I usually use Trillian to sign into AIM, Y!M and MSN, though occaisonally I will actually use MSN program itself, whilst keeping Trillian on for the other two services.

IRC is so not IM that I'm not even going to count it~

Also, there's no point in separating aim and aol, and windows messanger and msn. They connect to the same networks.

And what about stuff like jabber which I've heard of but never seen anyone actually use?

I use AIM, I have msn and yahoo but they don't work on my computer because it's so old. :( So I'm sticking with AIM for now, I would download trillian too, but I already tried and that doesn't work either.

MSN isn't the best... It leeches on your connection and does all sorts of nasty things that you wouldn't suspect. Read into it more. I only use it when I'm at someone else's house. Their PC - not mine. Use Gaim, or Trillian. To add to that, the transfer speed on MSN Messenger is appalling.

Edit: Why haven't you put the third-party messengers on there (though, I guess there's an 'other' option)?

Yeah, I have Y!M, MSN and AIM, but i'm hardly ever on Y!M, and though I sign onto MSN every day I usually leave it in appear offline mode except for a few times to talk to the people who don't use anything else, Krissy or Jesster. but AIM is on mostly all day every day.

I have MSN, Y!M and AIM, but I spend most time on MSN. I like Y!M better, but none of my offline friends use it. I never, ever go on AIM because I'm too lazy to find out anybody's screen names, and again none of my offline friends use it. :(

I've just started using an instant messenger again after a couple of years when I didn't bother. I find myself using MSN because the people I talk to use it.

I have accounts which I sign on daily with AIM, Y!, MSN, and ICQ using Trillian. Most of the people I chat with are on AIM and I have a few buddies on MSN. I don't know a soul on ICQ or Y! anymore, but Trilllian logs then in automatically anyway, so why stop interfere?

I got my ICQ a couple years back when my dad's uber extensive firewalls blocked everthing imaginable except for an outdated ICQ2Go's Java telenet thingy. I could chat with my AIM buddies from that, but only that.

Why I still have my Y!M going is a mystery.
