Anytime someone asks my friend how to do something, he generally will respond with "use your weiner" and we all have a big laugh.

How was everything ruined? Seems fitting enough for a crazy April 1st.

yes, Vienna is known in Austria as Wien and a resident of Wien is in fact a Wiener. Wiener Schnitzel is probably the derivation of the term wiener, which is somewhat akin to referring to all potatoes as Frenchies.
