Even I dont know what Seymour was talking about when he said, "Spira....is a spiral of death". Can someone clear this up for me?
**Spoiler warning!!**
The following was taken from OKong's game script FAQ at gamefaqs.com.
Tidus: Why is it...everything in Spira
seems to revolve around people dying?
Auron: Ahh, the spiral of death.
Tidus: Huh?
Auron: Summoners challenge the bringer of death, Sin, and die doing so.
Guardians give their lives to protect their summoner. The fayth are the souls
of the dead. Even the maesters of Yevon are unsent. Spira is full of death...
Only Sin is reborn, and then only to bring more death. It is a cycle of death,
spiraling endlessly.
I hope this answers your question!
OK, thx for making sense of it....I get it now....
Spiral
Rubah, I doubt that's it.
What about spiral?Quote:

Spoilers and Conjecture:
I think it goes deeper then that. If you examing Spira at large it is stagnant. There is nothing new, no progress. People struggle to retain the status quo in the face of death. Spira is a dead world. The never ending cycle of death perpetuates it. The past is the land of the dead, and only dead things reside there. By never progressing forward Spira is essentially a dead world forever trapped in a past it can not escape.
people also seem to fixate on death, hence the farplane
Another quote from OKong's game script FAQ:
Fayth: Would you and your father... Would you let us rest? Both you and your
father have been touched by Sin. Sin, the one around whom all Spira-the
spiral-revolves.
I get it now..
Sin kills people,
Guardians die protecting summoners,
summoners die fighting sin,
Sin comes back to do that all over again.
Thx for the info. I get in now.
It is a Spiral of death till they decide to find whats in it...
spoiler version of this... (SPOILER)ending the cycle by destroying whats inside that giant shell called sin, yes, shell. inside hides a very protected Yu-Yevon.
It is a Spiral of death. I mean Spira.
I'm pretty sure, actually, that it is it. Square likes them some symbolism.Quote:

It's a big loop and eventually everyone's gonna wind up dead. What's this called? A spiral. What do you get when you remove one letter? A neat name for a place.
Yeah, it's pretty obvious. Although Square's symbolism is always delicious. :tonberry: :cat:
Doesn't Spira seem to revolve around spheres?
Sphere Grids, Movie Spheres, Sphere Pool, Sphere Shot, Dresspheres.
he meant that when sin dies so does the summoner and then he is reborn and he dies again and so on people just keep dieing and by being sin: "to destroy-to heal-spira i will become the next sin"
Oh okay now I know what it meansQuote:

but i wonder why yunalesca never said anything about yu yevon to the other summoners. maybe the eternal nagi(or calm) would have come sooner but then tidus would stay in zannarkand and vanish with the dream of the faith. shame to yuna in the second one. her theme rocks i have it playing now.
death go's round and round and round in spira, never ending cycle and ooww, im getting dizzy...lol, yeah spheres...everything is in spheres haha!
Praises to Squaresoft for the "Spiral of Death" concept! It's a masterpiece!
I found it to be one of their more obvious symbolism puns, but it all works out.
